The gloves are gauntlets and obviously the second one is based off of General Custer in my opinion

Disappointing that they re-used the trooper private jacket for the junior officer and didn't apply the rank shoulder boards.
The Major General is based on the Civil War whilst the Junior officer isn't.
The holster issue is because the Major General used that style of holster.
Apparently they couldn't make the flap holsters, so you could put the pistol in it for whatever reason.
