I’m Indonesian. And yes, Aceh is indeed a very conservative district and they have Sharia Law going on there. But the rest of other places in Indonesia is not like that. It only happens in Aceh. Y’all can still chill with your lover in Bali and pretty much everywhere in Indonesia, lol.
shout out to joe for understanding people have different cultures and perspectives and I'm glad he called out americans for thinking they rule the world. it's just one province in the country too.
Yup, westerns do horrible shit in the past slavery, colonization, started the fucking war, and when people have different view from they losses their shit, like wtf
Almost every country has done slavery and wars even if it's small lol but I do agree that some people in the U.S need to mind their business but not everyone has a stick up their ass in the U.S about others views.
majority of people in Aceh support a return to the sultanate (they're now democratic) and separation from Indonesia. anything they implement as of now has to be approved by supreme and constitutional court in indonesia (although they have some special rights since they are an autonomous country and went through civil war for that). it's a region that evidently has a pretty turbulent history and with this era of rapid globalization, there's going to be a lot of problems. human rights can definitely be improved, but they have a different culture and different social norms, so I think americans should just know where they stand in relation to telling other countries what to do. acehnese can think for themselves. their development is their issue given the situation has so much going into it, and americans should stay their lane. remember that blacks were segregated till the 60's and gays couldn't get married till 2015.
Bijan Rahman Gays getting married until 2015 in America vs. Gays getting caned in public for having sex in private in 2017 in Aceh... yeah, so comparable. Acehnese can think for themselves... unless they're gay Acehnese, right?
Are these women going to entice these men with their eating techniques and coerce the men to fall in love? I don’t think anything is going to happen Most women are not trying to seduce men at every chance that they can get.
Honestly it's just that us men are innately thirsty. Just a small act of eating food, or hell even if a woman BREATHS it would turn on a thirsty enough guy. They get a hard on from a harmless act and they blame the women. Source: I'm thirsty and haven't been laid in months.
Even covered head to toe integration of the sexes is very frowned upon in many places. It's why lots of businesses in those places have separate entrances - one side woman/children and the other just men. We have segregation of sexes in the U.S. as well.
i think what ppl see joe is like he is more the "street'' type guy,and less smart than someone like bart, but what i really like about joe(which is the main reason for me following jk is joe lol) is he always think from all perspective, like i get it if bart or other find this "sharia" law stupid, but u have to be like joe,u have to understand that this world isnt just "america" theres country who have their own law which is strict or based on religion, and joe is ALWAYS be the person that understand that and always think it carefully, thats why i like him.keep that mindset always joe, this world need ppl like u who can respect others and just dont disturb them.
Yeah i don't like bart and geo's mentality when it comes to certain things same goes for joe even he has prejudice when he talks about the middle east or muslim coutries but hey we chose to listen to what they have to say and we can answer back which is why the comment section is made
Yeah but it's 2018, no place should treat women like that. That's why it's stupid just because you believe in a text that some crazy person wrote which downgrades women to some kind of property.
it's deeper than that. the true teachings of Islam in fact places women in a high position. we are in fact highly respected and revered. there's a whole chapter in our holy book that outlines everything about praising women. media likes to take parts of our book and spread it out of context and cut and paste the most convenient ones to spread their anti Islam agenda. but if one asks a person who actually studies our book and the history behind the happenings described in those books then one will know that it's not how it seems at all. as a muslim woman i have never once been treated like i am just a property. in fact i am given the best education and my opinions are heard. i'm not told how to dress whatsoever and i'll be damned if anyone tries to. my employers have been women and one of the must influential CEOs and business owners and millionaires in my country are in fact muslim women. so maybe try to open up a bit to the reality instead of just what the media highlights. Islam is a global religion. not just middle easterns. there are arab christians and arab jews too so it irks me when media tries to paint it as if only middle eastern extremists are muslim.
It's all free speech really they are just expressing their own thoughts about the situation. It is true that not all corners of the world are the same, but such mindset works both ways. Different sides have different views of each other. Also IMO the word respect is being overstretched sometimes. Say there's a religion or culture that allows slavery or other heinous things to be part of their society, does that then call for your respect just because it lies outside the borders and is in another country?
