- So, It has been a while, hasn't it?
Funny Story about this song, I actually wasn't planing for it to turn out like this. I actually first composed it in the A-minor key, and accidentally shifted the song into some chromatic notes (G# instead of G for example). So I started thinking; "Huh, this sort of sounds like an Anime-Theme...", after carefully considering it for all of 5 seconds, I decided to fully commit, shifted more notes around, added more chromatic notes, etc...
To sum it all up, I accidentally created an SCP Anime Theme which I wasn't Planing... I don't know how I feel about that.
Anyway, enough of that:
A lot has been happening recently... By that I mean not only stuff in my personal life, but also geopolitically; a.k.a. the War in Ukraine, though there are definitely more qualified people to talk about it than me. My heart reaches out to all people who are affected by this bloody conflict, It is the only thing I can do right now...
I have no Idea how to end this... This is a disturbingly depressing note to end the description on, but again, best of luck.

Why do I feel like the O5 are just a bunch of guys creating the most elaborate april fools prank, that is the SCP foundation and SCPs, like one day they just go "Haha! we got em!"
That is essentially a proposal for an SCP-001 dubbed "05-orientation" in which you have the perspective of an aspiring researcher who is climbing through the ranks because he wants to learn what is the true of SCP-001 and when they finally get the position of being an 05 council member they are given the bombshell that their is no such thing as SCP-001, that it was made up to give the foundation a form of unity. To give the illusion they were following the instructions of an angel in preparation for the rapture, that they were all coming together to fight a conceptual crimson deity, that they were combating a paranormal manufacturing facility creating anomalous tools and gains strength the more they are used etc
Then their is also the proposal dubbed "the spiral pathway" where it claims all anomalies were accidentally created BY the foundation when studying a stairway that went infinity upward if you walked up it counter-clockwise and ALL the lore about the different scp's are actually cover stories to maintain the veil of secrecy that they created their own problem

Welcome, newly-appointed overseer.
You have questions. Perhaps you don't even know what they all are, or care what the answers are at this point, but you have them, and you have many. If you opened this letter expecting those answers, I will tell you all that I have.
Which is none.
What is SCP-001? There isn't one. Was there a first anomalous object that was discovered? Of course. Was it important? Probably not. Confused? Good. At least you're still human. That's all we are, human beings. Human beings that thought we could reliably record the destruction of sanity. We were fools. We still are. The Foundation is compromised, it always has been, and it always will be. Why? We thought that there was a linchpin, a reason for it all-it's because we thought there was a "why".
There wasn't one.
This is the way things are. Nothing has changed, the universe hasn't broken down over time, this is how it's supposed to be. Personnel are told about SCP-001 because it comforts them. It helps to think there is a why, because that suggests that there is a solution, but there isn't. We do not repair: we secure, contain, protect. Surely you must have wondered why the objects are not numbered chronologically, in order of recovery? Surely you must have wondered why some objects have fully documented histories and others don't? Surely you must have wondered, given everything you know, why this world even still exists? See, I told you that you had more questions than you thought.
We don't know how much of what we documented is true anymore, it probably changes from day to day. There's no way of telling what is being affected by what anomaly, especially when there could be an infinite number that we haven't even discovered. Existence is an anomaly.
So what do we expect you to do, armed with this information, or lack thereof? Whatever you can. We do not repair, and we do not solve.
We Secure.
We Contain.
We Protect.

On the Topic of the 05-Council. I'm pretty damn sure that SCP-001 is the 05 Council themselves. Because they are highly classified, similar to 001. They are anomalous. They were the founders of the SCP-Foundation and therefore would be the first documented SCP themselves.

O (not to be confused with 0) stands for Overseer, and 5 refers to their security clearance (5, the highest, the O5 get access to the entire Foundation database, even to classified information a.k.a. [REDACTED] or [DATA EXPUNGED])
