Beautiful! As someone who uses crochet thread for lace and other dainty crochet items, I appreciate your lack of commitment in not gluing anything into those vintage spools. I have literally every color imaginable of crochet thread and now I have a decorative use for them when they're not being used for projects.

That lace armcover is part of an Antimacassar set. It doesn't have a separate name for the arm piece. Antimacassars became very popular when hair oil was leaving residue on everyone's chairs. The popular hair oil was Macassar so ladies started making 'Anti-macassars', and made the matched sets with arm covers. The piece you used was filet-crochet...and making those matching image sets became very popular.

Thank you for giving me another idea for using my grandmother's doilies. She passed away last October and I have all of her doilies. I can't wait to use them on the cutting board idea that you showed. I will have to send you a picture. I used some of the doilies last Christmas to make an angel and she turned out so stinking cute. I was a dead bride one year for Halloween found a wedding dress at the Salvation Army for 13.00(back in the day)..add combat boots makeup dark great costume❤and great projects ❤
