For a while i was convinced the percussion heavy part was a sign that Needles was in the area, because he just so happened to spawn whenever the song got to that point lol
@@Tony4You Damn right they do, SMT IV and F&H are some of the few games that do the vibe of dread/misery so well. On top of that the similar lore/character/world themes are fantastic. Wish there was more of it!
This song feels like coming out to the aftermath of shelling and seeing the rubble caused by the devastation. The melancholic low tones feed the feeling of a slow realization this place would never be the same again, while the banger beats that catch you off guard is when the enemy picks back up on their assault and you have to run for cover. Fitting that this game takes place during it's equivalent of WWII
For me this is Caligura's theme because I think It fits all his mobster background and I herd It play for the first time in the scene where he kills Levi
No joke was just listening to this at work in my little windowless room surrounded by computers. Right after the 1:00 min mark the whole room loses power and goes completely black and comes back on 5 seconds later. Time to take a fuckin break....
The first third felt really appropriate for the destroyed section of the town. Shame there wasn't more of it, though the rest of the piece fits in its own way, and matches the still present danger better.
Dammit I didn't know the second part is in the same track as the start and got jumpscared by the bass just like I did in the game. Fear and Hunger never lets you rest does it
Love this song. I listen to this and much of the soundtrack while working on my comic and writing, perfect atmosphere as to be expected from your works.
You know, after playing this game for way too much, I'm going by my day, doing chores, talking to people, walking to work, and suddenly, out of nowhere 1:00 hits. And let me tell you when it hits, it hits hard.
I want to use this ost in my dnd game so badly, the entire ost of Termina would fit so perfectly in my apocalyptic campaign. This and Monologue With The Moon are my favourite tracks from Termina
This song to me feels like the perfect representation of when a person finally reaches that breaking point. The point they've told themselves over and over, that they'll never cross. I've used this song as a best way to represent my shaman going from a calm, defensive fighter, to a battle hardened, ready to die at any 1moment war cleric fighting to make sure their comrades stay standing over themselves.
I feel like I take a walk along the way to Termina, and take a look around the supernatural surroundings. Being aware of something creepy emerging from nowhere to kill me. No way turning back, but having to pace forward hopelessly among the mystery mist covering the town.
I think the end part is my favorite; when the violence and warfare finally die down, and all we’re left with in the destruction is an empty, lacking feeling.
Would it ve possible to have hour versions of the music, its just so gloomy, emotional and then hit harder that my dad with a belt. I need the ost on an hour loop lol
I encountered this theme heading north out of the Deep Woods. Coming out of the woods to see Pocketcat standing at the entrance of a war torn city entrance while this theme played and he spoke was an amazing way to encounter this track.
I love this theme and always like to hear it but in one ocassion... I was in the restaurant after killing needles and the mob so i decided to go back and save because i was really nerveous of dying to something stupid like a mine, so i was really tense and then suddenly this part (1:00) hits and it actually jump scared me.
On my first blind playthrough I spent quite a lot of time trying to figure out how to reach city as there were no hints about how to unlock front gates in day 1 morning so I started just checking out what ritual circles do with only two skin bibles I had of funger and Vinnushka. As I created climbable tree and unlocked new areas I didn't notice the moment when forest turned into city entrance with familiar figure hunching over a bag. As I had volume lowered I didn't hear the beginning of this ost but when Pocketcat turned his head to me the bass kicked in as if it's meant to play when you two meet at any point. Idk why but him slapping kid in a bag with stick felt rather comical than disturbing and his speech about how he is well acquaint with me didn't help it either. That moment he wasn't slave of humanity hating moon god or creepy folclore tale monster that eats children but a guy I remember meeting in the first funger. I know he is still creepy in the first game as well but I never gave him girl or had much encounters with Rher's servants later on so in my eyes he was one of the few relatively positive characters towards me in the dungeons full of monsters and traps without any glimmer of hope that I somehow managed to beat once never to return again. It just felt so appropriate to associate this great soundtrack with a character that I know (and who remembers me - the player) in this ever depressing world of funger.
In my first playthrough, 2 party members were killed outside the orphanage, and I thought this track (specifically the hard-hitting part) only played when "losing" a battle
