gotta say, the idea of a tarzan coaster sounds really cool. probably the one that sounds the most interesting to me. for the jungle cruise, i don't think the language barrier would still be an issue, if it ever was the problem. i mean, everything in the park is seamlessly bilingual. they imagineers know how to make it work by now
Tarzan would be amazing! I guess the problem with the language is that the communication is very based on jokes that wouldn't translate very well. Of course it could be done, so I don't think this was the main issue...
It’s different because the guests in Disneyland Paris about 45% are French but then you have English, German, Dutch, Spanish, Italian… in the meantime Tokyo Disney’s guests about 8% (before COVID) are non Japanese, meaning that they just speak in Japanese…
Thank you for sharing your video exploring the plans for cancelled Disneyland Paris attractions, The Main Street News! It's always interesting to learn about what could have been in the park and what didn't end up happening. The Spark Gap Coaster and the Matterhorn Bobsleds both sound like they would have been amazing attractions, and it's fascinating to see the concept art and learn more about their development. Also do you have any info on the tunnels bellow the station that allegedly would allow you to go to the Matterhorn?
Glad you found it interesting! I would love to see some of these concepts brought back! I’m sorry but I don’t have more info on those tunnels you mention… would these be under the train station? Something similar to the connection to the Casey Jr. area?
I think the electric tram idea was reused for tokyo disneysea. There are 2 stops, one in the american waterfront (not exactly victorian, but somewhere along the lines) and the other in port discovery (discoveryland right beside water).
Yes that’s right! The idea was used in Tokyo and to quite a success I might add, it looks amazing over there. One more example of how in imagineering nothing is forgotten!
@@themainstreetnews i also kinda hope the matterhorn project will be revived, since fantasyland needs a thrill ride; in fact, dlp needs a new attraction. It's been long overdue.
I was wondering if you are still going to make a “designing a new walt Disney studios” because i really enjoyed the designing a new Disneyland and would love to see your ideas/ideal walt Disney studios! :)
All the ideas in this video are amazing and I would welcome gladly…… except the Matterhorn bobsled :( as good as a attraction it is I think it’d be a bit dated now and the only relevance it would have is that its a nostalgic attraction for the California goers. I think the trams would have been a very very good idea however!
I personally haven’t received any information that’s not available to the public. From the looks of it, Natacha met with city officials to discuss the future of the area around of the resort and the resort itself as EuroDisney owns and co-owns a lot of land, which impacts thousands of people. Something that was on the plans since day one and is in full swing. There will be more of these meetings until summer 2024, as that’s when they plan on signing everything. The focus was on “phase 5”, which I’m not sure but could include the mythical third park. This plan would be more focused on the infrastructure, transportation and housing of the area than the plans Disney has for their theme parks. I guess I haven’t provided a lot of new info but it’s how I’d explain 😅
From what I’ve heard from podcasts with Tony Baxter jungle cruise was cancelled because all of the big european theme parks had copied jungle cruise already from the original Disneyland and Michael Eisner didn’t want people thinking they coppied it from the european themeparks.
But i thought It was going on a plan Next to the indiana Jones temple du peril for an expansión about the same IP for an atracttion similar to the dark ride in other Parks... How's that now It was too a Tarzán's Roller coaster ? Where It was supoosed to be located ??
There have been LOTS of proposed plans for that area, from a Pirates of the Caribbean land to a full on Indiana Jones land and the Tarzan Coaster. They never came to be and that area is still available
I have to say... just remove Indiana Jones and replace with something that will draw people to an empty part of the park. Or, extend the attraction so that there's a cool 'runaway' mine section going through the empty space available.
Just found this channel recently. It’s nice to have a quality source for DLP news and info.
Well, thank you! Glad to have you here!
The Main Street/Discoveryland tram would’ve been awesome, like Paris’ own PeopleMover. Would’ve loved to see another take on the jungle cruise though
I would've loved if that project ended up getting built!
Nice video! Very interesting to see more of these never realized attractions!
Glad you enjoyed it! I love to learn more about these cancelled projects and imagine what could've been!

@themainstreetnews isn't there one of the jungle cruises in Tokyo? That's a even bigger language barrier

@@themainstreetnews WDWNT mentioned this in their like 4 hour long video on the Matterhorn
@@Parkitecture Hmm, will have to investigate then...

@@idk-zt8rx Couldn't agree more!
Tarzan looks epic 🤩
It does look a lot of fun!
The Indiana Jones and Temple of the Forbidden Eye needs to be built in Paris.
I’d love to see that… it was indeed already planned, but never made it through…
The Tarzan coaster :( I would add from my pocket to have it pfffff would be a fckin dream... By the way, this channel became one of my favourites
Maybe one day! Oh, and thank you so much!
The Trazan coaster would have so cool
Tarzan looks great

I would love to that on the future! Currently it's not on the plans but probably will.
Such a shame that they didn't go through with the Tarzan Rollercoaster
Would be a very fun attraction...
I want that to happen! Maybe it’ll happen for Hong Kong Disneyland and Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

I think the Matterhorn would’ve been updated to fit with the current (or 1992’s) quality
Have you got any info on the meeting that happened today about the next phase of expansion?

@@themainstreetnews thanks for the reply, this makes it a little clearer.
Glad I could help! Hopefully I got everything right...
I always said they should build a Tarzan vine surfing-themed coaster, but I never knew they actually planned to do something like that.
Ooooh that would be fun!

That's very interesting! Hadn't heard that before, thank you for sharing!
where was the keelboat loading platform?
You can still find it in the park and in the App. It’s at the back of Frontierland just by the Pocahontas kid area!
@@themainstreetnews ah found it on google maps. did wonder why there was a random boat docked there, assumed it was just theming

Surprised Winnie The Pooh hasn't been planned for the park.
That’s true… it probably has and we haven’t talked about it though. There’s just so many shelved projects that we don’t know about!

Tarzan is such a missed opportunity.
It really is