David has pointed out, previously that jk reporting on these news articles arent always gonna be 100 % accurate, that being said, the articles are mainly used as conversation starters. Anyways have a blessed day 🙏🏽❤️
Also! These are filmed way in advance, when not all the details are out. So people get mad at the reporter for "not doing her job" when in fact at the time, she did.
Please realize that this is a small area in Indonesia. Indonesia has several other religions that are allowed to practice, and there are no issues in other parts of Indonesia. In other parts of Indonesia there are Muslim women selling food at all times of the night or day by themselves.
@@iagree8628 it has nothing to do with this "more or less muslims" It depends on the provinces. Infact java has a lot more muslims than aceh, but they didn't enforce sharia law.
@@iagree8628 no. Malaysia is a majority muslim country and we are tolerant of most things except for lgbt movement in public. In private do whatever you want. That's between you and God. You can gamble you can consume alcohol pork you can dress however you want.
I really believe it's mainly with the country's culture not just a religion. Because if you look at other Muslim countries like Lebanon Dubai and where I'm from Syria, those rules are not applying its more liberal. However what I do see is like the old religious people they realize that modern-day people are changing so they are trying to use religion to bring back the old ways because they're not comfortable. I'm hoping this will die down the next decade or so because the world is changing but some people just don't like to change.
There’s so much false information. Islam don’t have arrange marriage, they just don’t date - if they like someone or see them as a good parent, they get married. 2. It’s for man as well, (Zina) is impermissible on both ends. 3. There is not a value system for woman in Islam (except for faith), that’s more cultural norms depending on which country. 4. Also Islam has grown more in today’s age than in any point in history and is the fastest growing religion today. (P.S. Before you trolls start hoping in the comments. I’m not mad at the misinformation, I’m just here to clear some of it up)
As a muslim it always amazes me that my religion keeps on growing and there are people that still convert to islam even with the way the media portrays us which only reassures me in the words of our prophet about the fact that islam will be the dominant religion in the future
I'm sure I'm ignorant on this, but how do you get to know each other before marriage? What if you learn after marriage that you have really conflicting personalities or beliefs? What if you learn that you dislike each other? What if you learn that your spouse has severe mental issues? What if your relationship becomes abusive? Is it possible to divorce or remarry? I'm not just putting down Islam, because arranged marriage happens in many faiths. I just don't understand how you can choose to marry someone you don't know well yet. I'm honestly really curious about this.
@@unhelpfulrevelations7989 of course we can get divorced and remarry. Man we're not savages like the media likes to make us out to be. We have marriage laws and a specific syaria court system where wives can file for divorce if their husbands abuse them etc. As for getting to know them before marriage, more modern countries with majority muslim community are not too strict at all. We are allowed to date so long as there is no PDA or fornication. Holding hands and going out on dates is normal here in Malaysia although some may still side eye the hand holding but we pretty much let it be. In fact my parents dated in college and they told me they used to go on long drives just the two of them all night until morning. Also arranged marriages are not common these days but those what ifs you mentioned are extremely rare cases anyways. And arranged marriages doesn't work the way you think they do in Islam. Even if our parents decide to pair us up with some guy, if we go out with them a few times and decide he's not the right guy, our parents cannot force us to marry the guy. Lol. It's arranged. Not forced. Lmao. Arranged meaning safe sane and consensual from both sides. It's cool that you even bothered to ask tho. Yeah Islam has some pretty insane rules to go by on the surface, but they always come with footnotes and need to be looked at on a deeper level. So most of the times when assholes comment some ignorant nonsense we can't even be bothered to correct them because there's just more to it than that.
