Can we talk about how she sampled the movie 'The Exorcist' on the Velvet Rope song. Pop artist just wasn't doing that back then, especially black artist. She will always be forward thinking and next level when it comes to her art.
People underestimate her vocal abilities all the time but they don’t see that vocally she can do things and sing songs that singers with bigger voices may not be able to pull off. She can get into the nooks and crannies of a song with her delicate vocal style. She can deliver aggressive songs as well as sensual/sexual with the same ease. And let’s not even get started about her 5-STAR background harmonies and vocal stacks!!!!
YES SIR just cause ur voice is big and great doesn’t mean you can be diverse with ur music her voice is magic and so great for so many beats and genres I’ll never get over it
You need to do 2pac’s 1995 classic album me against the world because 2pac’s most introspective effort to date. Hitting the shelves while he was still in prison, the album helped shift his image from that of gangsta rapper to more of a gangsta poet, setting the stage for 2pac to become one of the most famous mcs in the world.
@@princeshanghai most also credit Jimmy and Terry but they're a 3some. There are 2 albums post Superbowl when labels thought changing her creative process (letting the producers of the day change her sound) would return her to her throne. They were good albums but lacked depth. Unbreakable was the return to the old formula and it was delicious!!

Yes I always say that Janet’s voice is amazing. People think that “whisper” singers suck and that only powerhouse vocalists like Whitney or Mariah are worth listening to, but Janet’s voice is perfect for choruses and harmonies (she does the harmonies in all her songs by herself and her voice layers over itself so well, Michael does the same thing and his harmonies are also perfect). However I must say that on Got Til It’s Good, the chorus isn’t Janet, it’s Joni Mitchell. The song samples Joni’s song Big Yellow Taxi.
Yes her harmonies are literally insane I will never get over it she always sounds so magical agreed MJ has so many great harmonies and catchy songs it runs in the family haha and also either way even if it’s not her voice their I’m pretty sure he had a lot to do with setting it up and it’s soooo iconic 😭

See, back in the day, CDs ruled the world. Some artists would put a hidden track on the CD. The janet. album had one, it was the song Whoops Now. Anywho, The Velvet Rope also had a hidden track, and that was the last half of Special. The song is called Can't Be Stopped.

every time is a beautiful song this was my mom's favorite Janet album especially I get lonely I think of her whenever I listen to together again this album does have sad moments but it's gotten a lot of her fans including me through dark moments when we've lost someone dear to us it lifts us I hope that she knows that I'm sure many fans who have met her told her so .
You must do a vid reaction to this one. LMAO WHEN YOU SAID TOGETHER AGAIN COULDVE BEEN DEEPER. It was originally gonna be a ballad but Jimmy & Terry sent her the dance track and she rewrote the melody. They released the original ballad version too, just not on the album. It’s called together again deeper remix and you can find it on YT!

This album was strong and appreciate to talk about taboo subjects. But many songs have a problem for me (i didn't like at all ''Rope Burn'' and Gone Til's it's Gone'' and i was not so fan of ''THe Velvet Rope'', the violon part irritate me so much) and this is the reason why i search more the japan version, because the japan version included a bonus track: ''God Stepchild''. This song was a pop ballad very close to the song ''Again'' and a sad song. Depist that, this will be a strong album and delivers a very emotional journey during this album. My favorites was ''Together Again'', ''You'', ''FreeXone'', ''Everytime'' and ''God Stepchild''.
She’s spelling Conscience backwards on You. Also if you love this album you’d love Tinashe’s debut album Aquarius. It’s heavily influenced by The Velvet Rope.

Yes, I believe Britney was inspired by Janet. A lot of her style was like janet
Exactly and it’s such a great example of being inspired but also giving ur own style mixed with ur own Janet is so important to music

“Empty” is like the most underrated song of all time
I have to agree 😌
In 1998, this album won a GLAAD Media Award for it's songs about sexual orientation and homophobia. And yes, Janet Jackson is a gay icon.

Wouldn’t surprise me who wouldn’t want to be bisexual with Janet 😏
This album gave me sexy fun, free dark and happiness in one it is iconic and cutting edge until this day 😍❤..
Together Again is so beautiful it's a dance song with a message about people we've lost looking down on us from above .
Velvet Rope though 🤤 are you kidding me !taking me all the way there. There will never be a song like that again

No she wasn't. She doesn't support violence and bigotry. The lyrics to her song Black Eagle she sings "EVERY life matters".
