I don't think this family is worth going back to. He just needs a good woman to make a true family that loves him, that he loves. Sometimes its a blessing to cut toxic family out and preserve yourself. Find good people, make them your family.
I think the moral lesson of the movie for me is never make favouritism to your kids and never compared them. Cause they are different individuals and beliefs in life.
He “evolved” and forgot where he came from even thinking he was better some instances. I think it did well in the end where he was able to bring his family on his show showing his true self and his family he was initially embarrassed of . Y’all kill me with this part time activism movie was bad for several reasons but still presented a relevant message despite being a product of its time.
This is a fan fiction I wrote before James earl jones death. A dark alternate to this fan fiction scenario Scene from the movie Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins on how I would play things out after the argument I discovered this movie by chance on a UA-cam recommendation. In my opinion, James Earl Jones character Darth Vader and Mufasta are better farther then papa Jenkins from this movie. After Roscoe Aka RJ and his dad argue, As his dad walked away, unable to control his rage, RJ attacked his dad. While everyone is shocked to see this attack against Papa Jenkins,. RJ sibling tries to stop them, but is told by Papa Jenkins to stay back. RJ says, “It time I take you off the high horse you put yourself on permanently, old man. Papa Jenkins says, “Stay back, everyone. It's time I remind Junior of his place in this family. Roscoe Jenkins, though, prefers to go by RJ. Steven has challenged his father, Roscoe Jenkins Sr., to combat to end years of resentment toward one another once and for all. The fight was brutal and bloody; Mama Jenkins could only cry seeing her husband and son fight it out. RJ gets the advantage after he pulls out a knife, stabs his father in the leg, and slashes his side. Papa Jenkins was on his knees. RJ says, “It's over for you, old man.” He is about to finish his dad off before Clyde steps in. Clyde says, "Rosco, please, I’m the reason for all your pain. Please take me instead, please, brother.” Papa Jenkins: "Clyde, don't.” RJ “I have a better idea. I Take you both out.” Stabs Clyde. “And you’re not my brother; you never were; You should have died with your parents; at least I would have missed you.” Clyde can only look into RJ's hate-filled eyes before collapsing dead. Papa Jenkins can only scream no, as the rest of their family can only hold back their tears for the recently deceased Clyde. Papa Jenkins tries his last attack, but RJ brutally punches him. RJ: “Why the tears, dad? You're going to miss your golden boy.” Another brutal punch to Papa Jenkins. Papa Jenkins said, What are you waiting for? Do it! He was in the ground, bloody and beaten. Papa Jenkins, said you came back just to show how different and strong you are so show me, FINISH ME junior! Betty Jenkins said don’t dad, Otis Jenkins said dad what are you thinking. Papa Jenkins said shut up both of you. Like I said this is between me and junior. RJ brutally punch papa Jenkins again with his fist holding the knife, RJ said don’t call me junior or Roscoe I always hate when you and anyone else called me that. He then kick his father while he on the ground three times. Papa Jenkins said you don’t have the guts to do it, Clyde would have gone through with it. Anger then fill RJ, he then grabs his father by the collar of his shirt, drags him to a tree, and proceeds to stab him. So deep into his thigh that when RJ pulled out the knife, his father would die instantly, bleeding out. RJ said, “Before you die and join your gold boy Clyde, I want to know why you always treated me as the black sheep of the family, as this family punching bag, before this anniversary party, before I left those nine years, before Clyde, before all of it. You treated me like a disappointment, like everything I did wasn’t good enough in your eyes. Always me, Otis could have been an NFL star if it weren’t for his knee injury, but you were happy he stayed as a sheriff for this hick town, Betty can get arrested so many times and have three failed marriages, yet you still love and support her. Clyde was always perfect in your eyes and could do no wrong; even when he did, you left him off easy because his parents were dead. But for me, you were always hard on me. There were moments when all you had to be was my father, yet you couldn't. You just kept seeing me as a disappointment. So why was it so easier for you to always look down on me and belittle me than to love me? WHY?? Papa Jenkins, with blood coming out of his mouth, said, I don’t know; I just did, till it got to the point where it was all I knew on how to interact with you. RJ then pulls the knife out of his father's chest as his father drops to his knees and tries to reach out to him with his hand. RJ smacks it away. His father's reaction to this rejection was one of sadness and shock before he collapsed and died. RJ walks away, As the rest of family come to the deceased body of Papa Jenkins and Clyde. Mama Jenkins say RJ I won’t hate you but we will always love you. RJ can only look back at her and the rest of his family, who only look at him with a sad face. He said it in an angry tone with hate in his eyes. “If you love me, how come none of you'll ever said it or said it enough? How come he never said it?” he asks, walking away from his family for the last time. Mama Jenkins only thought about how she always saw the situation and wished she could have spoken up more. She knew that Papa Jenkins only saw RJ as an extension of himself. He believed RJ was supposed to turn out like him just because he gave him his name and only saw disappointment in him for everything he did in his life that he didn’t do on his own, no matter how successful RJ became. He never looked into the mirror, seeing that he was the problem of RJ's painful life in their hometown's dripping springs. RJ will now dedicate his life to destroying his family name, the Jenkins clan, once his mother passes, so she won’t see its destruction. His current goal is to mold his son Jamaal into the kind of man he is. Whether Jamaal embraces this concept, we will have to see. RJ knew one thing: he wasn’t a Jenkins; in his eyes, he was a Steven. He was Dr. RJ Steven, a successful man who believed in the philosophy of my team of me.
After his death on yesterday they now show this in honor of his memory. RIP JEJ
His family was garbage except the kids and his mom. Everyone else horrible

Very true. I have 2 brothers and a sister. We all get along just fine because non of us were ever clearly favored.

This film promotes racial stereotypes. Roscoe had evolved, it's a shame.
it was the early 2000s are you really surprised
