I lost my ipad on the bullet train from Kyoto to Tokyo. On my find my phone app, I knew it was still at the Tokyo train station. I learned from our trip coordinator (she didn’t know it before I asked for help) that there are two Lost & Found offices there. One is for random stuff and the other was, drum roll, A LOST & FOUND FOR DIGITAL DEVICES!!!!! I got my ipad back the next day. After several questions from the clerk there, she presented to me my ipad. I wept. Only in Japan.
Majestic Tokyo station, so much to do, see, and eat in it lol. I wouldn't mind staying at that hotel, very convenient for traveling and visiting other cities, as well as being beautiful. Thank you for your hard work everyone, and please stay well and stay safe. Arigatou gozaimasu. 🌸🌸🌸
Luciana Borinato Sad but I think it will be grander next year thinking that they need to postpone this year. Expect an influx of tourists as well, that includes me! :)
Great video and interesting facts. Didn't know there was a hotel in the actual station building. However: keep your eye on the direction signs and don't get lost in the undergrounds of Tokyo Station 😅
Thank you guys for continuing to put out great content during the virus pandemic. My family and I cancelled our plans to visit in September after the Olympics had concluded, but we're already working on plans to visit Japan next year (apparently after those Olympics have concluded :P). Thanks for the many helpful tips and suggestions!
I can spend a whole week in Tokyo station without a need of going out (as long as wallet is fat enough), so many choices of good restaurants and stores in underground level.
The main entry has a site where one of the Japanese PM was stabbed to death long long time back. The visit to this station is absolutely essential to know the extent of the non fare revenue generated. Overall a marvelous place. My videos have a few on the Tokyo station too.
What a nifty little video. Tokyo station looks like a 'must visit' place to me. I would imagine that the hotel, which looks amazing, might be just a tad out of reach for my budget. But one can still dream.
Thank you for this video. A good place to get lost ;) If possible can you please tell me what "Shin" as in Shin Marunouchi Shin Sapporo etc etc mean? A few years ago i was doing a job in Hakodate and traveled from there back to Sapporo to get a flight back to Aust. Of course I got of the train at Sapporo and not Shin Sapporo where the airport is :(
❣❣❣...Japanese Shinkansen Train manufacturers, should setup its manufacturing plant, at Faridabad, Haryana, India... Bullet Train or Shinkansen etc should expand, Shinkansen Railway Network, in India, to 25000 Km by 2025...❣❣❣
The female narrator enunciates certain words with an English colonial accent e.g. bars/spas/airport/porter (5:00 Tokyo Station Hotel) which sounds discordant with her overall accent. Possibly a mix of Singaporean and American teachers?
@@stefandee1970I find it waste of time to keep on changing train station never again I’m going back there so disappointed.2024 some locals still can’t speak basic English.

WONDERFULLY educational with stunning visuals of the objects rather than the UA-camr!

Could you please do the same about Ueno and Shibuya?
In Japan everything is perfect!

Reminds me how many things about this time-honord station I did not know.
Fantastic information. Thank You!
Anyone else watching this video just sad about the Olympics? Have to wait another year before I can hear “次の駅は東京、東京駅です”.
Shout out to JR staff went I needed help to get a train to Shin-Amori!
I miss Japan so much
Visit twice every year but this year I don't think I am able to go. 😣
There is a great viewing gallery of the station at the KITTE mall.

shin + place name ==> another ~
for example, Shin Yokohama is another station not Yokohama.
@@patocar55 Many thanks for that :)

did you already have video on shinjuku or any of the other big metro-tokyo stations?
Aww the joy of going up and down the stairs not again 🙄

I was told that Tokyo station was inspired by the Amsterdam Central Station which looks quite similar ...

Wish they allow me to record using drones next time..
I try to avoid Tokyo station it’s just too darn big. Coming from south on Shinkansen shinyokohama Is easier alternative.

For the official Japan Guide site, a better English narration would be nice...
