Having issues with your PHP schtuff?! Here’s a way I found out how to solve the issue of increasing your “Max Input Vars” as well as solving the “PHP Time Limit” issue as well.
If you aren’t using the Avada theme (with its built-in PHP ‘checker’), not to worry! Follow this link to set up a phpinfo.php file for yourself where you can check all of this information without the Avada theme:

I was able to get this to work by going into the Text Editor and removing [PHP]. Not sure why the code editor was acting goofy...but it worked. Thank you for the easy-to-understand information, Tommy.
dailyRx thanks for supplying the workaround!
Totally saved my Sunday!! I knew there was a php.ini file already in the root directory. I just couldnt find it. This video showed me how to find the 'hidden files'. I knew there was a php.ini somewhere cause my wordpress Avada 'status' for imported site was showing a limit at 1000. The file was in my root and I just had to add what was recommended here... and BOOM! Problem solved. Great Video!!!
Super thanks man.... you are entertaining enough that I watched some of your drum vids. Keep on hittin the skins!

I made the switch from making all of my money from 'jobs' where you actually have to show up at the exact same time everyday at the same place, to being 100% remote and running my own business recently. Learning about and fine-tuning the art of making passive income from creative content is certainly at the forefront of my impetus right now. I have 3 total UA-cam channels that I run, all of which are monetized but only in the form of UA-cam ads, which amounts to next to nothing. New methods of generating income utilizing the traffic I receive from my various social media outlets are in the works! Thanks for the suggestion. I have a PayPal donation link on my "Vicariously Yours" UA-cam channel, but just haven't gotten around to setting up on this channel. This channel (especially) and my other 2 channels, also need a bit of a facelift and a greater UX/UI via organizational strategies like custom thumbnails, a fluid design and personality that flows throughout each video on the channel, "call-to-action" links embedded within the videos, merchandising/branding, etc... Plenty of work to be done. Had some MAJOR tragedies befall my life over the past 3 years, all of which have passed finally. I plan on ramping all of this up to the 'next level' soon. Sorry for the winded response. I really appreciate your interactive and insightful comment, Yatin. Cheers, buddy!

Canal Eureka I do not have the privilege of having an answer to your question. Wish I could help! Cheers! Thank You.
You're hilarious. Thanks for the help!
Muchas gracias!!!

Could you make a new Vicariously Yours video for Christmas this year? Sorry if that's too much to ask for.
Steven Brown I'll try
Steven Brown you're on my mind. Going to make an ASMR soon. It's killing me that I'm not working on that channel right now! I will be back!!!!!
Steven Brown Happy Holidays, Steven!
Tommy Dimmel Happy holidays!
I've got a new studio setup now. Had to make a big move in my life, lost 3 major loved ones in 2017 already, and have just been consumed with my 'jobby job'. Things have settled, the new studio is set up, and I recently posted a new video of a friend of mine unboxing her new MacBook Air. The studio is a perma-setup, in a place that will probably be a perma-place in my life indefinitely for the time being. Life has settled, a groove is forming, so freed up time is allowing me now to pursue things like my ASMR channel. Videos to come very soon!

THANKSSSS!!!!
I followed along, but still see the same error message in the System status: "1000 - Recommended Value: 1572.
Max input vars limitation will truncate POST data such as menus." I went to the directory root, created a file and named it user.ini, pasted the code you wrote: [PHP]
max_input_vars = 5000, changed the 5000 to 10000, saved it. Same error. I also tried to change it back to 5000. Same error.
I did notice one difference from your video and what my New File popup window. In your tutorial, within the popup window, it has: New file will be created in /public_html/tommydimmel.com. In mine, it only has /public_html. There's no mention of my website name. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Found my mistake. I forgot the .(dot) before user.ini. When I typed out .user.ini, I got a message stating that the file already exists. I opened it in Code Editor and just added 'max_input_vars = 10000' (without the quotes). All seems good now.
By the way, I'm trying to learn Wordpress and Avada. Can you suggest any good video tutorials that teach you how to build a website from scratch using Avada. Most of the tutorials I've seen use Avada Demo themes and then tweak them. The ones I found that teach how to start from scratch are really old (Avada version 2, 3). Thanks again for posting this very helpful tutorial. I called Godaddy to fix this yesterday and they wanted to charge me $30!
I had GoDaddy perform the $30 service you described, and it did NOT fix many of my PHP issues. I'm actually wondering still if their service made any difference at all. Either way, I decided to figure it out on my own and make this tutorial. Here is a video to a well-liked, popular Avada tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/dmsE_eqnCwQ/v-deo.html
Tommy Dimmel I hope they refunded your $30!
I had 2 issues. One was the VARS one, and the other was the size of the PHP file needed to be increased to 256MB. After both were configured, the site started working. What a coincidence. The link you sent is what I'm using as an Avada tutorial, but again, he imports the Avada Classic Demo which he then tweaks. Still looking for one that teaches you how to setup a website from scratch using Avada, but without the demos. In any case, thanks a ton for your concise tutorial. Cheers!
Buuuuum I made it! Thanks!
BOOOM! lol. too good!
