    I have always wanted the Modori Korean Sodam Cookware set after seeing it on a variety of my favourite bloggers channels. However, they were far too expensive for me to justify getting here in the UK (as is more expensive due import fees, customs etc). Then I saw these and they looked just as aesthetic and functional! I think it is a really good dupe to the Modori pans for people outside of Korea ☺️

    So youtube randomly put this my way and ended up watching the whole thing. Don't worry too much about the silicone, I've had a pastel pink spatula for years that I'm not careful with at ALL and not a stain on it.
    Whole vid was super chill, vibes are correct, cat's 11/10, food looked amazing (add some acid like vinegar or lemon juice and it'll do magic for that recipe too)
    Peace

      Thank you so much for your super lovely comment, it has really made my day 💕 I will try adding something acidic next time to take this recipe to the next level! Also the silicone thing gives me hope as I am so clumsy I have already accidently ruined a handle by leaving it on the smallest frying pan which was on too small an oven ring 🤣 but apart from that incident touch wood the rest of the pans and second handle have stayed in really good nick! Thank you so much again ❤️

    On the Amazon listing it says induction does that mean it’s not meant for a gas stove or it works for both ?

    Hi! What a lovely video and charming cat!
    I'm wondering if you're still using the pan and how are the conditions right now.
    Do you usually use wooden utensils or silicone? If you use wooden one, do you notice any stracth on it?
    Thank you!

    • @nekoikou
      @nekoikou  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi I mainly use wooden but occasionally a silicone spatula with no scratches, the only scratches we got was some very tiny ones when we think a knife accidently ended up in it when we were taking it to be washed in the outbuilding when camping in the Netherlands (doh! 😅). With wooden and metal no scratches.
      I have some slight discolouration around the metal part on the bottom of one pan from putting the heat a bit too high once but the insides are all still fine 🤗
      My advice is don't use it on high heat, only hand wash and no metal utensils and they stay in good nick.
      Am hopefully going to edit a video today which will come out later in the week where I use the pans again, so keep an eye out for it 😊

      @@CynthiaLamanda I use it whenever I cook which is 2 or 3 times a week (as I more often do batch cooks mixed with slow cooked) my fiancés doesn't use them as he's too scared of spoiling them 😂 He also prefer high heat cooking, so for searing and high heat use a different pan, I use my air fryer for high heat stuff 🔥

    • @CynthiaLamanda
      @CynthiaLamanda 5 місяців тому

      @@nekoikou I see. So these pans are not suitable for high heat usage. Is it because of the detachable handle? I saw that other brands also suffer from the same issue with their handle 😅

    • @nekoikou
      @nekoikou  5 місяців тому

      @@CynthiaLamanda any pan which is pale on the inside will not tolerate high heat as it will discolour the inside of the pan, it's not so much the handles as can detach them so they are not on long enough for the heat to bother them, it must be to do with the coating of the ceramic if it's a light colour it will discolour brown if the heat gets too high, it's why it'd be good for someone to do one like these but maybe a nice brown on the inside so can tolerate higher heat

    I've been suprised few minutes ago with "Amazon" at my doorsstep with a big pack (Birthday Gift in advance lol)... It was a Set of pans like yours.....however I am concerned about cooking with that as it says only to use low and minimum heat...and also don't know if a season my food with all types of herbs,/paprika/turmeric/onions/garlic...if they will cause stains on my pans. Mu cooker is Brand "Beko" ceramic...and I use to cook with my Stainless Steel old pans on nr. 6 (which means high heat). Can I use all tyoes of seasoning to prepre the meals?
    Could you please help with the information I need? I've alwas been cooking with "Stainless Steel" pans...so now I do not know if I need also grease always or only on first use.
    Thanks a lot. I am really concerned about using my pans...as I was not expecting this kind of Birthday's Gift.

      Hi, apologies for the late reply, my notifications weren't working properly!
      In answer to your question I use quite vibrant seasonings in these pans, most recently my own kimchi (which stains most surfaces vivid purple as I use red cabbage) and herbs such as Korean red pepper flakes and gochuchang, I use garlic and ginger all the time no issue
      Surprisingly I have not tried turmeric in them yet, I should absolutely try that I ran out a bit back and haven't replaced it but I love it in curries!
      Being honest I'll happily give it a shot and update when done as confident considering it survives me stir frying my super staining kimchi with no issues along with tomato soup I think turmeric will be ok, but I'll update this comment officially when I have tried out the old turmeric 😋
      Also add in would not recommend high heat, will defs scorch the pans, medium at most in the bigger pans (e.g. the wok) and low for all the others, I always use medium to low heat as they heat up pretty quickly, I just chop veg or something in the meantime ☺️

    How are enjoying them now? I was thinking about buying them. Has there been any stains or peeling?

