Just look up why Budget Eats is no longer in production. Yes a lot of factors there, but also hiring staff for one job and then never paying them for the additional job as talent in monetised videos is gross and wrong.

The food was free. They said they would order up to $600 worth of food. That’s payment in it’s own way since they didn’t pay for it. It does seem like if the show was popular and made ad revenue they would get paid something though for their time. I’m not sure how much profit they made or if they had sponsorship deals.
I really don't like delish's trend of not paying their hosts fairly. Now that Julia tries everything and June is over, no reason to support this channel anymore. Bye delish! 👋

It's actually really interesting to hear that Julia's mom is a pastry chef. It puts in context Julia's talent to dissect the flavor profile of dishes in such a vivid and clear way
She doesn't describe the food any other way than an average diner does.

Julia tries everything is the only reason I subscribed to delish! I cannot believe she's not been paid for the insane amount of hosting work she's done on top of her regular job. Maybe think about giving her a fair share of the revenue off those videos.....just a thought.
This show became my comfort show during the pandemic, and I would re-watch it just because it was an escape from the crazy world and Julia made me laugh. I'll keep watching the old eps every once in a while as I've always done!
Round of applause to Julia's response to what she does for working out or eating prior to or after filming those videos. I'm sure the question was innocent, but it can be pretty triggering for some if they have any type of body dysmorphia or eating disorders. Basically, it's in a similar realm to asking someone how much they weigh or what size clothes they wear. Aside from that soapbox moment, I really enjoyed watching these videos over the years. Lots of great food to see to give ideas of where to go and lots of laughs in between. Looking forward to seeing what's to come in the future.
I would love to see this series with local restaurants, bakeries, cafes etc from across the country, and maybe eventually internationally. I loved Julia and Chelsea but a new host could put a new perspective on things as well. Just me trying to say that this series doesn't have to be over forever!

The fact that you actually went through physical pain due to ibs to do this show and weren't getting paid for it just shows the amount of dedication and passion. THANK YOU Julia for answering the workout question the way you did!! As someone who also has a history of eating disorders, the concept that you have to "work off" the food you eat or "earn" your food by burning calories is so toxic and triggering. Your answer was absolute perfection.

I started this show off with a toxic ex and a completely different career and now i've gotten rid of the ex and jumpstarted my new job. We used to love watching this show together but my now soon to be fiancee and I are loving rewatching every single episode. Wishing you both the best in your future endeavors !!!

It's really amazing you guys were able and are able to do the things you are passionate about, I really enjoyed every episode.
A lot of the times my multiple sclerosis was flaring and I would be unable to eat but watching you always helped. You described the food in such a way that I was able to push through because it sounded good.
I will definitely miss the episodes but am very happy you guys will continue to do what you love.

During the early days of covid, I used to rewatch all the episodes. Sitting alone at home after work eating a meal, it became company. And I was able to forget how the world really was, and while watching those videos everything was as it used to be.
So thank you for keeping me company.
Chels, Jules, I hope you both know how much joy you've brought to many of us fellow foodies. I would rewatch every episode during pandemic when I was having homesick feelings for my favorite restaurants, and it was like watching my best friends sending long video messages and including me in their journey. I'm not crying, you're crying. I love you both so much and will miss the show so much. You both are so cute, so funny, so personable, so smart! FYI, I have watched every episode at least once and it never, never took me a while to love the show. Julia, you are NOT fat, please stop saying that and thinking that. And actually some of my fav episodes were during Covid. The team was so creative doing the best you could do in a bad situation for this type of show. And Chelsea, I love every time you were on camera, as well as your comments during the shows. Some of my fav Covid shows are when you two and Tess were cooking in your own kitchen to make things with June's direction.
