      Thanks, though I still need to get used to not using the wide angle setting on the GoPro. This spot is a lot of fun as long as its not too windy, with no wind breaks it can be pretty overwhelming.

    Nice man! You going to end up picking one up for yourself? I'll probably get one later this year or next year. Oh yeah, you gotta show off more of the JimBob!

      Honestly I dont think so, I've had a number of their parts in the past that would not work with their other parts without modifications, had the grind and file an number of them. I have some AR60 curries that had a terrible design for the bearing cap that made getting the diff mounted correctly a absolute pain in the butt (it had a wedge shape to it) assemble take apart, assemble take apart and so on until it finally seated. I dont care for metal axles though a narrower 1.9" axle is likely better than a AR60 sized one, I would think it might drag less with the tires closer together. Maybe I'm just being too much of an RC hipster " ah these are too popular, its not for me" kind of attitude.

      @@humboldtef Yeah it's one of those things where, I've never tried it out, so I'd like to. One of the reasons I've held back so far is the fact that it is all metal. It looks nice and all, but I'd cringe if the axle or nice chassis like that scrape against rocks constantly. It'd make me feel so bad about spending all that money for one. Mainly why I've stuck to rigs with plastic axle housings. The SSD chassis however, has the right mix. In the right places.

      @@RevolutionX I didn't meant to leave the impression that these should be avoided and quality is poor. All of the parts I referred to were older designs and from the sound of it they've improved and if they do bung something up they're quick to remedy it. Also being a complete rig should mean that they must have worked on the complete package as a whole making sure it all works and fits well and thats mostly what people are saying. You gotta learn to embrace the scratches for sure. Have you done a weathered truck yet? They are so nice in that they free you up to drive and not really worry much.

      @RevolutionX 5 років тому

      @@humboldtef Yeah it's mostly the scratches to expensive metal axles that get me. I have not weathered bodies yet, but I do drive the ones that can be driven in that manner without worry if the chassis performs. Others rigs that look to be better at trailing than crawling, I tend to be more careful with.

    Hi there, thinking of buying a mammoth. Looks like it can perform crawling wise, are you happy with it?

    • @humboldtef
      @humboldtef 3 роки тому

      I wouldnt class it as a crawler but it can do it. Its a fun rig and unique. If you dont already have some 4x4 crawlers I'd suggest starting there first.
