Rather than just know there’s 2:00 left and a rookie on the run, keep him to the outside and stay between the ball and the goal, he decides to opt for chaos and goes with a front leg lunging slide tackle. Gets neither the man nor the ball. And Totland (sp?) is in all alone.

@@tiltedairi And the ignorant St Louis fan thinks that FIFA picked KC because of the stadium. Instead of the culture, the food, the people, the fans, the growing community (unlike the decaying community further east), and the ability to move around without rush hour.
Makes sense that they let the second STL goal count: "Shoulder-checking A player puts shoulder into an opponent to muscle the other player out of position. The elbow must be tucked in or the act may be considered elbowing, which is against the rules and can result in a penalty.." That's from the official rules...of Ice Hockey
Sporting KC can thank their defender Rosero for the referee letting those two shoulder checks slide which led to both first half goals for STL. If a player is trying so desperately to win an Oscar over and over again, you should expect the referee to hold his whistle when an actual foul occurs because no team should be rewarded with the benefit of the doubt when one of their players pretends to have a near death experience every time they get beat by an opponent. Why there is some expectation in soccer that diving and feigning injury shouldn’t be punished, but praised as a legitimate strategy to win a game is something I will never understand about this sport, as I couldn’t imagine a more embarrassing thing a professional athlete could do than to fake an injury over and over again as a way to beat an opponent. Like have some self respect or get off the field if you truly believe that faking an injury is the only way you can win a game.
@@BobbyBoucher228 you are breathing some real copium if you think rosero getting hit in the head multiple times and "acting" is the reason a referee didn't do his job to call a fair game. the ref all game called the smallest of fouls the players weren't concerned with and would let play heavy shoulder checks and slides. Too many times in this sport teams are rewarded for diving and feigning injury to get an advantage which does a real disservice to the MLS’s attempts to draw more fans to their league and makes other North American sports appear like better options since outside of the NBA no other league embraces flopping as an important strategic aspect of their game like soccer does. The fact that you believe feigning injury is a positive thing for a professional athlete to do as a means to beat another team perfectly explains the issue, you embrace classless behavior as a legitimate way for a professional team to win a game. 5 things... 1. I love a physical game (and you knew it was going to be), but this referee had no control of the match. Yellow cards for dissent, but not actual contact fouls is laughable, especially when it mattered. Both teams could and maybe should have had players sent off. 2. Erik Thommy is the heart of this SKC team. 3. Take nothing away from Pompeu because that was quite a hit. Goal of the year contender in my book, BUT it shouldn't have counted. Score should've ended 3-2 SKC. 4. St. Louis fans booing Rosero all night is rich, considering their boys Klauss and Parker love to throw their weight around and dish out cheap shots, but can't handle legitimate physical play. 5. Best natural rivalry in MLS. KC fans could've been more out in force, but the Royals and Current both were also playing around the same time. Not sure who in KC thought to schedule all that. St. Louis fans bring the noise and energy, but it's really just annoying little brother energy. Enjoy the stolen point on the road, because it certainly wasn't earned.
