I used to guard up there, I have walked through it many many times it was a beautiful house, it was owned by a dr. The last I heard. I loved that place its so sad that the druggie destroyed it, and sad that they demolished it
i was lucky enough to go in this beautiful place just about a week ago. an the son of the man who built it was driving down the hill i we were going up. we got spooked, but when he never came back we found our way inside. it was so amazing but sad. hope it gets fixed.
I signed the petition a month or so ago. I haven't heard any further news about the future of Top O' Rock, but I keep my fingers crossed that it won't be demolished. Its very sad to see all of the pictures. I won't go up there simply because I have this memory of the home. I don't want to see how damaged it is in person. It would just make me sad and angry. I'm glad you had the opportunity to explore this jewel.
That guys name is Ted Elden, he is a very interesting person. He has another house called Little Rock, which was in a legal struggle with the same guy who tore down TopORock.
i think they have cameras out there now, i have been hearing about kids getting caught. i think 3 of them got caught there, but some got caught after, they must have had cameras.
Tim S I actually drove up there today for the first time since I recorded this video. There was a large fence around the base of the home, and a sign read there were indeed cameras. I didn't stay around to look for them, but it was such a sad sight.
I tried to go look at it today but there was a creepy looking security guard parked at the entrance. I had to back off the hill because he wouldn't even let me turn around.
I've heard he's been hired to watch over the property. I'm sure if you had explained yourself, he may not have had a problem. He's just on the lookout for more vandals.
I've always wanted to go up and see the house. It's amazing from what I have seen

A heart surgeon named Mitchell Rashid is the one who bought it and tore it down according to toporock.net

I passed by the property yesterday and thought how beautiful it looked during the fall. Yes indeed, it's a shame.
Omg! Has this been demolished????
The inside looks like a james bond film's vilain's lair or HQ.

The Top O' Rock house was torn down in 2015.

You won't find abandoned homes around Virginia's Capital building if you do let me know lol
Country Boy , it's located in West Virginia, not Western Virginia.
