I rebuilt my 1996 Bandit 12, 5 years ago just after I bought it., exact same problems, cracked swingarm in same place, frozen bolts, no grease in the roller bearings,......nobody has been in there before, this is as they came from the factory but add a couple of decades of use. Still got it in the stable 80,000km and rides lovely now. So worth doing. Fitted replacement cushion lever arm and swingarm with good 2nd hand and replaced bearings and bushes. Every bearing and bush in the whole thing done, plus a light moly grease smeared into the new bearings before install.
Yep well worth doing, feels like a new bike again now. One of those things that often overlooked. I recently restored my 1985 GSXR750 every single bearing in the bike is new, rides amazingly 👍👍 Plenty more to come as well this winter, got a GSXR1100 to turn into a track bike, a GSXR400 to get back on the road and a GSXR750 needing quite a bit of work done