I love all the comments horrified by this and it's funny because it's usually Americans who are confused or horrified when we have major politicians citing the Bible as proof or evidence for laws or changing laws to match the Bible. It's literally the same exact thing in America DESPITE us having freedom of religion and separation of church and state written into our constitution. Recent examples: Jeff Sessions citing God for abortion laws, Ted Cruz just cited lack of Christianity in schools as the reason for gun violence, LGBTQ laws, etc. but Americans ignore this because Christianity is more widely accepted than Islam. It's a sad double standard. Plus this is not the rule for ALL Muslims, simply those living in Aceh. Islam and the laws a certain Muslim-majority province choose to make are completely different. Islam really isn't as crazy strict as the media makes it out to be. And from what I understand many Muslim women choose to be modest and uphold values of Islam as a respect to their beliefs and Allah, not because it is forced on them. Similar to the reason someone wears a cross necklace, no one is forcing them to, they choose to because they love God. Same for Mennonites, Amish, and literally a million other sub-sects of Christianity.
Honestly the part that bothered me the most about this was that they said they'd stop selling food to women after 9pm like WTF am I supposed to do when I get the munchies? 😂
Name a time when there was religious reform in practically ANY RELIGION, especially in the core values and tenants. Christians still read the Old Testament and 10 commandments in church. But for an example of religious reform in laws affecting Muslims? In the 1930s, Reza Shah Pahlavi did Kashf-e hijab which banned all Islamic veils and if women wanted to cover they resorted to covering their hair with fancy/extravagant hats. In fact it was Reza Shah Pahlavi who sort of introduced the idea of dress as part of Islamic politics instead of just personal choice. If you actually read on the history of Islamic majority countries many of them have had periods of heightened veiling and periods where veiling was not allowed or not as much practiced. Same for before and after the Iranian Revolution. Read on history of Iran specifically and you'll find many examples of this :)
@A, Joseph Stalin, wants, 20 million subs if you study traditional Islam like the school of the Malikis or the teachings of Imam Ghazali or Maulana Jalaluddin al Rumi you'd know that moderation was promoted in Islam. All this crazy shit you see in the world us because of Wahhabism. After they kicked out the Prophet Muhammad's grwat grandson Hussain Sharif out of Mecca and Medinah the Wahhabists have been exporting their extremist interpretation of Islam.
I feel like it’s about the country itself, as a Female Muslim living in Kuwait it’s pretty smooth and easy to go out with my Male friends alone for a cup of coffee or dinner, sometimes even in the same car together but we might be stopped by the police they’d check our Civil ID then we’d go along with our day. I hug and hand shake them too btw
1:51 to answer this question: you don't date, and it's not an arranged marriage either. It can be a guy who is interested in a girl, goes to her father/brother/uncle and tells him that he is interested in getting to know the girl. Girl says either yes or no. If yes, they get to know each other whilst a close male relative is there. If they hit it off, they eventually get married. If they don't hit it off, they stop seeing each other. Easy as that. No betrothal, no arranged marriage.
This only happen in one province, Aceh, which is pretty much the most and the only openly conservative region in Indonesia. Well, Indonesia is pretty conservative as a whole but not as bad as it seems. Everyone who live outside Aceh, even some of Aceh citizen itself, thinks this over the top Sharia Law they've been doing is too much. They won't even let man and woman ride the same motorcycle and every woman there has to wear hijab. It's true what you guys said, it's like going back in time. Other parts of Indonesia is not like that at all. I go out with my guy friends until late at night the time. And everyone in Bali is half naked and it's all good. I hope this doesn't put the wrong idea of the whole nation and i kind of wish Tiff would've mention that this only happen in one province because the article's title itself mention this happen in Aceh. It's still a great video, i could see everyone is trying to understand and respect our culture.
Quran chapter 109: Surah Al-Kafirun (The Disbelievers): Say: "Oh, you who disbelieve! "I do not worship that which you worship, "Nor do you worship That Which I worship. "Nor will I worship that which you have been worshipping, "Neither will you worship That Which I worship. "To you your religion and to me mine." That's how we feel about Jews, Christian, Buddhist and everyone with the different believe. Stop watching Foxnews and CNN, get to know a muslim in real life and see how we live. And about woman. Indonesia is the no.1 muslim country in the world. Yes, not Saudi Arabia, it's Indonesia. We have more muslims than saudi arabia. We already had a female president, award winning female mayor, the head of economy, marine and others in the government, head of the biggest oil and gas company, and so on. What about America? And people said woman is oppressed in Muslim country.

