I have been having the same thoughts about leaders in the church, we suppose to have an honor to them of course, but not to exalt them, so they would not be on the way, that people would see Jesus and not them.

This was a much needed word! I am so frustrated with the celebrity culture in the church now. It is doing exactly what the book of James teaches us not to do and that is be respectors of persons. And as you said, the focus is not on Jesus but people & personalities so we are not seeing the healings and deliverances as much because of that.
One last thing, this word is confirmation of a word I heard in prayer a couple days ago and that is-a little leaven levens the loaf/lump depending on what bible version its read in. Its found in Galatians & 1st Corinthians chapter 5. It spoke of the pride, false doctrine and impurity that had crept into the hearts of people in those situations and the result would be detrimental if not dealt with.
Today, it can also be applied to things or people that are not right that people are allowing into their lives that will cause great harm. God is warning us to stay away from the leven or self-effort and self-exaltation or the results will be deception and then loss of his best for us which represents the whole lump (purified).
