I only just found out about Shylmagoghnar today and I can safely say that I'm absolutely amazed at how good they are at what they do. I found the entirety of Emergence near flawless ( espcially the intro I am the Abyss) and this excerpt from the new album sounds no less than amazing too, good job you guys. I look forward to more of your music in the future.

Wow thank you... this really got to me. In a way this project is something we do to deal with things that just seem to get stuck in our heads. Sometimes positive, sometimes negative, but they are always things we have strong feelings about. So I think you could say that this project is therapeutic to us as well. It touches me deeply to know that it has such a profound effect on you. That is truly what it should be about.

I call this state that I use to have when hearing great music as a state of mind paralysis, sometimes getting goose bumps, sometimes I stare into nowhere and my brain is receiving that energy coming out of the music. I love it
I think it's no coincidence that this is the kind of state we try to get into when working on this project. It's one of the reasons why we tend to need rather long to produce an album from start to finish: if I catch myself thinking about technical aspects of the music, it is not yet finished. As soon as I cannot focus on minor details anymore because I get drawn into the track, it's ready. We're very glad to have found listeners who are looking for just that in their music!

Thank you kindly man, I'm very glad to see you are still following our progress after all this time! And yes, Journey will be on there for sure. It's one of the last 2 tracks that still need to be recorded, but... it just has to be on there!
I don't know if I have told you, but I had originally written that song to be on the debut. I felt it didn't fit in with the rest of the songs though (different atmosphere), hence why it was scratched. When we started writing for this upcoming album however, it immediately became one of the new cornerstones.
The final version of the song will be about as long as the demo, but with more variety; after the intro that old version was basically just a copy-paste x3 for myself to practice lyrics to. Funny how that one random version of a demo ended up still being publically available years later! :D Let's hope it draws some more people to your channel!
Is it true that this album will be somewhat more in a Black metal style than Melodic Death, as I would argue your first album was in? From the snippets that I've heard, that does seem to be the case. Very excited to hear how that plays out!
To be honest I don't know myself! Since we're so in the middle of this albums creation right now it's very hard to see it from an analytical perspective and we don't really write in a goal-oriented fashion (as in: "let's make this a melodic black metal song" for example). The music just sort of happens as we think about what we are trying to say with the album.
So I think it will have influences from atmospheric and melodic black/death like Emergence did, but it certainly has a character of its own as well. Maybe (hopefully) some of that character is already bleeding through in these snippets and is what you would consider a Blacker vibe. We'll leave that for you guys to interpret once it is finished! Don't overthink it though - it's really just a means to justify the end to us!

Sadly didn't really have the time to make more of them so I'm secretly hoping some of the fans will take care of that eventually :D
