“This will probably be the safest flight you’ve ever been on because my wife says it has to be.” 😂😂
He actually says "and NOT because my wife says it has to be", if you listen closely
@@BiggyJimbo "and that because my wife says it has to be". That's what I understood lol.
“I’m authorizing free drinks to anybody who wants one. We’ll put it on Delta’s Tab.”
- Captain Conrad
Hell of a Pilot, an even better Man.
He almost teared up when he spoke about 1976. That literally shows his passion for flying planes.
Went from flying steam gauge analogs cable driven systems to flying by monitor and wire
“Don’t be surprised if we do a few celebratory barrel rolls”

Now here on I am looking for flights with pilots flying on their last day 🤓
Why on earth am I a bit emotional? Probably because THIS GENTLEMAN delivered MY family, MY friends and co-workers, neighbors and acquaintances ... safely ... from one part of this great country to another. Thank you, Captain Conrad. You're FREE to roam about the Cabin of Retirement. (Salute!)
@@lerq0ux no. I was just imagining that "someone" in my circle (after so many years of service by this man) had a connection... directly or indirectly, from his piloting work
As a student pilot I can say that I’m in tears. He was once in my position… wow. I aspire to be like him one day.
His voice shows how much he loved his work, Applause from me too... 👏
Flight in (every form it is) is not a work (for the pilots) it's a passion and i think there will never be a pilot that says ''i go to work'' the will say '' i go fly''
(sorry for English but i am not a native English speaker)
He literally retired at the best possible moment.
He really did, right before all hell broke loose with Covid and pilots were probably losing their job left and right
He would have made a fortune in severance had he been impacted after 45 years of service. So technically the worst time to retire 🙄
The worst possible moment you mean. If he had not retired, they likely would have forced retirement on him with a golden parachute and unemployment payments that were further more than doubled by the feds. He would have made bank for not working, instead he got nothing.
As the son of another Delta pilot, I thank him for his service to Delta and his passengers!
Bruh can you ask your dad to pay for my flight training please? I need CAD$100,000
@@xpeppi2464why would someone give a third of what they make in a year to someone who isn't gonna follow through 😂
I’ve seen this video of captain Conrad a few times now and it never fails to make me cry. You can just tell that he’s retiring after all those years from the vocation which he surely loves and the emotion in his voice never fails to reduce me to tears. Happy retirement Captain Conrad, you’re a true inspiration!! From Julie in the uk ❤
“free drinks for everyone! including me”
*pilot walks out of the cabin drunk as hell and starts partying with the passengers*
"Because this is my last flight I will be attempting some crazy stuff. So buckle up"
I’m getting really emotional for this captain and his family . I worked for Pan Am for 25 years so I know what it means to this captain .. when you know this is finally it, your last flight. It’s So emotional and I’m starting to cry again. thank you captain for keeping us all safe throughout your career. God bless you for everything you’re going to do in your future.❤ Hugs and kisses.
U can tell how much he cares for his work the fact that he teared up a few times proves it
There are 2 different types of comments:
"I'm crying"
and
"What if the passengers thought it was their last flight"
I thought when I clicked on the video I would just hear screaming lmao
“Order whatever you want and we’ll put it on Deltas tab” LMFAO😭

I wasn't even on this flight, and the emotions are just as strong as if I was. I admire the loyalty that goes into people's passions and professions. Whatever this pilot is doing today, I hope he is happy & thriving ✈️
They should've given him a standing ovation and thanked him for his service. Hope everyone did so as they disembarked. God bless him and his family always. Here's to an even greater mission over the years that follow.
This guy retired and the whole Aviation Industry got grounded, we need him back.
Actually he is lucky to have retired before airports go bankrupt
@@omgaustria-hungary1192 lol they ll get bailed out my country already bailed them out i m sure US ll do the same
Can't. Mandatory retirement is 65 for pilots.
Can't say I agree with forcing a healthy person to retire, but it's how the law is written. :(
Imagine having to fly to fucking Detroit as your last flight as a pilot.
@@jacobdoolan4978 too late detroit has taken you're flight

Thank you Mr. Conrad! Your service is much appreciated!
i sense bit of peter griffin in his voice. On a more serious note this was a really wholesome thing to watch and I'm happy i got recommended it. What a great a guy!
Very moving moment. seems a very good gentleman and a pilot as well. respect and love from Sydney
I hope you are enjoying retirement. We definitely miss people like you. I am million miler and frequent air traveller myself. I know how challenging sometimes flying can be.
That moment when you realize that he probably has more hours flying than i have spent sleeping.
@@Ali-AbbassR Assuming someone sleeps for 8 hours a day, 365 days a year, that's 2920 hours of sleep a year. So if a pilot clocked in 25,000 hours, they've spent 8.6 years of sleep in. 7 years is certified as accurate.
Man’s dedicated so much to this. That’s a man who’s persistent and won’t stop even if he fails and has to get back up after being put down. Thank you for your service 🙏🏽.
This was beautiful. What an awesome achievement. You can tell he loves what he does! Best of luck to him in his retirement... from one pilot to another.
Just 2 months after his retirement, the whole airline industry across the world came to a stop for so many months..
What a great way for folks to appreciate him and the airline. Bless his entire family!
There’s something so sweet about this moment. I’ve had a tough week and I’m glad to see such a proud, hard working dad , make us look a tiny bit bad because he made it look so darn easy there, I don’t know how you had the strength to not cry but thank you for every second of your service in the sky’s.
45 years flying. That's incredible. My dream career is to become a pilot.
He seems like a good hearted guy. He has a monster pension coming! LOL