That's what western media and American think, they will mention as whole nation instead of each region or individual because their lack education of other side of the world, that creates false statement and fake news, just like how western media always twist Indonesia as populous muslim to muslim nation cause thats two different meaning, glad that JK crews are aware of that.
Where I’m from, dating is very different as well. It’s basically just meeting up for conversations. Skinship is prohibited before marriage, and going places where your relationship is put on display publicly is disrespectful. So going to the movies, clubs, restaurants etc. together isn’t a thing you do as a couple. You don’t stay at each other’s houses or meet parents or siblings unless your really serious about being together forever. You meet up like an hour or two a day and take walks or sit somewhere and just talk. You can’t sit or walk too close, when my mom was young it was at least 2-3 m distance between, but nowadays it’s less. Basically everything leading up to your marriage, is just based on personality and that’s it. That’s what makes the decision of marriage so important- because even though you might have been talking for years you still don’t know each other. And surprisingly these relationships last.
That is true. It's just the really strict sects of Islam like Saudi that makes it worse for everyone else. In morocco it's common for men and women to get to know each other for a while or even longer then get married.
Strict has different boundaries to different people and also Islam for what it is can’t be defined by laws of misguided government that exploit religion for economic-growth
To Indonesians: Thanks for clearing things up in the comments. To Jknews: These videos are really doing what they're supposed to do. They start the conversation and they're making us think. The comments section is actually somewhat valuable (if we ignore the bitter hater comments)
As an ex Muslim, It’s pretty satisfying seeing Muslims reaction to this. They can finally see how Islam controls people. ( Also I wish jknews talked about their real feelings because imo they sounded uncomfortable talking about it and barely gave any opinion, idk maybe they were afraid of the backlash they will get? )
morocco4ever Lmao, you know nothing about the OP and you want to be a therapist. There are a lot of reasons for leaving Islam. In my case, it has mainly to do with the history of Islam in South Asia. Over 80 million Hindus died and Buddhism died out. Even today it makes trouble and the history had major negative impact on the subcontinent. Also the history played a major role.
I'm Muslim and I respect anybody's decision to do what they want with their lives. Yes while unfortunately the media paints Muslims as intolerant, from what I've seen the younger generation have chosen to love and respect one another despite their sexual orientation or their religious beliefs or for any other reason just like how our religion preaches it. To love and respect one another.
albina karamova mostly people making shit up and cherry picking certain verses in the Koran in many African Muslim societies such a law would make no sense since culture and the fact that many Africans are Sufis basically this type of thinking is mostly salafi and wahabist thought I just know this cause I'd o research so don't take my word alone
Im an indonesian i have never ever heard this news lol but im not surprised aceh is a very conservative place but the rest of indonesia is just like the rest of Southeast asia
Bart's question about the dogs. When I was in Indonesia I saw 2 bulls trying to fuck. The owner just yelled at them to knock it off. I mean they were slaughtered about an hour later but that was for a whole different reason..... I swear...
