    Just got back from a tour. Perfect conditions. Snokling is a must as your walking down the peir towards the island to the right. Not close to the beach but out abit further where the peir angles out.

    Thanks Chris. I hadn't actually realised there was so much to do on Green Island and have always passed over that as an option in the past. The snorkelling doesn't look too bad either with plenty of variety. Might take another look at Green Island now. Thanks for putting this together.

      Your welcome guys... green island actually surprised me too and it was a nice quick trip.
      I wanted to see the difference between and close island to the outer reef and that's why we choose green island. We did the outer reef off port Douglas on a day trip... now that was expensive...lol.
      The snorkeling was better than I thought and was glad to see the creatures I did, but I did venture areas that beginners wouldn't go to.
      Thanks for watching guys 😁👍

    Wow Chris it seems you had a great day for snorkeling. We hope to snorkel the great barrier reef one day.
    The underwater footage you captured was amazing. I really liked seeing the turtle, it's markings were a little different compared to what we are used to seeing in the Caribbean.

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  2 роки тому +1

      I wonder what kind of turtles you have there? We see a lot of Green Turtles and Loggerheads along the coast here in Queensland. In fact, I have seen baby loggerheads making their way down the beach near Bundaberg ( that was a very early video). I did a quick google and seems you have a couple of there, would be good to see other variety's one day!
      This was a brilliant day snorkelling and there is a video coming up from a different area, but a lot deeper water... so it changes the environment. Diving is still more calmer though, especially for filming...Can't wait to get back out diving again soon!

    Hi there Chris, found your channel only a couple of days ago and the misso and I are amazed at the great videos. As a couple of Britz who are planning our Oz QLD road trip for next year 2023 July - Sept you are giving us so many amazing ideas to choose from and it’s great that we can see the weather as it is now. Defo giving Green Island a visit but you do send a shiver down our backs every time you mention crocs especially when you were paddle boarding the Cobbold Gorge and then calmly mention the crocs bathing! 😀. Keep up the good work and hi to the very cool laid back Matt 🤘🏻

      Hi Andy.... thanks so much for the nice message and had to have a laugh at the croc comment.
      Know there is a big difference between fresh water and salt water crocs... saltys are the bad ones but just to make it more confusing...they both live in fresh water.
      It's ok to be around fresh water crocs most the time... as long as they don't feel threatened.
      As for the QLD video's...I have plenty there for you to watch and keep yourself occupied.... I actually just released another great barrier reef video yesterday too... this one goes to the outer reef, which was a little different.... you should check it out 👍👍

    The water around Green Island looks so beautiful and clear! The island actually had a lot more than I thought it it would, I was imagining nothing in it! Lol 😂 Definitely some cute fish to see even a stingray! Was that sea cucumber caught in trash?

    • @AquariusTraveller

      It did have a lot more than some of the Island I have been on.
      In Season we can get hundreds of those blue spots stingrays altogether...it a very cool site.
      Nope, That wasn't trash on the Sea Cucumber. That was his defence mechanism. It's a sticky white substance he spits out of his hole ...it was like that when I saw him, so obviously something upset him. There a fun fact you learnt today :)

I don’t know if he’s got much longer.. but he’s an amazing critter.. oh yer bring some lunch and a few beers if you want to save some $$$. Hi there guys you’re doing quite good reviews but it’s disappointing that you don’t mention any prices for any of the island trips, or admissions to various activities, museums or anything else as at your date of travel. For a pensioner especially this is extremely important, anyway thanks for sharing, but prices would be very useful as an indication even though they change with time.

    • @AquariusTraveller
      @AquariusTraveller  Рік тому +1

      Hey Garry, Appreciate the Feedback and thanks for letting me know. Prices change from year to year and I generally reserve mentioning them in my Blog. Simply because it's easier to keep up to date with the latest prices.
      You tube's can't be edited and sometimes within 6 months, they can change. The tours are also varied, depending what you want to do and not everyone pays the same amount.
      I do have a blog link in the description where you can research and check this out. On the other hand, from memory Green Island was one of the cheapest Great Barrier Reef options from Cairns and roughly $120 per person.
      :) Thanks for watching
