      The preacher is ignorance of the fact stated in the book of Ephesians 4:5. States that , there's only *ONE* baptism. Baptism in water immersion in a river (Jordan) in the Name of Jesus Christ. Period.
      Gal.3:27 for as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
      Col.2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also you are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God......
      Col. 3:17 And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
      Now. Baptism is a deed that should be done in the Name of Jesus Christ.
      Peter stated it in the book of Acts. 2:37-38. In the name of Jesus Christ.

      Too bad he's confused himself. There's only one way they baptized in Acts.
      Acts 2:38
      Matthew 28 first off has evidence someone changed that scripture after the 1st century.
      2nd, even if it is original scripture it's easy to explain ; IN THE NAME OF......
      Just ask yourself "what's the name?" JESUS!
      Keep it simple and get baptized according to Acts 2;38 , for the remission of your sin.
      The sinner's prayer tradition is what confuses people. It's because it wasn't practiced, nor taught by the early church. You can't even find a hint of someone being led in prayer for salvation in Acts.
      Study Acts and write down what happened everytime someone was saved.

    I baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins since act 2:38, 8-12:16, 10:48, 19 five are fulfillment of Matthew 28:19, and since the name of the father, the son, and the Holy Ghost is all encompassed in one name Which is in the Lord Jesus Christ. We can also see that from Mark 16:16 and Luke 24:47. But if people use both and that is where they are in their understanding, I’m good with that. Just don’t leave out the name of Jesus Because his name is above every name.

    I don’t know why people think that one Corinthians 12:13 has to be some spiritual baptism, other than water and spirit. I tend to believe that it is the baptism of the Holy Spirit according to act 2:4, 10-404:46, 19-1:6, Ephesians, one: 13, Galatians 3:5, 14, Hebrews 6-1:3. if it is a spiritual baptism, which I do not doubt, when believers were baptized with the Holy Spirit, they spoken languages they had never learned, and we can read about this as well in one Corinthians 14. This is where the power of God comes upon believers to be witnesses, act one: eight and we see the fulfillment in chapters 2, 10 and 19. But I don’t know where we have this idea of some mystical unknown baptism that happens to us at belief. The only one that I normally ever see pointed to in this area is one Corinthians 12:13. An act 19, Paul asked the proverbial Ephesian Baptist if they had received the Holy Spirit when they believed. if this was obvious, it would’ve been a dumb question. Paul saw something lacking in the Ephesian disciples, and they didn’t even know that Christ had risen from the dead. They were walking in the light that they knew, and they had John’s baptism, but they had not received Christian water or spirit baptism And we see their two baptisms taken care of in act 19. Good stuff though. Not being disagreeable or anything, but I have a passion for the subject of both water and spirit baptism. Seems to be what Jesus is talking about in John 3:5, but anyhow.

    Old Covenant Baptism vs. New Covenant Baptism (water vs. Spirit)
    Water baptism was a part of the Old Covenant system of ritual washing. The Old Covenant priests had to wash before beginning their service in the temple. (Ex. 30:17-30) When Christ was water baptized by His cousin John in the Jordan River, He was under the Old Covenant system. He also only ate certain foods, and wore certain clothes, as prescribed by the 613 Old Covenant laws. Christ was water baptized by John and then the Holy Spirit came from heaven. (Acts 10:38) The order is reversed in the New Covenant. A person receives the Holy Spirit upon conversion, and then believers often declare their conversion to their friends and family through a water baptism ceremony. Which baptism makes you a member of Christ’s Church?
    The New Covenant conversion process is described below. (Born-again)
    Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
    Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
    (A person must “hear” the Gospel, and “believe” the Gospel, and will then be “sealed” with the Holy Spirit.)
    Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
    (See Jer. 31:34 for the New Covenant promise, and 1 John 2:27 for the fulfillment)
    ============
    Which baptism is a part of the salvation process, based on what the Bible says?
    What did Peter say below?
    Acts 11:15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.
    Acts 11:16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
    Based on Luke 3:16, and John 1:33, and Acts 11:15-16, the most important thing about the word "baptize" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water. The Holy Spirit is the master teacher promised to New Covenant believers in Jeremiah 31:34, and John 14:26, and is found fulfilled in Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27. Unfortunately, many modern Christians see water/ every time they read the word "baptize" in the text.
    Based on the above, what is the one baptism of our faith found in the passage below? How many times is the word "Spirit" found in the passage, and how many times is the word "water" found in the passage?
    Eph 4:1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
    Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
    Eph 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
    Eph 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
    Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, (See 1 Cor. 12:13)
    “baptize” KJV
    Mat_3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
    Mar_1:8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
    Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Water or Holy Spirit?, See Eph. 1-13.)
    Luk_3:16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
    Joh_1:26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
    Joh_1:33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
    1Co_1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
    1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. (See Eph. 4:1-5)
    Heb 9:10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. (Old Covenant ----> New Covenant)
    How many people have been saved by the Old Covenant water baptism of John the Baptist?
    Who did John the Baptist say is the greatest Baptist that ever lived in Luke 3:16? What kind of New Covenant baptism comes from Christ?
    Hebrews 9:10 Old Covenant vs. New Covenant
    (ESV) but deal only with food and drink and various washings, regulations for the body imposed until the time of reformation.
    (Geneva) Which only stood in meates and drinkes, and diuers washings, and carnal rites, which were inioyned, vntill the time of reformation.
    (GW) These gifts and sacrifices were meant to be food, drink, and items used in various purification ceremonies. These ceremonies were required for the body until God would establish a new way of doing things.
    (KJV) Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.