    • @nekoikou
      @nekoikou  4 місяці тому

      Hi thank you for asking! There has been peeling only on one of the handles which I stupidly left one time on one of the small pans instead of taking it on and off like you should (with it being a removable handle)
      In terms of discolouration only a slight bit of browning around the bottom ring on the outside but none higher up on the outside and none on the inside. The outside is cause I was inpatient and put it up to mid high heat one time, naughty me!
      I can’t use them below mid heat and have to hand wash them, for me it is still worth it as I love the aesthetic and am happier cooking with them 😊 I am posting a video tomorrow at 9am where I cook with the wok pan (my most used of the bunch) so feel free to check it out to see how it’s doing.its also recorded on a better quality camera (not my mobile)
      Best wishes 🤗

    I've been thinking about getting these. Can you provide a current update on how they're going for you? Do you still like them just as much? Have they stained from food?

    • @nekoikou
      @nekoikou  Рік тому +6

      Current update all my pans bar the smallest pan are still in perfect shape 😄 the food will only stain the white silicone on the pan lids, so my advice is just be careful if any gets on the outside of the lid wipe it straight away, so far I have not had this issue
      I messed up the smallest frying pan (my bad had on too high a heat setting on too large a ring on the hob like a fool 😅) so has some light scotch marks but the food never stained, it was when I was making vegan omelettes
      Also do NOT leave the handle attached unattended on flame, especially on the smallest pan like I did on too big a hob for the pan as the silicone on the handle will melt! The handle I have done this to is still perfectly functional just not as aesthetically pleasing 😞 so those are the mistakes to avoid if you get this pan set, but you'll see from my other vids that all my pans bar the smallest pan are all just as when I got them and have the spare handle which I am now being more careful with 😅
      I still have no regrets getting this pan set as it makes me enjoy cooking so much more but for some the extra hassle of hand washing and being a bit more careful may not be worth that, only you will know if you prefer to put in a bit more work to have more aesthetic pans
      I hope this helped in your decision 🤗

    is the handle strong enough to holding food? I'm worried it will come off when cooking :(

    • @nekoikou
      @nekoikou  Рік тому +2

      I have filled the wok to full and had no issues with the handle ever coming off, it feels very sturdy
      What I would say is DO NOT leave the handle on when not supervised/ long periods of time
      I stupidly used the smallest pan on too big an oven ring and left the handle on the whole time, this melted the silicone on the grippy part of the handle! It still works absolutely fine but has slightly marked that small pan and the handle doesn't look as pretty anymore 😞 despite my mistreatment it still works!
      And luckily the larger set comes with 2 handles so clumsy people like me have a spare one to now use in her videos 😅
      It's not as big an issue with the large pans (had done it with them and got away with it as the handle is higher up away from the flame) but still don't risk it to keep your pans looking lovely 🤗

    Nice video! Was looking for a wedding gift and this seems perfect thank you ❤
    One question though: Doesn't using the handblender hurt the nonstick layer? Or do you not touch the bottom with it?

    • @nekoikou
      @nekoikou  10 місяців тому

      The handstick blender I use (like most of them) is designed so the blade does not touch the bottom of the pan, so is safe to use even in non-stick pans like this as there is a plastic bit that touches tha base and the blade is higher up in it so it blitzes the food without touching the pan, I hope that makes sense 🤗

    • @nekoikou
      @nekoikou  Рік тому

      Sorry for the delay, had to view this on my computer and use google translate before I could answer your question
      The answer is, yes! As long as used on medium low heat and hand washed the pans still perform very well :)
      I did mess up with the smallest frying pan pan by putting it on way too big a hob ring on high heat, and left the handle attached, like a fool :'D The pan is still usable but has a slight scorch mark on it. So in short do not use on high heat, do not leave the handles on any longer than needed, and ensure you are using the correct hob size for the pan (e.g. big is fine for the wok, not for the small frying pan).
      My next upload will show me using the pans again to either make some ratatouille or some teriyaki pork so you can check that they are still in good condition :)
      Many thanks for your comment!
