Fabulous scenery. The vultures were quite good guides until they clearly decided to lure you onto that hill by pretending to work phantom lift! Does the vario you use have a thermal-centering helper, like my Naviter Hyper, and if so, do you use it? What fabulous scenery, by the way!
Bill Brand I could have stayed soaring that ridge for ages but I decided that I’d had a fun flight, and I knew Lisa was probably close, and there was a bar there too! My vario (XC Tracer Mini II GPS) doesn’t have a thermal centring tool itself but the app it connects to (Flyskyhy) does. It works well...
Flying with vultures in Spain, seen in another video from Carlos Silva tipped my scale of the decision towards starting paragliding. Now I'm on it and really looking forward to visit that site after my training is complete. You name it, what a privilege... Flying paragliding in general is a privilege for the flying souls, I think only people sharing that deep passion of flying will really understand it and you can show max 1% of the real deal beeing there on the video. And then you get lucky to have this majestic birds flying with you... What you want more? The most expensive things in life will not be able to give you a moment like this, do you agree? Even if you have billions and billions :-) (-:
I totally agree, some moments are priceless - all the money in the world couldn't buy some of the experiences I've enjoyed whilst paragliding. Good luck with your training!
@@TimPentreath Thank you Tim. Hop to see you once somewhere for a chat or a flight, I am lucky to have friends working with the glider brand you fly so that might be pretty possible... Keep it up, love your stories :-D
Wow! So many vultures!! What an awesome experience...thanks for sharing. How do you add the the Ayvri track?...do you film your computer screen with the gopro then add it as clip? Cheers Tim!
@@TimPentreath Cheers!...I'm trying to put together a video of my flight in Snowdonia last week and wanted to blend the Ayvri track in...I'll have a look at QuickTime. Thanks.
A great video to watch when the weather doesn't let you fly :) Tim, I have a question: As you have flown your OXA3 for quite a while now, I wonder if you had any scarry, unexpected moments on the wing , or is it REALLY as safe and solid as they say it is? Regards
arosabat Looks like I’ve had about 45 hours on mine now, with over 30 of those in thermic conditions in the alps, and no, no scary incidents at all, but who knows what’s around the corner...? I don’t think any glider is completely immune from really shitty air... it’s certainly easy to fly and a very confidence inspiring wing.
Thank you for sharing this adventure!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!

Flying with any birds is awesome. Big ones like that must have felt they could land on you.

I wonder what they think of us? Just a big goofy looking bird that can't flap probably!
…that gets in their way as well!

Steve Porter Cheers Steve. Almost right, I use QuickTime on my Mac to record the screen, then add it into iMovie.

@@steveporter3714 If you've got a Mac then it's easy. If you've got a PC then I guess you'll have to search for a free app...
@@TimPentreath Yes I've got a Mac but haven't really got into the video editing side of things yet so feeling my way a bit...
