- TM Krishna's first piece of his performance at the FEA-curated Karnatic Modern II concert tour was a Muthuswami Dikshitar composition "Shri Guruna Palitosmi" in Raga Padi.
He was accompanied by Akkarai Subhalakshmi on violin, K Arun Prakash on mridangam and N Guruprasad on ghatam. Tanpura support was provided by Rithvik Raja and Surabhi Seshadri.
Just 15500 views! the genius of this raga and this composition needs to be discovered by all humanity!!!

Namaskaram Sri TMK ji
My pet since 1990......
He is a genius. The most important thing is the way he gets immersed in the raga and the bhava of the composition. It's as if Mutti Swamy Dikshtar rendering his own composition in front of the Maha Shiva.....
Beautiful, serene and riveting! Kudos to TMK, Subbulakshmi, the other accompanying artistes and the whole audio and video team. Despite his protestations of the religious attributes of Carnatic music, TMK could not help being moved into choked silence when he utters the phrase 'sarva shiva avatara'. May God bless him and may he enthrall us so for long many more decades!
Yes true! I've noticed this happen to him in quite a few videos. It's actually very touching to watch and I too am moved when I watch those beautiful moments! Especially the silence when everyone waits for him to continue, makes the experience much more powerful.
Wow!!
Yes, these are beautiful moments.. whether it’s the beauty of the ragam, composition or the lyrics which move TMK , it swamps the listener in the same emotional bliss. Absolute magic.
The late GNB handled pADi with mastery. After that it just seems to have vanished for a while. Now TMK has brought it back, in true Dikshitar style!
Is there any recording of Sri GNB singing padi?
Each presentation is a gem to be cherished !!!!🕉
How utterly tranquil and beautiful !
Krishna is tropical musician. Forget seasons, he can portrait all in a one concert.
tm krishna garu your all kirtana's are so wonderful 😀😃😄
Absolutely beautiful....
Did anyone notice the Mrdangam player? He so perfectly guesses what TMK is going to sing and plays in almost perfect sync!! Amazing!
experience yes. one step further- aznda, atmarthamana eedupadu
Yes, there are times he almost stops playing. In live, one can see it very clearly - he plays with such soft hands. No noise pollution 😊
haunting padi......tmk koti namaskarams to you
I am somehow finding a similarity with the background music that accompanied the introduction of the Doordarshan logo when the daily telecast began, back in the 80's !! Marvellous rendering , hats off to TMK !!
hahaha super find
Even I see the familiarity. Any luck finding the link to that tune?
19:30.....what an exciting movement..arun prakash and tmk ...what a coordination at that point

Just one observation for those who are learning from this rendition, it is "Naadakhya Kalakarena" and not "Sadaaakhya Kalakarena". However, the note is SA. The meaning of Naadakhya means the Guru taking on the very form of Naada. TMK embodies that enough in his music to overlook this minor detail adding to the fact that he uses the note instead of the Sahitya is perhaps his brilliance as well.. But I am just writing this for the benefit of serious students of music.
@Shreyas K Thanks Shreyas....I only looked at the literal Samskrutam meaning and context and did not refer the Sangeetha Sampradaya Pradarshini.

Sounds like malahari.
Entire different...
From PADI raga in kathakali sangeetham...
PADI Ragam was also used in ancient Tamil pannisai especially in thevaram and thiruvasagam recitals
Is this the same 'Padi' raga used in Kathakali, kerala's artform ?
No. Kathakali "Paadi" is totally different. Beauty of kathakali paadi is repeating similar phrases again and again in long sets. and its sync with the vesham performer and percussion too.

Divinity at its zenith.Akkarai Subbalakshmi is an amazing musician. With all due respects to her , her 'tchuu' is very distracting.
Jayashree Iyer may I know what is 'tchuu'?, please
Kavitha Girish I think she refers to that Carnatic click of appreciation .
Actually I really enjoy it when I hear it coz it shows that it's really on-the-spot improvisation and that's how they appreciate each other's performance. It's really cool coz several times both me and the other musicians would be responding the same way to a really cool line or sangathi :)
