- How to paint a loose watercolour abstract, creating grasses this week. there is no reference for this, so copy mine or find a landscape that interests you and have a go.
find my new Facebook page 'Painting with Paul Apps" ask to join and add your version on there.
My colour palette for this image was simply D.Smith Transparent Pyrrol orange and Winsor and Newtons Payne's Grey.
. You do not need to stop at two colours either. This whole tutorial is about experimentation and having fun.

So much on offer, well worth checking out for a few pounds each month.
Patreon Page
On my Patreon page, you will find the full versions of videos along with other full-time narrated tutorials for you to enjoy. I am using a limited palette as shown in the film.
Materials Used:
Paper Fabriano Artistico Hot Pressed Block 140lb
you can use any paper you wish cold-pressed NOT will also work well.
Masking fluid, Pebeo or Windsor and Newton.
My full list of colours set out below is in sequence as they appear in my palette. There are way too many and will be edited down over time to a core set.
PALETTE
Windsor and Newton Payne's Grey and D. Smith Translucent Pyrrol Orange
Palette box is a cheaper version of a Holbein offering a 20 slot palette. If honest I have way more colours than if ever use. I often only use a few of these and a version of this palette with fewer slots would be better for most.
My brushes are mainly Rosemary and Co, Sable, and Synthetics.
My watercolour palette is as follows:

I am trying to bring you a new video art tutorial every Friday at 3 PM. GMT. If you are making your own version of this painting, please do so and I'd be happy to look at it and comment. Please do remember that your version is to learn from and therefore not for resale, based upon my, demonstration and source photo... Thank you for respecting that - Навчання та стиль
I just wanted to say to all of you who added comments on a live feed as this tutorial aired. My apologies that I was not there to reply. I have completely misunderstood the Premiere launch. I do not know how to go back and reply, so please firstly thank you for the kind support of my tutorials. Secondly please do not be offended that I did not reply. I will examine the roles of a premiere for future weekly uploads.
It has a very apocalyptic feel to it🥇

I use a palette knife to release paper
I see a house with a very snow laden roof behind a wall, a frozen tree and a shadowed snowy field
What paper do you suggest, hot or cold press? I'm New to watercolor painting. Enjoy your tutorials so much!!!!!!
Wonderful play! Does the paint ever seep into the layers of unused papers on the block?? Or is there aways enough glue on all the sides?
Hi Barbara, never happened yet to me, they are normally good, cheers P
@@paulappswildlifeart Thanks so much, you are an awesome artist, beautiful work!

Hi Paul Apps, I love your last 2 abstract paintings, so inspiring. Do you always just use those 2 colours when you paint in this style, meaning the orange and Paynes Grey? Jan Macbeth
I use variety but those two for a little while now. I experiment with other options from time to time , have another out next week , cheers P .
