- Watch in HD as airline pilots demonstrate how to deal with strong crosswind landings. Winds were steady at around 15 knots gusting from the south-southwest to 20+ with a negative wind chill. Landings are on runway 28C at Chicago O'Hare International Airport KORD / ORD. Temperature was slightly above zero but as usual I filmed ....without a tripod!! #Dedication.#Avgeek. #Planecrazy. :D Happy winter, folks!

Thanks. I tried. Really I didn't think this was that good but since I filmed it, I'll post it. My camera was bouncing around, I was shivering, yeah.... hopefully in summer i'll get better shots.

I traveled to chicago in december and im pretty sure thats how my flight landed, it was frightening

Made this channel as I felt ORD needed one dedicated to it, who knows where it'll go in future but for now it's almost all Chicago . It makes the waiting a little easier for me too. Ok, I'm just like...WOW! This is the best video I have EVER seen of plane spotting :) Your stabilization is fantastic even though you don't use a tripod (: Really sweet job, it was incredible! Love this spot, you should come here more often! Crosswind landings are really cool, and you perfectly captured the beauty of them! Incredible sound as well, love the heavies! The KLM 747 in the beginning was awesome, and the Lufthansa A343 was great -- and yes, that aircraft usually flies the EWR route - that, or D-AIGV. And the UA 777 was BEAUTIFUL at the end, cool that it wasn't Continental lol :3 Super well done, I loved it :) So glad that your videos are back :D This video was really epic and the best I've seen....again lol. A HUGE HUGE HUGE LIKE from me! Nice job.

You are the best ORD spotter out there. Well done! Keep it up. I have a request I am a huge 747-8i LH fan and if you can get a descent long video of it landing on 28C at that spot your at that would be great. If you can get it on a 2-3 mile final that also would be cool if your camera can't focus out that far then get it as far out as it can go. Hope this is ok. Thanks a ton and happy spotting

Great spot. Looks like O'Hare gets a decent variety of traffic.
LOL! yes, ORD gets most of the international traffic JFK gets with many of the airlines being the same airliner types. We just have a lot of UA and AA so a few routes have some changes... This was actually a pretty slow day and I was thinking of not spotting at all originally.
