Upon clicking i am instantly teleported to the waters where all the issues and problems in the world and in my head can seemingly drown to the bottom, and its just me, and this dude and his fishing rod just doin what they do on the water. honestly its crazy how much a random person across the world can impact you but this guy does it every upload in a positive way. im a fishaholic for life & I dont even like fishing

I’m originally from Cape cod Mass but went to Johnson and Wales in Charleston. I know that landing very well in Monks Corner. Lake looks low as hell. Go check out Bushy Park in Goose Creek for some nice Bull red fishing.

I grew up in SC and know Santee Cooper very well. Used to camp fish there a lot. There are some big stripers and also huge blue and flathead catfish. Used to catch crappie as big as both hands!!👍👍😎

You're in my neck of the woods. The water is that color most of the time. You can still get some good reaction bite. Spring is the real time for the stripers.

Good Morning Bro / great catch on a Stripper n CatFish / you know i didn't know that catfish can get caught like that / when i was leaving in Saint Cloud, Florida n me n wife we go to Melbourne, Florida to fish n pass the day with the kids, i catch Catfish on a Shrimp, Squid o cut bait
There’s a lot of 40-80 lb blue cats that hang around the small dock in the little peninsula reserved for santee cooper employees. One of my fondest fishing memories was one summer being able to go on that dock during some freak lunar event and the dock lights were on and you could just see massive striped bass and catfish in the thousands eating small baitfish under the lights in about 6ft of water, we ended up getting some bream and putting them on Carolina rigs and chucking them out there and caught so much catfish we had frozen catfish for about 6 years, we went back there and fished around it by boat some times but never seemed to be as productive as that summer night

Not a big fresh water fan but I am intrigued by stripers being there. I just love the adventure of the ocean.
That lake connects to the ocean via a lock system. The stripers would swim up the Cooper river and get stuck in the locks. It’s a self sustaining population but recently pressured heavy. ESP in lake Moultry

During the spring or summer try fishing the Saluda River in downtown Columbia, SC. Most of the stripers in the santee system will move up river below lake Murray.

Blue cats are insane, they will bite anything, caught em trolling, casting, seen em caught on plugs and poppers for stripers. Their viscous things
I kinda just want to go back and try big plastic for some tanker catfish or bring some cut bait as back up. The current blue cat record I think is like 113lbs!!!!

Scariest moment of my life happened out of Randolphs landing. 1982 after dreaming of Santee Cooper, we got caught in the storm of storms. I was 22. At 60 years old now, I look back and can’t believe we made it back.

This is a bigger kayak and I plan to go for small goliaths on the bridges again in Florida and I need reverse for that planning ahead 👌🏻.

FIRST
If you're going to target catfish in the Santee Cooper lakes, make sure you have the proper gear. That blue cat you caught could be used whole as a bait for the big blue cats in those lakes.

He is on Lake Moultrie. He launched the boat at the Shriners club boat landing in Moncks Corner. Good lake to fish, I fish it a lot
