As far as getting the springs to work correctly
I don’t know 100 percent what the issue is but I am guessing it is lack of tension?
The springs originally are looped twice
So basically it is held in and then tensioned by wrapping the spring around another full rotation and then putting the piece on
Sometimes you can heat up the spring to make it more flexible temporarily

I ordered a Buzz figure from eBay a week or so ago. The part of the wings that extend are not working properly. One of them sticks while other doesn’t go in properly. What would be the best way to fix them?
Also the blue light on the utility belt doesn’t work. Can this be fixed?
The wing that sticks might be fixable
The one that won't go in most likely has a broken clip
I have done videos on my channel showing how to take apart the wing if you look at my how to take apart a buzz playlist it should be in there
As far as the utility belt I could probably fix it for sure
It is probably the easiest repair out of all the issues mentioned
Either a wire is snapped or the led got corroded either way it is probably repairable
I’m working on a custom buzz lightyear, and the right wing will lock in place and open, but it won’t shoot out like the left wing. Any ideas?
The inner latch is probably broken
Does the small white clasp on the outside of the wing move at all?

It can be a variety of reasons but most of the time it isn’t reparable as the clips have usually failed or broke

Wow, your channel is a gold mine of information, well done! I have a question if you don’t mind. I recently purchased a new Buzz signature collection (my first ever) and I am so exited! However I could only find the German speaking model new. Is there anyway to change the language to English? I mean can I just swap out the motherboard for a second hand English one and that’s it? Or anything else you could think of? Thanks buddy 👍🏻

There isn’t a way to change language as far as I know (I have attempted multiple solutions but none have worked)

Yeah of course, I would be happy to trade chips with you. So I’m understanding it will work if I remove the chip and swap it out? All I am after is a full new English version of Buzz lightyear that I have wanted since I was a child. As soon as I receive the buzz I will post a video showing you how it sounds. It will come with a German box and German certificate too.

I have one but only one wing lights up and for some reason you have to push the button really hard to release the wings, I took him apart and can’t find the issue why
@JediM4ster167 the only one wing lighting up is unfortunately pretty common
You might want to double check all the wires that are around the button on the back plate
Sometimes they get in the way

I think something is probably wrong inside of the wing
any idea how to repair the audio/speaker? when i press the buttons it makes a beep sound, but not the voices or the laser sound
It sounds like it is stuck
Try changing the batteries
If that doesn't work then it might be permanent

hey! i unfortunately did happen to unscrew the piece on the inside that holds the spring to the right wing. i see that you had advised not to do so, which i wish i had known prior to doing so. you say it is almost impossible to put back, but is there any way whatsoever to fix the tension/restore it to its current state?
@gabthebab there is a way to put it back in but it will be looser that original
@gabthebab its a combination of trying to use needlenose pliers and luck
I did that too but after half an hour I put it back and it worked fine

Hello. Greetings from Perú, my Buzz flight's mode is not working anymore, I think the level sensor that triggers when it is in horizontal position is not working. Do you know where is the sensor located? Thanks in advance
It’s a small cylinder object soldered on the bottom left of the computer board

Hi, i just wanted to ask if you have any suggestions for the the four screws behind his back not coming out? I tried with every screw driver but the screws are too tight. I'm trying to open him up because his red wing doesn't lock in when I put it back inside.
I’ve also used pocket knifes in the past if they have a screwdriver but
They can sometimes have more leverage
@@kadensreviews what type of knife? I have some but they might be to big for the screws.

The main issue is finding something that it almost to big for the hole but can still turn the screw
The left wing just won't light up. Some of the wire has loose insides. Do I just use electric tape?
If it’ll work
Usually electric tape is only a temporary fix
What type of screwdriver what size since there’s ph00 and many other types so I’ve got no clue what to buy

The best idea is probably to replace the whole back plate

It’s a bit tricky but he is basically the same as the regular 1996 buzz
He just doesn’t have any sound chip or wires I think

You’ll just had to figure it all out
You have to take off his back pack / wings because it’s attached to the rocket
And then you have to open the base of the phone and unscrew his feet
It’s kinda tricky to figure out
But once you know how it’s put together it’s not to difficult to put together again

I understand, and I wish I can send the pictures of my Buzz, but I'll try to do a very good description. The problem is the right wing, it was kind of loose and I thought i wasn't going to be a big problem to put it right, but it was. When I took the screw out, the spring went out "flying" so I never knew the right possition. The spring has 2 tails, a little one and a long one, I think the long tail goes dawn and the short goes UP, but I'm not sure, also I don't know what they stick with. As long as I can see the long one fits in a hole at the base, but I don't know if that is correct. Do you remember the right possition?

Could be a bad speaker
I don't really know for sure unless I take it apart
@@kadensreviews at the end, it was just the speaker; it needed to be adjusted. I fixed it by putting a bit of cardboard between the speaker and its support.
I have a problem with the tip of the left wing of my buzz lightyear, the wing opens but the tip does not jump out as it normally should, it does come out but you have to finish opening it manually, is there a solution?
Does it spring out at all?

The wrist communicator is unfortunately a pretty common issue
It happened on my buzz as well
If you take it apart, you might get lucky and it could be a loose plug
Usually the button / sensor is broken
I did do a few videos taking apart the arms as well
But usually it can damage the buzz if you aren’t carful
It’s all glued together
On my buzz lightyear left wing the mechanism doesnt lock. Its like the tension is weak but the spring is fine. I dont know how to fix it i really need help
A screw is probably stripped or loose
I believe there is a screw that goes through the joint that holds it together
If it was loose it might be the cause
If the screw hole is already to big and the original won’t stay in you could get a larger screw or fill the hole with super glue and then screw the screw in

Most likely the sensor is stuck
There is a small weighted ball sensor that can tell when you tip him for flight

My Signature Buzz’s left wing will hinge down but it won’t stay up in the jet pack. Know what’s wrong?
You mean it will close but it won’t pop up.?
@@kadensreviews Yah, when closing the left wing (looking at the back). It will rotate 90 degrees down and lock stay from going back out wide. But it won’t slide the 2-3” up into the jet pack and stay. It just comes straight back down….know anything?

I’d say most likely the joint on the inside is cracked somehow..
Something you could try is just to pop the wing off (carefully) from the outside
They are held in place by a little clip it’s a snug fit but they are removable
Anyway you could try poping it off and then reattaching it and that might realign something
Otherwise it’s definitely a broken hing on the inside and the only way to really fix that is to change the entire back plate (the part the wings are attached to)
Basically the hinge has a very tight screw and if you take it apart the joint to examine it
it won’t ever have the same tension again unfortunately

Do you know if there is anyway to get the part that holds the wing up? My right one snapped, so it only holds up by manually setting it in place

Unfortunately last time I was in contact with thinkway they didn’t sell / have replacement wing parts of any kind..
I don’t think they have it..
Unfortunately their stock of replacement parts was quite limited

@@kadensreviews I did see on that viral video on UA-cam of a guy “restoring” a buzz guy in the description, he says he emailed Pixar and they got him replacement parts. But bc this model is so old I bet it’s a lost cause

The reason I wrote that last comment is because I love buzz lightyear and you took him apart when he wasn’t broken especially since this is the collectors edition buzz I,m not trying to be mean this buzz is very collectible and so please stop taking apart toys because it feels like you’re destroying them just to show people how to fix them you should wait till there broken to make that video in my opinion
I understand but I did it because I had three people trying to fix one of these and this video helped them get theirs back together and understand how the wiring works

@@shardsoftime0952 I think for the tsc buzz if the laser light doesn’t work there isn’t much you can do except buy a new arm
