Looks great Allen! A nice shop is paramount. I spend so much time in mine that I might as well have a bed out there. I know nothing about knife making or forging and my shop is just a woodworkers shop, I do have a round forge almost identical to yours (with the hand crank blower) but I have never used it. I envy all your metal working machinery but I am satisfied with my shop since it fits my area of experience and it keeps me sane. Right now I am refurbishing a old one piece school chair-desk that was manufactured in 1934. Great to see you doing so well!

I would love to have more woodworking tools. But, space is at a premium. Plus, my neighbor is well set up for wood and helps me out when I need something that I don’t have.

Looks nice Allen. It feels good to be able to move around better in the shop and get everything organized. I usually take a section at a time and clean it up. You're right, every flat surface is a target for clutter. btw, I found the little metal lathe I was looking for which caused the domino effect in my shop. Finding a place for it to live caused several places to shift. I hope to see you soon.

Will Holt it does get frustrating when things get unusable due to clutter. I have never made it to the point of being organized. But, I have made it to the point of frustratingly unorganized and I do t care for it. Glad to hear that you found a lathe. Should be fun.

Shop's looking NICE. I'm still in full-on shop buildout frenzy mode, but I only have half a garage to work from so I have to be extremely careful with anything bigger than a hand tool. I am hitting the point where I get a VERY good feeling when I walk into the shop. I have enough in there now to have the freedom to create almost anything I can figure out how to make. I now desperately need to save up for a deep freeze to keep my portable A/C charged up, plywood and 2x4s to build 3 of my work benches and get as much free space created as possible.

Definitely have to be careful about what you bring in. I just got rid of several things that I didn’t use and some other items ended up in the attic if I couldn’t part with them. I also used to occupy half a garage and then my wife gave me the other half as a present one year. That was an amazing gift!

Allen Newberry I am officially enrolled in school so I can go into a high end field of work. That's hopefully going to put us on 10-15 acres with either a full size barn I can retrofit to suit my wants or room to have a custom building put up with commercial grade HVAC and tons of bells and whistles. I also hope to allow my wife to retire early. We DID have to talk me out of a $20 six drawer metal desk because ot was just going to cause a million problems until I could make the space to make it useful.
