Hi Ms modeller. Its nice to see you again. I,m not a big 'chopper ' fan but I must say that does look like a nice kit. There's plenty of it. I particularly like the glazed nose section. Once you put the blades on it will take up some space, maybe try to find a way of taking off the blades for transport / storage. Thats one of the reasons that I din,t do helicopters, just to big. Anyway nice kit and a good video. Best wishes.

Hi Lexi. Yes, of course build it. Absolutely. I see "Big Windies" (Chinnook), usually about 3 at a time generally once a week and I look up every time.
It looks good as you show it there except (me on my hobby horse) Airfix have limitted the display opportunities by having no one to drive it. Why not include a couple of pilots so that we can have a bit of authenticity "in flight"? They must surely have CAD files of pilots they could add.
I've had one on order for about a month now, along with its spiritual greart great great grandfather the Bristol Belvedere (Vintage classic). Bristol (or I think it might have been after the Westland take over) sold the rights to Boeing Vertol so the lineage is clear.
As a quick tip, to those who may not know, in these tandem rotor designs the rotors are geared togther so as one blade passes over the body it is in the gap of the other rotor so a display should show that.
Airfix did a very good Lynx AH1 in the old days, as they did the Gazelle and Puma and I would love to see them rereleased as VC as I would love to see the Scout as well. (They all had pilots too!)

I'm excited to get mine done at some point! Pilot figures seem to be completely random these days; but I'll perhaps add some to mine! Depends how I want to do mine in the end! 👀

Before you get into the kit unboxing I want to say two things, firstly, I worked on the Chinook for 8+ years, the Mk1 and Mk2 variants, and secondly, I have the kit already and have my own opinions about it based on my experience with the real thing, and obviously I will be a bit biased because I know what could be right or wrong with the kit. Video time now is 1:37 .
@ 10:58 you really should make this kit, it is probably one of the most important aircraft that the RAF has, and BN was the most important Helicopter that was involved in the Falkland Islands war, it was the only Chinook to survive and operate “down south” and despite one cockpit door falling off and not having a spare BN still had to fly, but as both pilots were strapped in it was only the noise and buffeting from the airflow that hampered the communication between the crew, but speaking of pilots being strapped in, you will notice that the seats don’t have any seat harnesses, an oversight by Airfix? I don’t know but it is a bit strange that they are not included.
There are various little bits of detail that they have wrong but to the untrained eye 👁️ won’t be noticed, all in all a well produced kit. Thanks for another great review. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴🇺🇦

The REAL question is......does it Transform..lol...would look awesome with subdued Autobot symbols on it.....yeah im a Transformers nerd and from time to time i do models as Transformers in their alt modes /disguides as aircraft.
