I'm so glad I found your channel a few months ago. They are fun to watch and I'm learning so much about saltwater aquariums. I've had mine for 3 years now and feel that I finally got the hang of it. I'm still learning and learn a lot from yourself. Plues, I love Noodle!!!
Absolutely love your tank! It reminds me of a shallow reef nearby the coastline with beautiful crystal clear water and white sand. Very organic and natural looking. Well done 👏
Spent my leave day watching your aquarium videos. 😂 Feels so calming, and I liked how you made keeping reef aquarium look fairly simple in your videos. Good contents.
Hello from France 😊. It’s important for me to thank you for your work and your videos. It’s a real pleasure to see that and it’s so realaxing! I’m a beginer reef keeper and your are a source of inspiration for me.
Okay - so I’ve always loved your videos, but oh my golly gosh your ‘Noodle’ is just cuteness overload! Not sure which update I’m most looking forward to - your tank or Noodle!😀😍
New sand will do that, I added about 10lbs of crushed coral and I had an outbreak of diatoms, which a lot of people say is good actually. Diatoms is a building block to other bacteria. As for the skimmer, I just drain it 1-2 times a week as needed. I am too lazy to clean the cup and neck every week, I do it about 3-4 weeks. Keep an eye on your salinity because a lot of wet skim will lower it without you knowing it. Looks good and love noodle. He is a puppy and is not off the walls, impressed.
Great video. The music with the printed explanations. I do like how you got it all to work wel. I have a friendly suggestion, and maybe you did this, and that is to pre rinse and soak all equipment, before placing them into the tank. THere are manufacturing chemicals and oils that are a part of all plastics and metals. Thanks for the video. Awesome
Nice clip again... i check my skimmer cup daily, and clean it every 2 weeks. Hope to see more about the new fish in the next clip. Greetings from Germany
Never ever wash the skimmer's inside surface with sopnge...it creates micro scratches on the acrylic and it wont perform well in the future as the surface becomes rough
I clean the cup and neck every 2 weeks and the pump once a month. I have it connected to an Avast Skimmate Locker so the Skimmate drains into a larger container that has a carbon filter to help with the stink. This will also prevent overflows because it has a pressure switch that turns the skimmer off if it's full. I empty that about once a month.
Love your videos man, from a fellow reefer in Canberra. So calming and I like your perfectionism with everything you do! I’m running the Great White GW7+ skimmer on my WB60.2. Looking to get a 105.4 or 130.4 down the road, so keenly following your journey 🙂
Now I don't know what I like more, your new aquarium or your puppy. My dog (more than a dog, a son) the one you see on my profile, died three months ago after sharing with me for more than 17 years. Aquariums have helped me a lot to get through that episode. I still work on my marine fish tank. Unfortunately I still don't think I have it ready for corals :-(
Sorry for your loss Jorge. Dogs are the best companion and losing them is like losing a family member 😔 Good luck with your tank! I'm sure you'll be fine 😊
I empty mine every 2-4 days. But never really clean it. Also nice to see you can put your hands in there without a Nemo attacking you. Mine is very aggressive.
@bluereeftank Dont stress over the tap water rinsing. I've been using tap water for 5 years plus in the hobby. I honestly have had no issues after the first year. Granted it all depends on how harsh your water is but I am in the city so mine can not be that good. I just run it with a uv sterilizer and prime dechlorinater for 24 hours before a water change. Depending on your water source RODI units can sometimes remove to much from the water
@@BlueReefTank yay 🥰 I hope it soon! 🥰 my tank not here yet, it got taked by customs, unfortunately it have free bottle starter bacteria in with it so australia customs get angry, hopefully I get it soon, it might get sent back Canada first then it need be sent again tho 😔 will see next week, I only find out about customs take it yesterday and make phone calls and send emails yesterday evening 🤷♂️😊 I buyed my rock a couple days ago tho, and start break it up, I have art reef rocks glue should be here this week too so I can start making some aquascape 🥰 it very exciting 🐶🥰 please pat noodle and tell him he a good boy just like me! 🥰🐶❤️
I really like your content and your way of zen filmmaking. It inspired me to start tracking and filming my own tank progress as a kind of vlog. Not ready for youtube yet. How do you film keeping the colors? I get very blue footage. Do you use an orange filter or change the light settings when filming? I use my Iphone 13 pro.
Are you still using the Voss dosing containers? I think they look great and want to try them too, any idea on what bulkheads / tubing you’re using? Hope you’re well!
Thanks for the update 💪🏻☀️🌴 even the box of your new skimmer looks pro 😂 i use the nyos 120, great performance om my frag 105.4 ! Curious if the tank manages the cyano outbreak on it’s own 🐠
Hi, after seeing your new skimmer I bought the smaller model and it makes a really loud humming noise that can be heard from anyone in the house, is yours that loud? Thanks.
Superb video as always. I really like the colour and size of the new sand. Not sure if that's available in the UK? Cyanobacteria looks horrendous, but like you say it's a waiting game for the beneficial bacteria to outcompete. Looking forward to the next instalment 🙂👍