Lol guys I'm Indonesian and this "rule" is only applied to ONE province in Indonesia, which is Aceh - known for its conservative Muslims. But the other parts of Indonesia are pretty much liberal, especially the more touristy cities such as our capital city Jakarta or Bali. I just got back to work and I saw a couple making out in the park lol or you can see some ladies go topless in Bali beaches. So yeah we're pretty liberal country with majority Muslim population and many other religions as well. In fact I'm a Christian Chinese Indonesian and never experience those type of extreme sex segregation. But every religion has their own rules & tradition. And we should respect that as long it doesn't hurt anyone
Just so everyone is aware in the comments section, yes Bart, Geo, and almost everone else doesn't know that much about Muslims. But to their credit they're curious to learn and they always ask questions whenever they get the chance to. Ao don't think that they're bigots or that they're ignorant, they're all quite the opposite. They've always defended Muslim women for wearing the hijab whenever they discuss an article in which a hijabi got attacked, they all showed their dismay and sympathy for Muslims when they found out the the majority of people who were killed were Muslim back when the Tehriki Taliban bombed that park on Easter, and they've always had an open mind about Islam. And that's actually surprising to find that there are still non Muslims out there who are willing to sympathize with us and give us a chance instead of thinking that we're all blood thirsty loads of shit. So before you guys want to talk shit about jknews, Bart, or Geo, or anyone else who isn't familiar with Muslims or Islam then understand that it's only a reflection of ourselves and how we're not doing enough to engage with other people about our beliefs, nor are we doing enough to combat extremist ideologies. Our scholars may be doing enough, but we the general population of Muslims aren't. If we want people to respect as for being Muslim them we need to do more to deserve it, respect is something that someone earns, not what they ask for. But if anyone has any questions about Islam or muslims, there's a mosque in culver city known as the king fahd mosque. They also have one in Orange county known as Masjid Rahman and also Masjid Ansar incase anyone wants to speak to speak to a Muslim scholar them please feel free to call or email them with any of your questions. And also I'd like to apologize to Bart geo and everyone else on jknews for having to hear all this bs from other Muslims, we're all not like that and a lot of us are nice people.
Right and wrong is subjective. What may be wrong to you may be right to someone else, and vice versa. Something that is right today may be wrong tomorrow, and vice versa.
Indonesia is a whole country. This practice only happens in Aceh, and that is only one province. It would be MUCH appreciated if JKNews could change the title to "Aceh province (dotdotdot)". Thank you😇
It's good to see Joe well versed on this topic . What do you think about youths living in that kind of conservative society who are progressive and are forced to follow such backward laws ? It's not fair .
Joe is very well informed on the Malaysian culture that we have. But for hugging, everyone hugs just not in formal situations(for the Muslims) but for everyone else it’s fine. I hug my Muslim dude friends all the time. In terms of freedom of speech, you were on a radio show so yes we have things we technically can’t say in the professional public media side that goes against the government but we say it anyways on Twitter, Facebook etc. We complain a lot and are very vocal about our opinions as well.
Aha I found something joe said partially wrong for once. During Ramadan you can’t eat for the month but you can eat during night. Thanks AP World history👍🏻
It’s only one province in Indonesia that has sharia law, the rest is normal. Indonesia is not even an Islamic country. Even though 80% of Indonesia is muslim, Islam and the law are entirely seperate.
jess the religion is not falling apart in fact the opposite people trying to educate themselves more on the religion to defend it due to the constant attacks
Indonesia is huge and Aceh is only a small part of it. So you can't say the WHOLE INDONESIA bans men and women eating together. Almost all parts of Indonesia aren't like that.
There’s an actual significant different between Indonesian and Malaysians government approach to Islamic law. In Malaysia, like you’ve said in this video, they enforced Sharia law as part of their national law, but only to Muslim. So, non-muslims in Malaysia won’t ever be directly affected by Sharia law. In Indonesia, they’ve been using a desentralized government system, where each provinces have the right to set their own law on top of the national law, as long as it doesn’t violates or go against the national law. This is the case with Aceh, and why that province can apply most of Sharia laws easily, because their citizens mostly agreed to that kind of provincial government. The same reason why Yogyakarta is the only province in a democratic republic of Indonesia where the governor title is hereditary and becomes a birth right for that province’s Sultan. The thing is though, in Indonesia, non-muslims could be directly affected by those provincial laws as well, they just don’t seperate it. In cases like Ramadhan, some hard liner might raid some restaurants that doesn’t close between 5am to 6pm, and guaranteed no legal charges will be thrown to those hard liner group. The plus side though, since it’s provincial laws, anyone can simply live on other provinces that doesn’t affected by that law...and since only 1 small province out of 33 province used Sharia law, it’s not hard to do.
Btw, unlike Malaysia that consider themselves as a muslim or islamic country, Indonesia consider themselves as secular country. Despite having the most number of muslim population in the world, Indonesia still choose to be a secular country, that’s why Sharia law is not the national law. Instead, Indonesia adopts many national laws from Netherland and other European legal system (obviously, because Indonesia was one of Netherland’s longest colony, a whooping 350+ years, before it falls to Japanese on WW2).
