I bumped into you at Stafford when you were filming on the 28th last month. Just found your site (and the Stafford vid, with me just about staying out of sight !!). Great work Mr Tornado. Love your work. Subscribed.
An impressive video mate! Nice and short but a deep sense of Variety, a few nice tones, a few mares, the odd surprise of the Northern 323 units & the cross style layout. Not to mention your witty dialogue which adds flavour! Keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks very much, I would have liked to have stayed a bit longer but unfortunately time was against me as I had to get to Lichfield so I could catch a WMR service to get back into Birmingham in order to get to Wolverhampton
An excellent video again and I guess this will all bode well for your rush hour session later on this year! Nice to see lots of freight it must be said albeit minus Freightliner! I think the highlight though has to be the class 60 on the tanks. Just in case you're interested in the numbers on the wagons, I do know a couple from this video and the rail care branded tank is 88046 while the one with the bits of grey paint on it on one side of the tank is 88171 and that also without the ladders on it. Whatever the ladders are used for on the tanks I don't know! The usual load of tanks on the Kingsbury-Humber workings and vice versa is 30 or 32, so 28 tanks perhaps what you may not always expect on there. I managed to see a 66 on the Lindsey-Kingsbury loaded tanks on Wednesday plus another one on the Kingsbury-Humber empty tanks on the same day along with a 60 in its Puma livery on the Humber-Kingsbury loaded tanks! Talk about winners there! The Puma liveried 60 incidentally is 60074 'Luke'. Any 60 though is nice to see on the tanks. The Lindsey-Kingsbury working if it did manage to run on the day would have been nice to see in this video but oh well! I guess you can't win them all! Still a nice selection of freight nevertheless at a station that could be one such that is known for having a freight frenzy! It certainly delivered here didn't it!
Tamworth is always a great station to come to because of the vast amounts of freight and passenger traffic that you get coming along, although it would have busier if the XC route wasn't closed for engineering works which I think are for HS2 unless I'm mistaken. I'm impressed that you know the numbers of the oil tankers, I certainly wouldn't be abler to remember all that.
@@Tornado922 You mean able! Yes I do know the numbers but mainly when I am at Nottingham Station due to the speed of the freight trains through there. Two of them in the video here were easy to identify despite its fast speed. The VTG stickers on some of their wagons advertise safety I think. Basically on the top it says that safety is no accident.
Just as an idea if you're looking for the better views on the lower level of Tamworth, there should be a lift and some steps to where the other platform is from the upper level platform you were on. Basically it's just an idea for when you do your next rush hour film! To be fair the low level does have amazing views on the platform adjacent to the one you were on! Mind you it's not so easy having to scramble for the next train from the upper level to the lower level! The same could be said with Smethwick Galton Bridge but Lichfield Trent Valley would probably be easier as usually only West Midlands Railway serve the upper level there! I guess stations with two levels can usually be hard on terms of picking the best viewing spots though and I guess Tamworth could well illustrate this! I'm expecting more wind to feature in the forecast on at least some days next week (or this depending on the day the comment is viewed), so do stay safe out there if you're planning to do any filming! Also fingers crossed the gaming side of the channel comes back soon!
I know the area that you mean but I think in terms of overall views of the line in either direction on the low and high levels I would be better off staying where I was doing my filming from
Excellent scramble by the way to get from one freight to the other! The views are probably better on the other platform on the lower level but I can understand why you usually stick to the two platforms whatever numbers they are as can be illustrated by the scramble!
Looking at what I can see in the description box below on Cross Country's diversions via Lichfield Trent Valley, I probably should have said do Lichfield Trent Valley! Oh well! Never mind!
@@Tornado922 That would be 'to'! Also now I should have said do both Tamworth and Lichfield Trent Valley, the first for all that freight and the second for all of the Cross Country diversions! Maybe this year you'll get to cover some diversions! Carlisle for example in November on a weekend (not sure which weekends as a whole) I think would likely get some LNER diversions, so there's something that you could maybe think about!
@@Tornado922 im not to bad thanks, just waiting for Greater Anglia to run their trains from Norwich to Stansterd airport so i can go to Brandon station (my local) to get some Horns.
For less than 2 hours on a Saturday morning that was a pretty impressive array of traffic you saw and plenty of freight. Thanks.
I was very surprised with the amount of freight that I was getting
Very busy morning; nice footage

Great video 🍺👍
Very good amount of freight in the video GBRF
Never gonna complain about the amount of freight coming through, this bodes well for when I come back here for a rush hour film later in the year

I think the area where I was standing is perfect as it allows me to go to the lower level within seconds.

Tamworth Has A Lot Of Freight
It is a great station to come to for freight
@@Tornado922 I Like Watching West Coast Main Line Videos. It Is My Favourite Mainline And It Connects To Other Lines
I think Tamworth should be called the Compass Station hence the North-South High Level and the East-West Low Level.
Sounds good
Great Video Any chance you could go back to Wolverhampton train station
Thanks very much, I have released a film from Wolverhampton earlier this morning
How about Coventry?
I will get that done at some point this year, but I can't say when that will be
Could you do Coventry again?
I will get that done at some stage this year

I use a website called Realtimetrains for all of my information