    Also noticed that the name of Jesus is mentioned in every single baptism in the book of act as well as taught the pistols. We have the one singular name, and Matthew 28:19. After that, there is always the name of Jesus. An act 2:38. We have the name of Jesus Christ. In 8-12:16, we have the name of Jesus Christ and the name of the Lord Jesus. In 10:48, the king, James, and some other say “the name of the Lord “, but many many translations say the name of Jesus Christ and that’s what it says in the Greek. Check it out in 19:5, we have the name of the Lord Jesus. Compare act 22:16 when Paul calls, in the name of the Lord through baptism, and one Corinthians one, the first few verses. All the saints who call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. The way that believers called on the name of the Lord is through baptism And the apostles pointed to that in their teachings. Baptism is part of the package and we need to not emphasize it so strongly to say that people can absolutely not be saved apart from it, because that is not biblical according to Romans, four versus 11 and following. Abraham was reckoned righteous before circumcision, and he was reckoned righteousness through faith, which is how new covenant believers are reckon righteous, Romans, 4-24:25, 5-1:3, etc., but it would still be wrong to act as the baptism is only symbolic, and that there is no grace imparted through it when appropriated through faith, Colossians 2-11:12. Salvation has multiple components and baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins is one of those components, and cannot be neglected, neither can it be seen as merely symbolic, but part of Christian initiation, as it has been for thousands of years.

    There is a disconnect there. The Bible teaches that you get saved when your sins are forgiven. You get your sins forgive/washed away at water baptism. You get water baptised after hearing the word, believing it, repenting of your sins and then getting baptised. And that's when we receive the Holy Spirit, at water baptism, But it seems at 27:27 the pastor is saying you get saved before you get baptised. That doesn't agree with the scriptures shared. From what I read in Acts scriptures that he shared, Acts 2: 38 "Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit" so during water baptism 2 things happen: a. God forgives your sins and b. God deposits the Holy Spirit in you. So one gets saved at water baptism not before that. And from thats what it means to get baptised with water and the spirit coz allt hear happen at water baptism, and Jesus in John 3:5 confirms "Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit." This all happen at water baptism. What do y'all think?

      If you look at the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus. Notice Nicodemus believed Jesus was from God, before Jesus warned him he needed to be born again. "We know that you come from God, for no man can do these things which you do unless God is with him." Even though Nicodemus believed, he still was not born again.
      Jesus knew Nicodemus and his pharisee companions had "rejected the counsel of God not being baptized of John" so Jesus insisted, warning Nicodemus if he wasn't baptized in water, he would not enter the kingdom of God.

    I believe we are forgiven when we repent and believe, but I do believe our sins are buried according to Roman six. Paul does not say it is like being buried with him in baptism, but it is being buried with him and baptism and Colossians two and Romans six. Why don’t we just believe what it says? Baptism is not just symbolic, but it is effectual, if accompanied with repentance and faith, in the name of Jesus. It is for the remission of sins, according to acts 2:38 and 22:16 and it is a part of the salvation package, according to Mark, 16:16 and one Peter 3:21. That doesn’t mean that if someone had a chance to get to the water and they died before it happened or they didn’t have a knowledge or whatever that they would go to hell, but also, I don’t give people an out who would want to refuse what baptism either. If Jesus did it being sinless as our example, we are obligated to do it, because we definitely need it. Think about the fact that in Exodus 12, we have the blood applied to the Israelites door post, and they have a certain amount of protection, but when they go through the cloud in the sea, they experience the deliverance from Egypt, and unless they turned around and went back, Egypt could have no hold on them, and we know that Egypt is a type of the world. This is why we need the whole act to: 38 package. Repentance, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, obedience to God through baptism, in Jesus name, and the reception of the Holy Spirit, act 2:38 and 39, 10-44:48, 19-1:6, etc.