I had that style of segregation in middle school. The girls and guys had to sit on different parts of the class tables. We sat on the same table just segregated by gender.
Hostess CupCakes, are... the best. I had McDonald's for dinner. Bought a BigMac... medium fries, medium drink... Hawaiian Dr. Sprite Punch. It was delicious, tried my BigMac with ketchup... s'aite. The Southwest Salad, is, hands down, on my list forever, even if not knowing. Scrump-did-a-ly-umptious. *Muah*
The Sharia Law is really nuts, but the Muslims in Aceh seem to ok it... Women, from the rest of Indonesia and the world, even have to wear hijab when being in Aceh. I don't know. I'm Indonesian but not a Muslim, so I can't really know how the Muslims in Aceh or the rest of Indonesia really feel about that kinda law. I'm just hella glad I live in Jakarta.
This is normal in middle eastern countries. They sit seperately around the house and if they do go out to eat, they eat at seperate tables. Nothing new really
Indonesia isn’t the Middle East dude, they act as a more open minded society and this rule was just passed in a very small conservative area. Don’t cluster everybody you don’t know about into a small group and stereotype
I’m Acehnese and I love Aceh (Merdéka) but I would not be able to live there at all. Aceh right now is hella fucked up and growing up in a western country my way of thinking is entirely different from theirs.
@Nova okay well jk news is a channel that i really love and everytime they report on these sort of topics us muslim fans do not want them or other people to get the wrong idea about our religion which makes it hard for us to watch this as we are here to be entertained and not be a topic of discussion also i asked you if you were muslim because i thought that a muslim would understand the feeling more while a non muslim would have no idea what it feels like and i believe you would share this feeling maybe not this time but you have definitely encoutered situation where it was the case

RM BH Media doesn't portray nicely Muslims at all. That's because it's profit orientated and it's easier to make profits vilifying a other than educating thus the media has a profit incentive for vilifying Muslims and making us seem backwards.
In Islam u have to get engaged first so that u can date and if u don’t like them u break it off. It’s done this way so that everyone knows who’s dating who and that the man can’t beat and delete her. So it’s not straight marriage.

There is wisdom behind these laws n this one is mainly to protect the woman, u can say its too conservative but something as small as an unsupervised date can lead to a woman to be used, abused, raped, get pregnant out of marriage or just be naive and fall for an asshole thats gonna fuck up her life. U look at islamic countries and they have the lowest cases of rape, adultery and girls getting pregnant out of marriage. We hold our women to a high standard.

shout out to joe for understanding people have different cultures and perspectives and I'm glad he called out americans for thinking they rule the world. it's just one province in the country too.
Bijan Rahman Can we call out Muslims in Aceh for thinking they rule unmarried people and LGBT people's worlds?
majority of people in Aceh support a return to the sultanate (they're now democratic) and separation from Indonesia. anything they implement as of now has to be approved by supreme and constitutional court in indonesia (although they have some special rights since they are an autonomous country and went through civil war for that). it's a region that evidently has a pretty turbulent history and with this era of rapid globalization, there's going to be a lot of problems. human rights can definitely be improved, but they have a different culture and different social norms, so I think americans should just know where they stand in relation to telling other countries what to do. acehnese can think for themselves. their development is their issue given the situation has so much going into it, and americans should stay their lane. remember that blacks were segregated till the 60's and gays couldn't get married till 2015.
I don’t think anything is going to happen
Most women are not trying to seduce men at every chance that they can get.
pokemon202668 Then ban bananas. Jeez, so uneducated
pokemon202668 Most people don’t eat like porn stars. If I saw someone deep throating a banana, I’m going to assume they have a vitamin deficiency.

