Great video: I have had the same issue with other swimbaits as you have. To fix the issue I used a razor blade and sliced open the lure and cured the issue. Never used the Z-Man minnows however, the Megabass Dark Sleeper in the ¼ ounce size is something to add to your arsenal. I been using BearKing 5mm swimmers and 1/16th ounce darting jig heads and cleaning up in small waters using BFS tackle; Bass, Trout, Crappie, Rock Bass and Bluegill too. Today I now qualify for the Senior Citizens discount. Fishing in cold conditions and not getting any bites quickly becomes no fun. Using micro-baits and tackle seldom fails to get something pulling back on you rod. The most active fish I found are on rocky spots. However if there are any green weeds or clumps of live weeds I found bass close by.
Yeah, I am not fishing until 2020 so I can at least say I ended the year with a bang! Keep going man, love to see your growth. Lets make a point to fish at least once together in 2020.
Welcome home it's nice to have you back looks like your shoulder has healed up still looking forward to what you're going to put out in the upcoming year
Nice, I need to try those sometime. Only thing I landed was 2 pumpkinseeds on BFS gear yesterday. Got a gh100L, kuying teton 522SUL, and some lighter spools for the new spirit fox reel, which fit in my xf-50s for xmas. And before xmas I got a revo x, and a 9.3 gram BFS spool for that. So many new toys to play with, just need the fish to wake the hell up.
well, the zman materials float so you can go heavier if you want to sink faster but I usually go 1/8 oz or 1/4 oz in a number 3 or 4 hook depending on the bait size.
Did you use a standard hook or special hook with the baitkeeper like a Ned rig (they have a thin baitkeep that works on the Z-Man. Regular baitkeepers doesn't seem to penetrate the elaz teck rubber. Any suggestions?
Any tips on how to get the screw lock keeper into elaztech? I’ve tried a few times and it keeps on twisting and bouncing back. After wrenching it on multiple ways the bait looks pretty wrangled. Maybe my screw keeper isn’t sharp enough? I’ve heard people using lighters to heat the screwkeeper first, but not a smoker so I usually don’t have one handy

I love z man products I haven't tried that diesel minnow yet but I will now. You can't beat a day like that in the winter time

@@capitolbassfishing Not yet. Hopefully it will be on my next order. Had some car repairs to take care of which cut into my fishing budget 😫

For sure they worked well today.
Very awesome surprised they are shallow
yeah me too...we have had days of 50's and 60's so they are probably hugging vegitation and warm water and ground...
Nice! What size and weight of a hook did you use?

@@capitolbassfishing thanks!
I gotta go fishin! I keep waiting for someone to yell at you to get out! lol..
Oh believe me...they have! Even had a cop come once, I am 50 I really should grow up...NAH!
@@capitolbassfishing Hahaha...loll..never! :)

yeah, no screw locks, the z-man chin locks work good! amzn.to/3at9zjS
How did you fish that swim bait. It looked like you just cast it out and let it sit til you got bit.
I was swimming it slow but always moving.

L W I have no luck with that either. They make a special hook on tackle warehouse though.
Joe Simpson interesting, which were you using in your vid? I assumed it was just an owner belly weighted swimbait hook with the CPS spring keeper
L W belly weighted yes, just normal offset eye no springs or locks...which is what amazed me about the bait. Would not tear!
