    It's so unfortunate that Capcom abandoned the "meter selection" system in subsequent titles. The ISM system was unbalanced in SFA3 - due to V-ISM being broken -, but the Groove System in Capcom vs SNK 2 was a step in the right direction.

      @@legefy Yeah but you could still be competitive, also could add to the longevity of a game. The amount of time invested you would have to spend to become great with timing/skill with all the groves, pretty rewarding. But I remember growing up was rare seeing someone using P grove, but when they did you knew they were dangerous.

    After playing _CvS2_ for the first time in years just a few weeks ago (albeit the PS2 version), this'll be right up my alley; I never was very good at parrying and just customized my "EX" style to utilize 'em.

    • @tedjomuljono3052

      That's the thing! When I was practicing it in Training Mode I had a _much_ easier time parrying in _CvS2_ than I did in _SFIII!_ 🤪 So I figured _maybe_ I could use the former to train for the later…

    Chun-Li's sprite is so badass in this game

    • @xOmniCloudx
      @xOmniCloudx 2 роки тому

      Chun Li, Yun, Ken, Ryu, Evil Ryu and Akuma from CVS2 are I think the last original fighting game sprites Capcom made. While yes, the KOF characters ALL have new sprites in each CVS game, it seems obvious in CVS2 that they made the SNK ones first as they don't look as good as the characters I listed.
      After them, Capcom seemed to then make ones of characters that had sprites they couldn't rip from Alpha like Maki, Kyosuke and Eagle or Darkstalkers like Morrigan (which will always be hilarious due to how out of place her sprite looks in the game compared to everyone else).
      Finally, it looks like Capcom decided to remake the sprites of the characters that were in Third Strike as opposed to ripping them out of the game (maybe some type of compatibility issue) like they did most the other Capcom characters which could explain their higher quality since they knew that they were going to be the final characters in the game to make and it was mostly shotos and 2 of those were just different versions of Ryu.

    Dumb question, does using 3 bar for a lv 1 canceled into a lv2(or vice versa? I forgot the rules for C Groove super cancel) does more damage than just landing a lv3? I see Justin prefers chaining 2 supers rather than just a lv3

    • @mouad19

      For most characters it's more beneficial to do level 2 to level 1 super instead of level 3 super. In most cases doing a level 2 into a special move is more than sufficient.

      Nah i don't think so. CvS2 has a bigger appeal than MvC2 for being more accessible and because of the brands. There are people who just don't get into the Marvel system. And in my case, i even prefer KOF to SF so my favorite type of team system is turn based instead of tag based. I respect MvC but can't play it. And speaking of brands, only in the u.s MvC is a huge thing. The scene is modest in JP, while CvS has a fairly lively scene since the beginning until today (for a 20 y.o game). And lastly JP has a bigger SNK appreciation than the u.s, where it's pretty much nonexistent in the old school arcade culture.

    • @xOmniCloudx
      @xOmniCloudx 2 роки тому +1

      @@carlosaugusto9821 It's not a thought. I was there. No one played CVS2 over MVC2 in the day. CVS2 died early, MVC2 stayed big and that's casual. At tourneys, MVC2 also dominated CVS2. In mass market appeal Marvel was well known with well known characters for decades while SNK is still niche today. Sales wise MVC2 also beat CVS2. Finally, Marvel has massive fan campaigns for a return anytime it's gone too long which thus far have always worked. CVS still has yet to return due to Capcom and SNK not thinking it would be financially viable.
      Your comments are not only wrong but opposite of what has actually happened.
