I feel like if they focus there money more on the show like they did back in the day, they would get a lot more customers. Sure the new idea of the dance stage would be new and interactive, but seeing your favorite characters perform and sing right in front of you is so much better than seeing them as a person in a costume on tv.
Agreed! There is something magical about animatronics performing on a stage compared to a bunch of people dressed in costumes. The animatronics is what makes CEC unique.
I really like the paintings on the wall going into "Pizza Time Theater". They look like they could have been recreations of the older painted walls from the 80s. Very old fashioned.
WOW, the quality of the footage and the insane editing really makes these guys shine!! I hope to see them in person someday!! My buddy Mike used to own a full balcony stage too, but he downsized to just Harmony Howlette and the cabaret character Dolli Dimples. I really miss seeing the full balcony show, so maybe one day I'll be able to visit Smitty's!!

You'll be looking at upwards of $1200 for a single Chuck E Cheese or Rock-Afire figure, and you'll have to bust your way into the collector's market, which is pretty tight-knit from what I've heard. For the most part, it's the same handful of people trading stuff back and forth, but if you prove that you know how to take care of an animatronic or find the right seller, you could potentially score one. But they're REALLY hard to maintain-- you'll have to get yourself well acquainted with how they run. I'd start small if I were you. Aaron Fechter sells an animatronic experimenter's kit, if you feel comfortable buying from him, or you could always purchase a small Halloween animatronic from somewhere like Spirit Halloween to dink around with. It's a LOT safer bet than purchasing a full on CEC/Rock-Afire figure, since starting small will help you learn how they work and such.

Somehow Chuck E Cheese managed to make The Beatles creepy. It's cool how preserved those animatronics are but I have always hated the eyes of every one of them. Disliked them as a kid in the mid 80s and am still not a fan. I think I was 3 and hid under the table during their show. Ironically I'm a huge horror fan nowadays.
Funny side note since you mentioned the eyes..... they are actually wooden skee balls from the old school lanes they used to have in all the Pizza Time Theatre stores!

Yes all of the artwork is recreations from original art that was found in PTT during the 80s! The Classic "wink" is what they used on the carpet!