%100 fkn agree with you man ! I do follow jk purely for joe ;)
it's deeper than that. the true teachings of Islam in fact places women in a high position. we are in fact highly respected and revered. there's a whole chapter in our holy book that outlines everything about praising women. media likes to take parts of our book and spread it out of context and cut and paste the most convenient ones to spread their anti Islam agenda. but if one asks a person who actually studies our book and the history behind the happenings described in those books then one will know that it's not how it seems at all. as a muslim woman i have never once been treated like i am just a property. in fact i am given the best education and my opinions are heard. i'm not told how to dress whatsoever and i'll be damned if anyone tries to. my employers have been women and one of the must influential CEOs and business owners and millionaires in my country are in fact muslim women. so maybe try to open up a bit to the reality instead of just what the media highlights.

I really believe it's mainly with the country's culture not just a religion. Because if you look at other Muslim countries like Lebanon Dubai and where I'm from Syria, those rules are not applying its more liberal. However what I do see is like the old religious people they realize that modern-day people are changing so they are trying to use religion to bring back the old ways because they're not comfortable. I’m not mad at the misinformation, I’m just here to clear some of it up)
thank you sis!!
You guys are growing because you make so many kids and infiltrate other countries and force your religion.
A, Joseph Stalin, wants, 20 million subs name a time there was religious reform in any other religion

Do a story on India decriminalizing gay sex recently.

Islam has its own dating concepts and meeting new people it’s not as strict as media makes it out to be
As they described it here, you don't consider that strict?
That is true. It's just the really strict sects of Islam like Saudi that makes it worse for everyone else. In morocco it's common for men and women to get to know each other for a while or even longer then get married.
Let's chat in instagram @oktaviano_ihza_fahreza
Strict has different boundaries to different people and also Islam for what it is can’t be defined by laws of misguided government that exploit religion for economic-growth
Y'all still oppressed tho

Lmao, you know nothing about the OP and you want to be a therapist.

Fun fact: Indonesia has the largest Muslim population of any country!
Its not all over Indonesia its just one spesific region which is in Aceh so just chill yall
I don't even think saudi arabia has this law

Something that is right today may be wrong tomorrow, and vice versa.

sach kin He isn't very well versed at all. He has a surface level understanding.
Geo Indonesia is Catholic and Bart about Gaudi. I was in fuckin shock. I guess we, outsiders, probably don't know basic stuff also.
It’s only one province in Indonesia that has sharia law, the rest is normal. Indonesia is not even an Islamic country. Even though 80% of Indonesia is muslim, Islam and the law are entirely seperate.
Change the title- making it bigger than it is- its a District not the whole country. Clickbait
i'm Malaysian. the caning of the lesbians weren't cruel, Sharia Law caning is really light. i don't even think they felt any pain.
jess the religion is not falling apart in fact the opposite people trying to educate themselves more on the religion to defend it due to the constant attacks
Omg Jessica read my mind when she said “ can I get a witness” lol 😂
Indonesia is huge and Aceh is only a small part of it. So you can't say the WHOLE INDONESIA bans men and women eating together. Almost all parts of Indonesia aren't like that.
What Joe was talking about how the supervisor for the date sounds like the dugger family
Thank GOODNESS Jess spoke up. I was gonna lose my mind!
I had that style of segregation in middle school. The girls and guys had to sit on different parts of the class tables. We sat on the same table just segregated by gender.
You guys need to remember that Indonesia is fking HUGEEE. It's up there with India and China. Different state has different law
One thing I love about Islam.... they don’t really force their religion on other people (Christianity I’m lookin at you).
Love y’all ❤️❤️
Hostess CupCakes, are... *Muah*
😨HOLLY SHIT!... I just realized that there's music playing in the background...😱
Sounds like places not to go to to me
I'm sorry but which middle eastern coutry are you talking about now that is what they call fake news i'm muslim i know better
dumb comment
I’ve never seen this shiwz
Indonesia isn’t the Middle East dude, they act as a more open minded society and this rule was just passed in a very small conservative area. Don’t cluster everybody you don’t know about into a small group and stereotype
so what happened to your podcast? its the very reason i start listening to podcasts more :(
“Togther”?
I don't see it as a problem because it's normal especially in a Muslim country.
