Scott actually shouted you out on a recent podcast episode of The Drunk Riders, and your editing/videos reminds me of how Casey Neistat does his. This was a great video from beginning to end, and seeing Jack’s reaction of getting those epic shots is exactly how most of us photographers feel when getting the perfect shot!
I was a member of coasterforce pretty much since I was born, and i remember going to the meet-ups, will always hold a place in my heart. I find it kind of upsetting having that side of the group near forgotten about now, to now days recently having meet ups pretty much cancelled. I will sometimes watch my mums videos to try bring back memories and to see parks for what they used to be. And I’m happy that I can say I was on the news for a coaster, even if I was in a pram
This was a phenomenal video. Getting to see what Scott does behind the scenes is truly remarkable. CoasterForce has been one of the top channels in the game for many years, and the channel is going to continue to grow for many years to come :)
Possibly one of the best videos of the solar eclipse i've seen this year. I love your videos, back in the day your channel was my source of POV's to build K'Nex coasters.
I feel really lucky to have gotten this in my recommended! Really great production and awesome insight into how Coaster Force does it. Total hidden gem of a video
This video was incredible!!! Great job! That's how I overcame my fear of roller coasters was watching Coaster Force and Theme Park Review. I always had a fascination with roller coasters, but was scared to ride. It took so called friends to ditch me to go ride roller coasters that I started facing my fears. Started off with all wood and 100 feet or less, to riding SooperDooperLooper and the rest is history. I still have a slight fear when it comes to different coasters like I305 just because of the blackouts have me scared and Manta because you are laying down. I can't wait for the day that you get to go to Holiday World!
Hey man just a bit of feedback, your camera work felt quite dizzying and jarring at times, like at 9:47 the heavy camera movement and zooming in was really disorientating. Other than that it was a good video and an interesting watch. Keep up the good work!
BRYAN! My man!!! This has gotta be your best work yet! You totally managed to keep me wanting more for the whole 26 minutes… Keep it up! Also, what Scott said holds so true. PLEASE if you know what’s good for you and those around you, secure your phones on rides and leave it to the professionals :D
Parks need to allow mounted cameras for those that wish to record, like the Busch Gardens parks. I recently went to BGW and had no problem filming all the rides because the park allowed me to do it safely, I think this would help a ton of parks if they adopted this way of thinking about recording on rides 👍❤️
so how does one become a professional? everyone always says leave things to professionals but never says how to get into that kind of work if one wants to do that kind of work
I would say you work on your craft. Scott had tried several ideas on his own before putting them on rollercoasters, so practice. Find the small wins as you learn and grow - and hit up the places you’d like to work with and send them a proposal when you are ready. Best of luck to you!
I'm surprised by how amateur this is, the first step is to find your composition before you start rigging supports. I'm also shocked it's just a gopro, wouldn't it be better to rig up a proper camera that can shoot a wide 8K60 raw shot, that can be re-framed to both 16:9 and 9:16, ans graded properly to show the dark and light sections without the janky auto-exposure etc. That sounds like overkill but if you're gonna make a big deal about being super professional and doing this amount of rigging, you may aswell actually shoot it properly. I've mounted a Z9 with a 70-200 to my car with section cups before it's not that bad
The difference here is time and budget. To rig an 8K60fps camera would’ve taken MUCH longer and would cost exponentially more. You’re talking a $30000 setup versus a $2000 setup and a rig that takes 30 minutes or less to set up versus hours and hours. A larger rig would also require modifications to the ride vehicle, etc. which simply wasn’t possible. Yes, in a perfect world, a “proper rig” would be ideal, but given our circumstances this setup worked perfectly. Also, you’re talking about a car versus a roller coaster. These are two completely different beasts. A car doesn’t deliver nearly the force/vibration of a roller coaster and safety is much more of a concern with a roller coaster. I’ve rigged cars plenty of times, including Indy cars on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for HGTV. Apples to oranges. And regarding composition, we had our shot composed but due to the complexity of the train we had to reimagine our rig. -Scott
No theme parks pay bloggers to film on coasters. You may get free admission or meals and hotels, but no parks are paying you to film. Very misleading and FALSE title.
