I love these so much. They sound really amazing and the isolation is amazing for in the train omw to school. I could easily listen at 20% vol without being bottered (3 notches on iphone) while very loud kids were 1 seat next to me talking so loud and annoying yet i couldn’t hear them at all. Love these for sound and isolation. Perfect iem for me.
I received a pair of er2se from US two days ago. Have to say that these are my favourite pair of IEMs so far, better than Shure 425, better than Akg N40. Also I like these more than er4xr. They are just so sweet and natural. When I played "Circle of drums" by Chesky records, these sounded way better than er4xr which was unexciting. but still very flat sounding, neutral and acquired taste earphones.
Dan Tsui there is a bit more details in the er4xr but not the way I personally like. I personally don’t like BA drivers. They just sound boring and unnatural to me.
I had the ER4’s a long time ago. I had to carry a tweezer with me whenever I wore them as the plastic flange often times came off the hardware when removing them from my ear and became stuck in my ear. However, sound was great.
I always place a tiny piece of super glue before I place the tip on. Then its all good for a long time. After 2 months because of heat and sweat the glue gets loose. Then again. And Bob is your uncle. All good to go. My question is. Is this have enough volume . I got socked with the t5 from klipsch. Small sound stage. Even on max volume it was low for me.
I managed to get from ali express 50pcs DIY Tuning Papers 200 250 300 350 400 450 500 Mesh Tuning Cotton Pads Earphones DIY Adhesive Papers for 4 dollars. For the green filter sound, get the 350. For brighter tone, get the 300 and for a less treble get the 400. 50 filters and produce the same results. Remove the old filter and press the stickers into the noozle. Simple
Excellent review! Engaging, informative, concise and very well produced. I particularly loved the hook, straight up honesty. Even going so far, to refer those not viable on to specific manufacturers. Wish I could find a data sheet!
I don’t know how anyone could like the foam tips but I’ve legit fallen asleep with the silicone tips on and I find them very comfortable however if you are active with these on and they get yanked out of your ear… better hope you have a high pain tolerance
Amazing review as usual! Need your help please, what you choose between the FIIO FH3 and the Etymotic ER2XR if isolation and sound quality are the most important criteria? (I mainly listen to Jazz, Folk and some modern R&B music)
@@perthlongboardingsociety321 I ended up actually going with the ER3XR. They still give plenty of low end, but also enough sound separation to differentiate the other instruments, click track, etc. I may get a set of the 2XRs in the future.
The t4 is less accurate in the midrange. They have a 5khz and 7khz boost which can make vocals a bit thin sounding. It doesnt sound bad perse but its less realistic for sure compared to my er4xr. I also ordered the er2se from amazon.
They are the true iem kings indeed. My hd600 comes close and becomes very similar tonaly when using sonarworks true fi. Still the etys sound more impressive technicaly. (Tighter, faster, more detailed etc).
@ Imo the er4xr is more transparent and has a bit more "edge" to the sound. The 2se sounds smoother while still being very "clear". The bass of the 2se is very neutral and perfectly in line with the rest of the music while the 4xr has slightly more pronounced bass. I would say the 4xr sounds more like good speakers in a room and the 2se like speakers not effected by room acoustics. Also what i like about the 4xr is that it comes with a channel matching certificate. With the 2se i have no idea how "accurate" they really are.
@@gullibleskeptic3237 It's not rocket science it's in the name - SE ie Studio Edition. It is more accurate, similar sound performance to good flat transparent studio monitors in a music recording studio. Whereas the XR while fairly neutral and flat, do have a little bit of artificial boosting done to the sound. If you like a accurate sound nothing added or taken away from the recording then get the Studio Edition. If you like some artificial boosting then buy the XR.
@@paulosilva8200 Sony are volume capped in the EU sadly, so this could be the problem. The ER2 are very easy to drive though, so you should get more than enough volume out of them.
@@hifiheadphones thanks for the help and the reply. Really appreciated from my side. I live in dubai. So I guess this is uae version. And I just order today the headphones. I have now the sennheiser e40. Love the sound but is hard to keep inside even with the large triple sleep tips.then I got the Sony xba 2. That fits well but I break the cable all the time and the sound is worst than the e40. Then I get the B&W that the volume is lower and there is not to.much air pumping. A little of move and all sound is gone. Then I got the biggest ever mistake, klipsch t5. Took me 5 min and I gave as a gift to the guy that cleans the gym. Then I get the shure 535 that never fits unless I press with my hands and the only tip that works is the yellow foam tip that lowers the volume and miss and highs. Big mistake. I sometimes wonder if I should get something special and nice instead of buying 5 pairs. The t5 I used it on max. I even suprised what hifi gave a 5 stars review. They total crap and the volume is so bad that even for phone calls was hard to ear. Hard for someone to make the tips and canal pipe longer and tips that are like foam but the sound does not travel back. I notice for my ears the straight pipe are the best, and not the pipes that point up when the ear canal points down.

Really glad you enjoyed them, we definitely know the flat sound signature isn't for everyone but for those that enjoy it they are a real treat!
Good to know there is a more natural sounding etymotic out there. How does the detail on the er2se compare to the er4xr's?

Sadly we don't sell the Fiio so we have not heard it. The Etymotic is clean, clear and with a slight lift in the low end.
How would you compare the ER2XR to the ER3XR? I'm looking at using them as IEMs as a drummer.
Get the ER2. The dynamic driver gives a better bass thump than balanced armatures. Will be important when trying to dicern kicks in songs

Don't! They have absolutely NO low end. If you're a drummer, Go for Stagediver SD3/4.
I'm recording, mixing, and EQing music, which model of the Er collection would be more beneficial for my needs.
Thanks for the review 👍
The ER2SE or ER3SE would be ideal, if you can stretch to the ER4SR that would be the most accurate.

Hi john, Could you please review the tin hifi t3? I really would appreciate your opinion on it. Thanks.
We will keep in in mind for the future! Thanks for the suggestion :)
Good review....
Thanks for the kind words :) I appreciate that!
Bruh Im.just waiting for a mmcx with mic for calls ..
Did you said. Easy to drive. There is no volume in this iem. 96db is nothing for a 32 ohm iem
They are still easily driven from a portable source or mobile phone :) what device do you use yours with?
Nice earphones
Thanks for watching :)
Found a way to encrease the bass. Yeeeee
