I love these comments. You all realize that we may only be hearing one or a few radio channels for the large incident. In this state we like to use multiple channels for larger incidents. Also you are listening to the air traffic control tower contact dispatch directly to inform about the crash. It was posted locally ( and only if you could hear all channels of operation would you understand) but someone that was on incoming units from Windsor locks that that could hear everything said you could not tell the difference between this incident and a drill. Also we're only hearing that units are out of water, I listened to other communications from this incident and all units (called rescues, crash trucks) reported continuously their water levels and needing a replacement unit before leaving to go refill. And they shut the airport down and cleared all units to take most direct route to the crash

    Electronic dispatch?

Dispatching and communications sounds horrible. Slow, and nobody knows what's going on.

This seems to be a a slice of multiple agencies and frequencies. Tower to dispatch, Airport Fire, and the local FD which are all different frequencies.

How come we're not hearing dispatch sending 2nd alarm and calling mass calgiluty and sending more medics and alambices

First no one took command and dispatch was slow on even general task to get more medics they were wanting to know where to stage in coming trucks three minutes in the first engine was out of water. I really don't mean to put this fire department down but my eyes too many mistakes were made because of lack of communication.. But I was glad to see 7 people made it out. To the one that were lost rip...

2nd and higher alarms at the time would have been done over the police hotline, as at the time, they were the contact point for mutual aid fire companies and ambulances

This airport has multiple predetermined points where the second alarm companies respond to based on location of the incident and the dispatch is confirming which location to use. All second alarm units are coming from local towns and are not part of the airports department.

What not to do in a emergency, so full of fail guessing people died due to the lack of care, starts at the dispatch level and goes to the fire ground, jesus people this is the day you plan for...
