Still think Alvarez can be a top top CDM as long as the system doesn’t expose his lack of pace. Remember under Moyes, Alvarez was arguably our best and most important player? I reckon under Potter he can reach new heights
I don’t think Alvarez is fully recovered from his injury so it’ll be hard to judge him until he gets a break and properly heals. I’m not opposed to telling him, but there’s still a player there. I’m sure of it
No way should we let Kudus go he is the only player scoring goals for us right now and the way he intercepts the ball and runs through the opposing team to brings others forward in attack is brilliant
i wouldnt be too bothered , his disaplinary record has been shocking last season and even worse this season. Loan is useless why do clubs take the piss thinking this is acceptable to us to get a replacement.
When he arrived Alverez looked a steal and we were guaranteed a profit on him. That is still there and Pitter could be the man to get it back. We shouldn’t be losing money on Alverez. Also what we get for him won’t buy even an average striker, so why bother?
We've got issues all over the pitch, Striker, attacking midfielder, defenders and goal keeper. 😭😭😭 nothing to play for now this season, only staying up
Alvarez is not quick enough or creative enough to take us forward. He shuffles round and gets some tackles in but I just cant see a player there. He's also expressed a desire to leave so let him go.Dewsbury Hall is a much better option who offers a good footballing brain, creativity and an eye for a goal. That's what we need.
Couldn’t disagree more. You get someone more creative, you put far more pressure on the back four. I’d argue we need MORE defensive stability in defensive midfield, not less.

I feel he’s only dipped in performance due to the previous manager system and let’s be honest the whole team have under performed.to label one player is harsh in my opinion. I really like Alverez and I hope he stays ,but what do I know 😂😂😂
Idk why people keep saying he hasn’t been good?! He was brilliant last season, and this season the whole team has been dreadful due to Lopetegui. He’s the real one at fault. West Ham seems to be the place where talent comes to die. But please place the blame where the blame really goes. In terms of stats, how can you even compare Soujek with Alvarez?? We know stats can say one thing…but we all know the truth.
We are talking about this season when we say he wasn’t been good, we also said he was good last season so you are being a bit unfair there. Comparing stats? It’s the guy next to him, am hardly going to use Danny Ings for context am I?
@ yeah, I understand that. But the context of the tackle or the pass matters. You’re talking about faster legs and in the same breath want to sell us that Soucek is the answer? Also, Alvarez stats are always in the crucial middle of the field. He is the only one with th bollocks to take those tough, low percentage critical tackles. How many time have you seen Soucek take those? That’s why Alvarez has all the yellows. He’s that play breaker. Again, there’s a difference between a tackle and a sideways pass in a non contending area…but we all know who the one in the trenches taking the bullets always is.
Has the form of Alvarez suffered with the way Lopetegui set up the defence? I'm thinking especially of the Chelsea game, but there have been other games when he's been hung out to dry being being left as the last line of defence. Alvarez has many fine qualities, but pace isn't one them. I thought he was more solid v Villa and much n ore like the player we initially bought.
Maybe by the end of the season his value will go up once Potter gets him playing well again. He wants to go let but let’s not allow him to go for nish I think the injury affected him and he his fitness isn’t quite back yet
Bit torn on this one, I think there's a good player in there but he's been so erratic since he's been with us and never really got the feeling he wanted to be here. If we can get a good price and cover then he can go.
Problem is we don't have Quality in depth especially subs due to these injuries so selling first teamers unless its stupid money then there is no point in that as it will only weaken our team even more, hence the difference between first and 2nd half against Villa.
I’d like to know the depreciation value of Alvarez because surely selling him for only £25m puts him down as a loss if he’s still valued at the £32m we paid for him. If so that represents bad business as we’re already looking a fairly large loss on Fulk and possibly a loss on Guido meaning any profit we make on Kudos would be largely swallowed up on the P/L sheets meaning it would have an impact on our PSR standing surely.
We're too low on numbers to let anyone else out on loan. Ideally we'd be recalling people I think but probably can't. Even if we sell we're short on time to bring others in. Just need to get to the end of the season and then go again.
I don't know how many of you have been to Monaco? I have and it's very, very wealthy. Flew over the ground in a chopper. Stunning! As a pro footballer the lifestyle they offer is like being in dreamland. Alvarez would jump all over it. I certainly wouldn't blame him for doing so.
@HammersChat so far this season he's got 3 goals in 7 games which isn't a bad return so far.... last season it was 7 goals in 29. He was talked about as a very promising youngster at Arsenal
Why on earth would we let Alvarez go out on loan anywhere , at the moment he's supposedly our best DM , though I wouldn't say no to selling him £25m along with Soucek £30m ( come on Moyes you know you want him ) , Coufal £10m , Mavropanus £15m , Emerson £10m , Cresswell £0 , Paqueta £35m ( don't like his play acting ) and Ings £5m , we have some crap in our squad .
Our defence has sucked for two seasons now, i don't know if alvarez has something to do with that or his stats suffer from the insecurity of being a cdm and our defence sucking..
Loan move is no good, unless obligation to buy. I think Alvarez is good for about 45 to 60 minutes but he certainly tailed off at the end of Villa game.
Romano seems to be pushing this one hard 😒 So assume there is a big push from agents on this one. Would be happy to sell if we can adequately replace him.
Truth is Alvereez has been pretty poor this season and as with any other players who want to use us as stepping stones to ,,bigger,, clubs they better start stepping up and playing like top players and get us up the table and allow us to make a profit.
These types of foreign clubs see west ham as an easy touch because we've given players away in the past,French and Italian clubs do this to us put in pathetic attempts to loan expensive players

No way I would loan him out even with an obligation. Currently I think his value will be low and I still have hope he will have a good run until the end of the season and we can sell in the summer for a higher value. I also do not want to see Rodríguez play and want our scouts to focus on a striker and CB this window. Having him and Soucek in the midfield is not a good watch so get rid of at least one of them... or else if we can't get a proper striker, stick Soucek up the front where he might be of more use than slowing down our midfield.
