On top of Danny just playing one of the best decks for less than $7.50, he also just happened to side deck anti-spell in case it went to game 3, Joseph really had no shot xD
I will talk shit about Yugioh and Konami all day and night, but I really do appreciate their aggressive reprint policy making the deck building part of the series fun to watch.
especially with older card being usable, staples, or even broken at times. Unlike other card games where old cards were power crept that you have to make new deck every new format
It's very funny to see the different deckbuilding philosophies between Joseph and Danny. Joseph always goes for obscure, cheap archetypes to build, while Danny goes for more well-known expensive archetypes, but just doesn't run the best cards. This, in part, is why Danny claps Joseph so hard in most of these episodes.
I love how Joseph was like "Oooooooo we can play metalfoes!" and uhhhhh the other guy?????? was just on floo. he was JUST on floo. JUST on floo. he JUST played floo. just on floo
I’d like to see a series called “Rich boy Yugioh” where every individual card in the deck must be over a certain amount. Since almost every good deck has a few cent cards, it could end up being fun.
I feel like the finale should be either: a 40c deck. so no side or extra, all 1c cards. Or 1 $1000 deck where you have to spend at least $1000. It's a lower limit, not an upper limit
@@TheColdestplay That would certainly be a work around, but I'd hope they would play to the spirit of the challenge at least. Maybe they could have a lower number (Like 30-40) and that's the minimum per card or something
@@hanakoisbestgirl4752 That's kind of the point, they'd have to put in some cards more because of the price tag then because of meta relevance (while still seeking synergy)
Had you waited a bit longer he could have had 3 D shifters thanks to the structure deck... The only expensive cards in Floo are indeed Prosperity and Advent of Adventure. It's kind of crazy.
Barrier Statues are annoying, but the entire mechanics of Floo are the problem. You can play around Empen, you can out the Statue, but you cannot survive the impending Raiza/Apex Avian out the deck at Spell Speed 2. The fact they do it all under Pot of Duality and don't spend a single card doing it, since they all recur for free, is so stupid.
Cool plays by Joseph game 2. Too bad that all of them are illegal cause he didn't shuffle the goldriver into the deck, and he summoned the other goldriver to a main monster zone the gravity controller didn't point to.
Seeing how crushcards is ruining all content in this channel I extra appreciate whoever "OPTML Media" is for editing this series, wish we had you for everything
I think I actually bought that alt-art Borrelsword shown in this video, though the price is cut off so can't be certain (It was like $3 with shipping so around $2.50ish range I think). This series inspired me to start getting cards myself slowly but surely and I started with the Borrel since it was fancy and looked cool.
Everyone who is mad is wrong. Metalfoes is a boring as shit ten minute turn combo deck that ruined the N/R event in master duel and I'm glad Floo crushed it. #DANNYSWEEP
This is what I hated about Prosperity limit in MD before. Floo still consistent with Jack-in-the-hand and soon they will get new searcher. And other rogue decks that use Prosperity to boost consistency, now they have no alternative.
Oh I am waiting for advent to drop so I mock all the people who clam Maxx C keeps the Combo decks in check..... You know what keeps the combo decks in check better?!?!?? A barrier Statue of the Stromwinds baby!!
Been out of the game for a few years now but this series peaked my interest and this episode made me decide to invest in Budget Floo. Basically have everything besides Advent and Prosperity but Extravagence and Book are solid budget substitutes. Crazy how dirt cheap and good it is
I’m sure y’all already have plans for the finale, if it’s not ready recorded, but I would love to see an ironman match. Both of you have say, $100-150 to build five decks (one deck could use $10 of the budget, another could use $50, etc. Spending however you want as long as five decks are built within budget.) then the first player to win with all five of their decks wins the series.
@@kingmric you can use face down monsters as fusion material and metalfoes fusion is a metalfoes card that by the eldritch magic of magical hats is currently in the monster zone so It should work.
I think it'd be a really cool idea to continue the series with each player having different budgets to add a bit of spice. For example, an episode where one player has a budget of $100, and the other $10.
That would be unfair. Unless the player with the higher budget purposely runs a worse deck, it gives them a massive advantage. You’ve seen some of the crazy stuff they can play with like 5 dollars already, imagine that one player now suddenly can also afford stuff like generic staples
Even if you have ash, is easy to chain block with the banished birds. And if you have effect veiler or infinite impermanence, book of moon saves the birds. This deck is unfair, but that's what makes it good.
a few things that still make it ok to be upset that yugioh is expensive: 1.) this is the 3rd best deck....not the first or second 2.) its only this cheap because they were reprinted in a tin 3.) shipping is a bitch still
Advent of Adventure feels like a consistency card. You know what else is a consistency card? Duality, Extrav, Prospi, Small World, upstart, terraforming, etc.
As a bird player, it hurt to see danny play them. That second game, he forgot that empen gives you a free normal summon as well, something that is vital to the deck. He missed getting barrier down, so when he then played touccan and stri, he played the stature leading to wasted overextension, when he could have played the apex instead, giving one of the best turn one fields the deck can spit out. He could have then gone into a mega raiza when MBT did his normal summon to wreck him even more.
Unrelated to this video, but i found a silly tech using 2 copy of World Legacy Key and Gandora's destruction and banish effect to make a loop that in theory made Gandora has infinite Atk since neither of these 2 card has HOPT on its clause.
To reach the absolute lowest price of a yugioh deck, what if you make a speed duel deck for 25 cents. The lowest possible price to play a competitive yugioh deck!
I can't remember if this has always been the case for the series, but the first game at least was pretty hard to follow because there was more time spent on cutting to full-screen reactions than there was showing anything that was going on in-game.
My favorite part of this series is when the intro says childhood obsession while cutting to a 60 year old man in a competitive tournament
That 60 year old man is Jeff Leonard, famous mystic mine player.
Yes Dave. And?

Agreed wholeheartidly.
I hate that they don't reprint some cards enough. Or that they don't reprint them in lower rarities (Hello forbidden droplets and lightning storm)
Wished MTG had a more agressive reprint policy....
Still needs to be sh"t talked. All the staples make it so these decks don't exist outside of some weird custom banlist you and your friends set up.
I have never seen the light leave joseph's eyes so quickly. I love it

Danny: What we think we can do with a $7.50 deck
MBT: What a $7.50 deck is actually like

i like seeing dzeeef getting clapped every week too xD
Joseph's Floo card going to the bottom of Danny's deck destroyed me