Hi, my family and I appreciate all of the kind thoughts and comments from everyone, and we are very humbled this experience has been appreciated by so many. Respectful comments are appreciated, this is my family!
I love this I want to go to the air force academy and become a pilot one day as well
Do you know that a lot of people used to say bad things to me on my channel?
Who in the world would dislike this video or say something negative? This man has served his country, family, collègues and customers honorably for decades. I hope he received the traditional water salute. He has earned the public’s respect. Well done sir!!
Astonishing figures of a very privileged professional. May his well deserved retirement be stress free.
Respect to you and your family, sir. Shows how passionately and dedicated you were towards your sky. You retired after conquering the skies, a dream few can go for.
How nice is that? Congrats on the retirement and thank you for all the safe flights over the years!
He’s lying about it being a safe flight we all know when you go over Detroit the plane gets stolen mid air
I just hung up my flying jacket for the last time after forty years. I was taught by a former wartime spitfire pilot, Ginger Lacy. How things have changed. Emotional. Enjoy your retirement.
Enjoy your retirement Ben! 40 years of always making it down safely. As a seasoned flyer, I thank-you!
That title scared me for a minute.
I am so happy for your Dad! Congrats Dude ❤️
the fact that he reffered to the years of his service, not a job, rather he labelled it as "life." Really shows that he is truly passionate about his job and the fact that he is retiring really makes him sad, wish everyone in this video the best!!
Thank you for sharing this special moment for your dad and your family. God bless!
Awe, thank you for taking us safely through the skies Captain. This brought a tear to my eye.
I'm happy he wasn't laid off because of COVID-19 economic effects. This was definitely a good way to end a 43 year career.
Made me tear up. That’s a man that loves his craft and the people he served all those years. That’s a special man! Thank you for sharing!
Sadness -- especially sadness born of nostalgia and transition like this -- is just such a gloriously beautiful thing. I don't understand a great many things about the world, but the realization that people push down on this emotion is just absolutely alien to me. As my favourite comedian once said, "When you're sad, you have to just *be* sad. You have to stand there and let it hit you like a truck. Because if you can't feel sad, you can't feel anything."
Much respect from a fellow pilot!! Wish for you and your family a magnificent life!!
I’m just getting into the aviation world and it’s people like your dad that make aviation a special field. Hope he’s doing well and enjoying retirement.
sometimes i just look at a youtube vid and wonder : “how the hell can anyone dislike this vid “
@Farb S There is a "im not interested in this video" button and even a "im not interested in this channel" button. So why dont they do that?
There's two reasons every YT video gets dislikes. 1 missclicks, 2 people don't want to see that type of content and discourage the algorithm
This brings happy memories of the day when my dad drove his electric milk delivery cart for the final morning after serving 45 plus years. It was an emotional moment when the community that he served all showed their gratitude by standing at their doorsteps and waved milk bottles. Dad's closest mate had fixed a mic on the cart itself which allowed him to say his goodbye to his faithful clients in words that I had carefully scripted.
@Reakold Wasnoo if it put food on the table and joy in his heart I think it’s great
That was AWESOME. Congratulations on all of your achievements Captain. Much respect sir. ✈️
Living legend ❤... 🙌 I'm also emotional, I'm a real fan of aviation so seeing a retiring legend after 43 years of service is really something else for me❤
My dad was a pilot for Delta for 32 years. He took his last flight in March of last year, right after lock down started, without knowing it would be his last one. I wish I could have shared this type of experience with him. I dreamed of being on his retirement flight for years. Thank you for sharing this with us. It really helped me get some closure
Awh that’s such an awful shame, I’m sorry to hear you didn’t get to do that with him. 😊🇬🇧
@@drpixal oh . I thought she meant flights stopped because of lockdown . Therefore he took an early retirement.
@@popcornboxing369 she clearly stated that he didn't know it was going to be his last flight and that she wished she could have see him retire like this guy. That leads to think he probably died due to COVID-19 or he just passed away in the lockdown time frame.
What a great guy. He should feel justly proud along with his wife and family. I'm sure the passengers must have felt super safe.
Have a wonderful retirement.
Im glad that he loved his job and he had fun he deserves respect for how long hes been doing this thank you for everything you do😊
We flew out of Hawaii, whose captain took his whole family to HI to fly back to mainland for his final flight. The 3 men in charged for the flight were all named Bob. We also rode through the airport firetrucks that had a water tunnel our plane passed under to commemorate the occasion. It was sweet.
Imagine he messed his lines ="it's gone be your last flight"
Passengers = :-¤
I can’t imagine how hard it must’ve been knowing that you’re sitting in the cockpit for the final time
I assume a lot of pilots buy bush planes and other small aircraft to keep themselves going. It's definitely hard giving up what you love to do, especially so abruptly as a final flight would feel.
He can still fly aircraft as a private pilot. The day when you cant pass the medical exam the day you're truly done flying.
hell naw, this man already has the plane dealer on speed dial, he’s buying a Cessna and enjoying his retirement with millions and a 20 year old wife.
This is so wholesome, I hope that pilot continues to have a great and healthy life!

Funny that I come across this. My wife will hang up her FA wings at the end of this month.
