    It's amazing to see how decent/good poker players make the most insane right calls sometimes for (basically) their tournament life at high-stakes and then at the same time in the same tournament punt off huge portions of their stack like that KK top set hand in this video ... From pure greatness to rookie mistakes in a few hours

    • @Ihave10billionsubs

      This is exactly the type of phenomenon that high level players in the poker community laugh about. Everyone thinks you're a genius if you make the right call, and when you make the wrong call/move and you lose, suddenly you're a donkey. I guarantee you 120% you would've said he was a terrible player if his call with 10/7 was wrong.

    I've said it before, your biggest weakness is never believing that someone has a better hand. That KK hand, you were beat by one queen after the turn, never mind him also having the ace. It makes me sick when you do stuff like that.

    • @Ihave10billionsubs
      @Ihave10billionsubs Рік тому

      talent lol. He got lucky. Ethan is a huge gambler (with all due respect to him having the balls to call there). His opponent could've easily had A/K that he was bluffing with on the flop then hit, he could've had sets, two pair, etc. You can calculate all you want, but in the end, you're just guessing, just like he did.

    • @elio-7911
      @elio-7911 Рік тому

      @@Ihave10billionsubs the only logical set in that hand was 9’s, as ethan was blocking 10’s and when the 8 paired on the river we can overrule that as well,
      So op is repping a very narrow range, and if he had AK like u stated he’s not gonna shove with that as ethan hand from the op perspective was kind of face up, it was either a 10 or missed draw, so should he had a value hand he would have gone for thin value rather than going all in, so his shove was so polarised there when on this specific board it should’t, not to forget that ethan might have all the 8’s more than him after defending the big blind,
      Tbh when i was watching the hand i was yelling call

    Rampage you can play/ you know the percentages of all the different combos etc… you don’t need to take so many chances when you finally build a stack and are so close to the money (bubble). Slow play it at this point unless you have a premium and have your opponent covered until you get inside the bubble. Then revert back to your normal strategy!

    Every time I make a punt, I think to myself, "It could be worse. I could be a vlogger, and have internet chat trolls laugh and point at me."
    Your courage and discipline to share your punts is an inspiration.
    One piece of advice though: when you punt in a cash game, you know exactly how much you punted off (I mean, adjusted for the equity of your punt, I suppose). In a tournament, you don't necessarily have to break out the abacus and figure out the cash value of the punt. And in cases such as this, prolly best to not do it.
    Great work and keep it up.

    I think what you did right there is the element of poker that's most profitable, knowing your customer. If he's very capable and you put him all in with appropriate sizing he probably finds the fold and looks for a better spot. By betting smaller, gives a better price for the call and also I'm a tournament looks like possibly a bluff that doesn't want to risk too much. Great move, it got you paid.
