Whaaat? I didn't even know this game existed! Epic music!

Same here. And it´s interesting they didn´t solve the bug of avoiding fights by diagonal running or jumping over an enemy. Basically it all looks like they took the old engine and just programmed a new story. And added a fancy intro and stuff. But I still like it and would like to play it one day. :)

Hold Fast Films I wouldn't be surprised if the total memory allocated to the music is less than 250kb. Insane alright!

Hold Fast Films intro 1:10 & ending music 16:30 are absolutely amazing, probably one of the best I heard on C64

How the scenes get drawn in really tells you a lot about how the programming, tricks and the logic goes together to sell an illusion

I played this roughly 25 years ago and could never figure out the 3rd level, for some reason.

wow, amazing intro, it looks more an Amiga 500 game than a C64 game, ending music is awesome!! 16:30

Impressive quality for a C64 !But for the best is Last Ninja 1.

This would make an interesting movie in the right hands.... (Or a hokey disaster in the wrong hands!)

Where is the stick? In the first level?

You know someone really loves a game when they make three similar sequels and it's not the players!

Beautiful looking game, the redraw, as in many old games, is annoying

It's a valid point. This game was released on cartridge and I remember Zzap!64 criticising this game for still having annoying screen redraw despite the added power and memory of cartridge.

The graphics in this game is the best among whole series on C64, but the music is the worst...

AdamoLOL1: I certainly agree. The soundtrack from the first two are memorable classics. True masterpieces! The music in this game is more of an ambient kind of thing, and offers great variety so that the listener doesn’t get annoyed. And that’s quite an accomplishment with 8-bit music from the 80’s.
BUT this soundtrack is clearly not as memorable as the tunes from the first two.

Liked the first, was dissapointed in the second, never heard of the third.

Yeah! The first one was amazing. The second ok. I don´t understand why the second one is more popular. This one looks rushed and uninspired to mee...

Maybe the setting in the second Last Ninja made it more popular:
Ancient ninja in modern New York.
Also all those artwork were very good, so they probably increased the fascination to the game.

Surprised to hear you were disappointed by the second, I loved it and played it more than the original! Something about the ninja being in gritty urban New York made it epic to me.

While this is the prettiest of the 3 (ASTOUNDING what they could do with a 16 colour palate!) the gameplay and music take a backseat to the first two in every way. Still a good game, but not the classic 1 and 2 are.

First game i actually bought. Weaker than the first two, sadly. Or maybe just didn't have the same impact on me.
