    Great review! Just an FYI on the taking of this onboard planes: i've checked a couple of airlines i'm flying with (Singaporeairlines and Ryanair), both allow up to 160Wh power banks if you have them in the cabin with you. However British Airways says 100Wh max.

      It rocks, I use a small solar panel to charge it. No issues. All around Beast :)

    👍 When you say storage mode, thinking batteries at 50% charge?

    • @todderbert

      correct, normally 3.6-3.7V on Lithiums.

    The manual on this leaves out far too much. I knew from reviews about the voltage meter, but not the low power mode. It's also pretty vague about the output with two ports in use. A+C or A+A presumably still allow PD/QC higher voltages but it's not clear which port will get which. Sometimes the C is prioritized, sometimes it's an even split, and (never in the manual) sometimes the power drops out when plugging in a 2nd device when the 1st one is using PD/QC. Not a big deal for charging, but annoying for some devices that reset/reboot on USB power on/off. Generally, I only use one port at a time, anyway, on power banks. On the AC - USB power adapters I often use two. Some of them will only do 5V with two ports in use. Probably they only have one power converter chip and can only produce one voltage at a time.
    I think the issue with some micro-USB cables is that they leave out the data lines, which are required to negotiate higher voltages, and may be required, depending on the device, to go above lower currents like 1 amp (or even 500mA). Sadly, a LOT of USB cords I've got with various things are like that. It was confusing enough that I bought a cable tester on AliExpress that shows if 2 or 4 lines are connected (and tests all connector combinations). Some of the USB testers, for C-to-C cables, can test for the "e-chip" that I think is required for 3A 60W or 5A 100W PD (not sure about 45w, I'm not sure).
    The XTAR was putting out less than 0.5Ax4Vx8=16W and drawing 26W? That's a little inefficient (

    Can this power bank be used to charge the romoss RS 300 power station, through the solar input? If so it would extend the run time.

    • @todderbert
      @todderbert Рік тому

      The RS 300 has AC/DC Auto/and Solar Inputs only. Its PD is Output only.

    I have a big problem: i have an one plus nord which has allows me to charge this phone with max. 30watt warp Charge. (5v /6A or 6v/ 5a)
    When i plug in the my one plus cable into the romoss pea30 powerbank (into the usb port) it gave me 5v and 3.8 amps. Why is that? Am i not supposed to get round 30 watts? Or should i use the usbc port?

    Just for G.P. , The SOLAR Power banks are good as well ---

    • @radellaf
      @radellaf Рік тому

      Have you had much luck getting them to charge much in, say, 6 hours of sun? I get nothing or very little, and they're really sensitive to temperature. On anything but a cool day, sunlight on black plastic will get to 50-60C which is a bit high for LiIon charging. On cold days, under 40F (and don't charge at all under 32) isn't great for charging, either.
      I _have_ had good luck with a four-panel "28W" (10-15 in reality) camping solar panel for charging power banks. You can put the bank in the shade so it doesn't overheat. The challenge is having it somewhere where: it's getting DIRECT sun, and nobody will steal it. If I was serious about solar, I'd get a 50-100W unit, preferably with PD output since those might have better (mppt?) voltage converters. $40-50 was about all I was willing to invest, as I don't go camping.

      Higher Output, though if you're just charging radios, the Sense 8 is the way to go when they are on sale.

    probably best to avoid this brand. lot of reviews on amazon show how these power banks expand cause of the batteries. lol bad investment.
