  • Yarha 2 is convincing fiberglass Manchu bow from Alibow developed to resemble the appearance and performance of Qing dynasty military bows. With draw weight of #80 at 35" it meets the minimum required strength for a bow that Qing military archers were supposed to handle.

Beautiful bow, also since you mentioned that you would make the arrows yourself could you please make a video on that topic, it's would be very interresting to see how you make them, since there are many way to make one.

It's a lucky day for you, and everyone else interested, since I've already made arrow making video episode in the past. Here it is, with some historical manchu arrows nicely on display as well:
      ua-cam.com/video/q1iniLrHeqY/v-deo.html
I work for the upcoming arrows for this bow in the same way, but use different (thickers and heavier) shafts and longer fletching.

Can't wait for 130, 140, 160 lb Manchu bows, so there's finally something besides english longbows for high power heavy-arrow shooting.

So, at your draw length and 75lbs, the minimum arrow weight is 1125 grains!!! Quite a heavy arrow, should be fun!

Прекрасный боевой лук. Очень массивный, подозреваю, что отдача там огромная.

I look forward to you shooting this bow, I am waiting on a Yarha 2 myself. Can I ask where you have sourced the arrow shafts, I understand I may just have to make them myself but interesting if their is a good supply somewhere.

Hello there, fellow Yarha II shooter.
Bunch of arrows finished by now and I'm awaiting to have time for proper shooting next week.
      Stay tuned.
I've used the long and sturdy birch shafts from Fairbow to make my Manhu arrows:
      fairbowusa.com/collections/shafts/products/birch-shafts-13-mm-36inch-long?variant=31394705571933
...but you can order custom Manchu (and many other) arrows from Fairbow as well.

@@UgriArcher I will look forward to you shooting it, and also seeing how you stop the arrows as I'm sure I will need to update my target.
Thank you for the information I will have a look, out of interest do you know the diameter and the weight of the historical Manchu arrows or maybe you could put it in the video you do.

@@mrln247 You can find very, very detailed description and measurements of Manchu war arrows here:
      www.battle-of-qurman.com.cn/literature/Dekker-2015b.pdf
They had pretty much standardized arrows so my antique Manchu War arrow is naturally of very similar proportions.

This bow seems too long to be used on horseback. Maybe it is historically meant to be used by infantry.

In the military and hunting, this type of bow was used on horseback mostly. In practice and strength training, it was used on foot.

@@gussie88bunny you're mistaken. The bow was used mostly on horseback.

These bows, despite of their size and power, are and were completely usable on horseback too. And Manchus were very famous of their horseback archery skills too. Martial examinations with very strong bows included the horseback archery too. There's no difference in Manchu bow design whether it's used on foot or horseback.