I’m Acehnese and I love Aceh (Merdéka) but I would not be able to live there at all. Aceh right now is hella fucked up and growing up in a western country my way of thinking is entirely different from theirs.
🤗🤗🤗 finally watched it on time
Am i the only muslim who had a hard time watching this episode?
@Nova before i answer your question may i know if you are muslim?
@Nova okay well jk news is a channel that i really love and everytime they report on these sort of topics us muslim fans do not want them or other people to get the wrong idea about our religion which makes it hard for us to watch this as we are here to be entertained and not be a topic of discussion also i asked you if you were muslim because i thought that a muslim would understand the feeling more while a non muslim would have no idea what it feels like and i believe you would share this feeling maybe not this time but you have definitely encoutered situation where it was the case
@banana aya playa it was just for me to see on what level he/she can relate so i could go more deeply into my explanation or not thank you for asking
why are u winking dafuq x
@@chaimae8435 they talk about everyone not just muslims and only idiots would see one instance of muslims doing harsh things and assume all muslims are the same. For instance they make videos about white people doing racist things and they (as in JK members) take a out white people being inherently racist, not all the time but a lot and white privilege and in the comment section you see all these people calling out all white people for being racist by one instance speaks for a whole group of people. I ignore it bc like I said only idiots thing that way and you shouldn't feel bad.
Wait a min didn't this video already played some time this week ?
i mean the people in that district dont have a problem so who are we to judge
qwertyuiopzxcvbnm198 how do you know are you a resident there?
You can say what you want about JK but Joe is fucking smart and open minded. The guy is always thinking out of the box even when it's REALLY HARD to
and in a more "conservative" country, they are starting to opening up freedom like allowing driving license for women, basically SEA is just sad.
Saudi Arabia is full of shit, they only announced the driving thing as a smoke screen to their human rights abuses.
@@yushaumeri6292 yelp! never thought it would be that way tho, good insight and all the more reason to not tolerate all these non-radicalised-able brains.
Neil Mathews What does Islam have to do with this? It's just culture at play.
@@youraverageimperialguard7932 the laws were based of islam laws. So you tell me.
I feel like the media portrays Muslims in a very weird way which doesn’t help non Muslims understand almost anything about us making them think we’re just very close minded, I feel like (also high key just bc I wanna be represented n stuff) jk should bring over a Muslim guest
Together*
i have never wanted to punch Bart in the face until today. i think i just enjoyed the videos where Bart and Geo weren't around and it was so nice lol.
The confusion in anthonys face when he read the title lmao
Existence is slavery because life is conformity. Absolute truth?'
NOT ONE OF THE FIRST ONES HERE THIS TIME. But from Malaysia. And very disappointed (and angry) in the lesbian caning incident that happened. Too many ideological extremists are running the country and unfortunately we are stuck here. The majority of people are braindead and mentally lazy so changing for the better and keeping up with the world is disgustingly slow. On behalf of the huge minority in Malaysia I apologize for bringing horrid news like this to the world.
I like the way Joe thinks, hes open minded. U can tell the rest of em wanted to say some ignorant islamophobic shit but we're just biting thier toungues being on youtube n all. We hold our women to a high standard.
jess looks so good, the red lip tops it
Totally of topic but when tiff said district I started singing straykids district 9 lmao
JOJO BIZARRE TAUGHG ME THIS Goti (probably spelled wrong) is a famous architect most famous for his beautiful but weird churches AKA gods architect .....
Sounds about pretty fucking sharia to me, i am from Kuwait so it’s not crazy strict but we can’t really kiss or show affection publicly.
Isn't this old? I know I heard this video before
I feel like I’ve heard that college story before
hmmm what?!!! I live in Indonesia and this is not the case. ONLY in Aceh
This is completely wrong Muslims don’t have arranged marriages that’s something different cultures bought
yep muslims
actually if this law is applied to a country full of sex offenders it is a good law
Does anyone else notice them talking about that news show a lot lately or is that just me??😂
All the Muslims be having dates in the back corner of the library on Valentines Day so they won’t get caught by their family members
