The late great Kyle Anderson threw his darts at an odd angle where the tip would be pointing towards the left of the dart board. Best footage I've seen of it is his legendary 9 dart finish against MVG. Unorthodox but effective. RIP you massive legend
Fun fact, Tom Heldt, the number one is NO dartitis counter and he is hell of a player, constantly placing around top 16 in the dev tour order of merit and multiple time regional champion in germany
That’s amazing that it’s not dartitis related. How on earth does one settle on that throw otherwise? Incredible but clearly effective for him. Be good to see him make the big stages.
I'm left handed and right eye dominant so I'm guessing that what Bobby George was doing, lining the dart up with his dominant eye. I have also tried this and have no idea how he can throw like that, it's so uncomfortable lol. Good vid!
Not only does Bobby George throw from his left eye being the dominant eye and right handed. But so does Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor. But they both throw from the middle of their face or right eye. As for Christian kyst and mensur both had dartitis and that is how they got over it. It is not that anyone had a weird throw but it is whatever works for them
The thing with Bobby George is he used to dart himself because of the angle he threw them. The first dart used to cover the the T20 if he hit it. Like this dude said, I am surprised he did so well...but hey, whatever works right.
The commentary made it all the funnier. I've only ever thrown a few hands of darts as a child in a pub (almost killed my aunt), and I want to try my hand at it again. Seeing these eccentric throws gives me license to experiment

Going to try a few of these out tomorrow during my practice for a laugh, although the Bobby george one might come in handy as my sight is getting worse in my right eye.

@@GeniusDarts I wonder how these players ever found out that the uncanny way they throw works for them. They'd have to be a time where they transitioned into it but how?
My favourite dart throwing action is Mervin king. I love his silky smooth action and the way he spins the dart as he pulls it back and then releases. The worst has to be number 3 in this video. If ya jockey ya might as well camp out for the night. My god.
My grandad threw his darts with his hand down by his side, then, from there, underarmed at board. Not a bad player and didn't injure as many people as you'd imagine.
Colin Monks throw was a classic, what with the mouth and the leg kick. A bloke on our team had the leg kick too and we called him Kick-start! It was a great social distancing measure in its day too, you'd never want to be to close behind him on his throw! I recall Bobby George (right handed) also saying once that his brother, who threw with his left hand threw with the exact same style on the other side of the face! Must be hereditary? Lol Stay lucky people ;-)
