Vaness is at her absolute best here. She took on roles bigger than her voice could handle and she sometimes phoned in a performance if the conductor or her onstage colleagues did not bring a challenge to her but she was a great soprano who, when in the right role, could hardly be matched.
Brava vocalmente, in particolare nelle discese sotto al rigo e nelle agilità, fluide e mai fini a se stesse. Le intenzioni interpretative però non emergono sempre e la nostra Fiordiligi ha si passione, ma non quel calore tanto femminile che Daniela Dessì ad esempio, diffonde dal cuore.

Carol‘s diction is excellent. Those who criticise her probably don’t speak Italian themselves. One of the best Fiordiligis ever.
The two ladies of Cosi are usually portrayed as delicate young flowers, this flower is in FULL radiant bloom. I loved it.

Her diction was never that great….especially the Spanish songs she sang in concert….she could never roll her “r” …however the voice was beautiful

I prefer her live at Stokholm. Here the conductor is too reactive at the beginning and late to her like a clock.
