We're back!
After a short break while everyone finishes their seasons off and we get closer to those short days and wet conditions, we come back to you with another Vitus BikePark tour, yet this time, it's a trail centre.
Cannock Chase sits slap bang in the middle of the country, about 40 north of Birmingham. A well established trail centre with lots of variety in its trails and activities, Go Ape right on its doorstep, a music venue and great campsite half way round and a fantastic cafe to finish the ride.

Great to bump into Rob at Cannock Chase. He even let me have a ride on his bike! Think he thought I wasn’t coming back lol I was on my Giant Stance 29r. Hard work up that slope, especially for a 68 year old! Lol I was converted to e-bikes after that encounter 😊

I'm a hard tail rider and hold some local legends across the trail. I clocked 1hr 45 on the full red very brutal but fun
I think my fastest time is 1 hour 55ish. I normally do about 2 hours 10. Although hard to compare as some sections were closed for a while.

The way I tackle Cardiac Hill with a none ebike is... I get off and push it up that ****ing hill.
Wicked video. Non Ebike rider here who has done the monkey many many times. There is a lot of very good off piste trails over there too if you ever get chance
'Just outside Birmingham'! It's about 20 miles away.... And you could have ridden some of Perry's Trail - it was good enough for the Commonwealth Games XC riders, even though they went round parts of it in the wrong direction. They've moved the Deer's Leap drop-off to round near one of the ponds - I'm sure you would have liked that. Still, glad you liked it, Rob. Shame I missed you.

Off piste at Cannock is where it’s at
The main trails are so pedally I highly recommend doing the first half of follow the dog and then heading straight to upper and lower cliff then completing follow the dog

Used to take me a good few hours on a manual bike, now on the ebb i can do the monkey in 1h 30! with a visit to stile cop!
That's my local and I tell you it's hard on a normal bike shame you didn't go to stile cop dh trails which is nearby there
Cannock chase is great for new rider's. Many other trails if u go looking for the advanced rider.

That first climb on the fire road used to be covered in small loose stones, you'd get a rhythm then your back wheel would spin. ****ING hated it. It comes before you've warmed up to.

Not at all. I've done both and Cannock is my local trail centre to me. Cannock is flat as fu*k compared to Gisburn! lol

I went to cannock chase once, massive disappointment.
It was so easy, so boring, you could have ridden round on a shopping bike, yet everyone had all the gear and 4 grand+ trail bikes polished to perfection.
Much better to go to Gisburn or even Dalby.