it woild be absolutely awesome if you could point me to where I could get the same containers and setup that you culture your phytoplankton in! 😮 I absolutely NEED that set up! It’s so clean and organized ! Pleassssse tell me it’s possible to find those! 🙏🥹

Another perfect vid. That skimmer looks huge. Tank looks beaut. Also what a cute dog !!
Love the look of this skimmer. I clean my skimmers every week.

I really like your videos. Very calm and relaxing. A pleasure to watch! Greetz from the Netherlands 👋

Nice job keeping that skimmer clean and thanks for watching, Steffen!

You only wash with cotton or with your palm
as always Hansen an outstanding video!!! i get so sad when they finish tho i love watching them so much!!!!
Thanks Nathan! I will try to make a longer video next time 😊

My nemo is suprisingly calm haha
I have a similar tank it’s the reef 130.4 and we have the same dog! Lol super cute. What kind of star fish was that around 9:46?
It's called the red sea star :)

beautyfull aquarium reff tank.pozdrowienia z POLAND:)
That’s a really beautiful box
I believe I’d adjust that skimmer down a box t to make the skim collection a bit dryer.
I also have the 105.4 frag, lovely tanks. Yours is looking great after such a short time. I clean my skimmer every 3/4 days. Keep up the good videos 👍
I also clean my skimmer every 3 days. Otherwise the smell is just too much

Thanks for the update 💪🏻☀️🌴 even the box of your new skimmer looks pro 😂 i use the nyos 120, great performance om my frag 105.4 ! Curious if the tank manages the cyano outbreak on it’s own 🐠
Is that normal to a newly setup? Haviing unwanted algae and that string thingy?
How is the air intake noise level? I have a BM curl 9+ DC for my big tank the air intake noise is quite loud.
It makes this sound like a fridge but not as loud
@@BlueReefTank yes it sounds like a fridge!
Noodle is a heartbraker .💔 😁
How long time leave the skimmer on at the day
Just wondering if it’s OK to unpack the skimmer and place it in the sump without washing it first…. Is that a common thing?
I haven't had any issue so far but if you're unsure, it's definitely best to rinse it 🙂
Keep up the good work
Thanks John!
Awesome!
Hi, after seeing your new skimmer I bought the smaller model and it makes a really loud humming noise that can be heard from anyone in the house, is yours that loud?
Thanks.
Mine isn't that loud especially once I close the door. Maybe there's something stuck underneath?

Love that sand. It's not easily blown by the pump or wavemaker.
omg perfect timing lol
Mx🇲🇽 here
You are amazing 🌱✨
Thanks Alexis!
I would recommend watching your nutrient levels. They will bottom out. And you will get Dino’s
Thanks for the tip! My nutrient is almost non existent and I am feeding my tank heavily every day to increase it 😕
The Paleo sand is M or S ?
That Skimmer is such a Vertex 180i knock off😂😂
Most of them look identical to be honest 😄
What light settings do you use?
The one from BRS recommendation 🙂
noodle is a good boi...
Check your phosphate level. I think your nutrients could be imbalanced due to the new sand and that's why you could have cyano problems.
It's currently undetectable which could be the reason why. I am currently feeding really heavy at the moment to raise the phosphate
Look up redfield ratio ; the cyano comes from an in balance of no3 and po4
From 🇷🇺 👍👍👍
what fish shop do u go to??
I go to many 😄
oh😁😄do you have any recommendations (im in melb too lol)
Can you give your playlist for these musics?
can bluetangs fit in a tank like that?
Some people say yes, some people say no. I'd say yes but only temporary depending on the size of the tang
yes!!! I've been waiting for ya
anyway, how about introducing him (blue-eyed bristletooth) in a new video
I think everyone want to greet him :D
Sure thing! 😃
You could try to add a Mushroom garden
Great idea but mushroom can get quite big. Hence why I am a bit hesitant 😕
@@BlueReefTank u can frag them and place back on rock if it gets too big
They heal fast
