I live in Jackson ms. This not my home town, but I was born in the gateway to the delta. A hurricane gave us some wind and rain. Katrina in Jackson ms was a cat 1 when it came through. Never seen anything like that before. I will never forget that moment. We didn’t make the news here in Jackson Mississippi, but it was like a giant tornado moved over the city. Power outages lasted for two weeks, lasting for weeks for some in this county. I saw homes destroyed businesses that we went to destroyed. No food or gas in the first few days. Just didn’t have cell phones like we have today to document what happened. The wind was insane, trees falling all day, they say it was a once in a 400 year storm. What just happened to Florida, was this there Katrina? This thing hit us in August 29,2005. At about 9:00am here in Jackson Mississippi the wind blew hard, lost power at 12:00 pm. Down hill from there. But like I said we didn’t make the news like New Orleans. Not a lot of rain but the winds were like crazy, born and raised in Mississippi, the name Katrina will be with me every time I hear the word hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. Those of us who went through hurricane Katrina who lived in Jackson Mississippi we’ll never forget the name Katrina! In our lifetime we never seen anything like that!!! We thought we were to far away from the gulf. We were wrong in this regard.
One name resonates for me when I think of Hurricane Katrina, and Biloxi. Hardy Jackson. Storm surge killed his wife, and I don't know how he survived. I live just west of Mobile, and it took weeks for us to clean up after this storm. If I had lived in Biloxi, I probably would have just moved away, like Mr. Jackson did.

And it was only a cat 3 ? Those winds seems to be cat 4
I have been there done that, no one wants a hurricane.. It's miserable.....
It's death all
right.....
27 foot Storm Surge will do that for sure
Why they built the 90 so close to Gulf with no barriers defys logic.
Who wants to play??? It is at 27' plus waves..... Don't try this at home....
Leave it to Profesionals trained to move when too dangerous to film.
well its not very likeable because you actual been siting there untill the video ended
Here comes the debris.
