    Dear Allison(Chana):
    The first thing Jewish male actors/directors do when they make it “Big” is marry a shiksa (who is not going to convert) & there goes the Jewish family & population. But more importantly there goes the self hate & lack of apologies for the virulent prejudice & so the non-recognition of Jews as a racial religious & cultural minority! As a (very pale)white-passing
    Jew (yes, Hitler missed another one) I always tried harder to learn more at my Hebrew school (Conserva-dox Jewish upbringing mostly in Riverhead, LI, NY)
    & became an over-achiever my whole life! Nobody ever believed that I am Sephardic (too pale) & that’s a whole other battle! I am now a fully practicing Orthodox Jew & proud of my full ethnic background. I fully support your efforts with our American culture to include us in universal celebrations called: books, music, dance, cartoons, movies & plays!
    Keep up the good work:

    This is so important. Thank you so much! I would like to see stories that have an Orthodox Jewish character, where they are just a person - a guy wearing a Kippah and no one mentions it. He just happens to be wearing a Kippah, but the character is not "Jewish" - he's just a guy like any other guy. I think that's really what we are missing in Hollywood. And women dressed as an Orthodox woman, who just is a character. No one mentions how she is dressed. Her Judaism doesn't matter. The character is the character. We have that now with female characters wearing hijabs. No reason Jews can't be depicted the same way. By the way, I noticed that in "The Calling", they used a fake Yiddish. I found it insulting. It meant that the creators - who are Jewish - believed that Yiddish is so unimportant that no one would notice.

    You should start a Jewish award show in hw. And award for best favorable Jewish film and actors. Hollywood appears to work for acclaim and awards so give them what they want if they give you what you want

      We already do this. It’s the JITC Media Awards. Our first one was in March. Our next one will be combined with our All Star Awards. Every Bureau does this.

    Silly thought malina saval should gather scripts like her own where the writers where forced to take the Jewish out and publish the original perhapes on a website or even in book form 👍if it's a good idea

      Nice idea but not nearly effective enough. Not enough people would read it to move Hollywood to make a change. It requires PR, social media, allies making statements and doing events, to really have an effect on scripts getting produced, etc.
