Bob's spiritual connection with Africa, awesome adventure 🎉
Bob the natural mystic
Bob Marley was so prophetic in His belief's and love for the " Culture " , and a perfect example of " PRIDE " !!!!!!!!!!!
Love this story. I bumped into Bob Marley two days in a row, on a beach in Nassau, around New Year's 1977. Each time we just gave each other a polite head nod, because I couldn't believe it was him. I thought he was in the hospital in Jamaica, after getting shot. I was a huge fan. I had seen him on the Rastaman Vibrations tour. I had to fight the urge to say "Dude, you look just like Bob Marley!"
My life took strange turns after that, which eventually led me to Orthodox Church too. Last year I had the opportunity to attend a service at an Ethiopian Church for the first time.
Yes he and Nana Rita and children were there. I think they still own a home there.
God put that rasta man in Bob's path to help him for sure
Redemption Songs...that's what it's all about...
You should do a video on his baptism too. People never talk about it!
True
Yes I. Africa for the Africans.
Thank you for this little history lesson, and accompanying photos! 🙏🏼❤️🇱🇹
This is the 1st time I've heard an in depth conversation about Bob Marley's Ethiopian pilgrimage as far as documentation is concerned😃☝🏿, and I&I give Thanks😁🙏🏿❣ Once again,"Reggae Appreciation" is up for the win🙌🏿💚💛💖🙌🏿❣
Glad you liked it 😊✌️
Oh my, oh my! So Bob did visit Ethiopia? That makes me real happy 😊, because I always thought and heard that Bob passed without visiting the continent of Africa. Very heart-warming video. This video 📸 put a big smile 😀 on my face 😍. And to know that a beautiful statue was erected in his honor in Adis Ababa,, is an icing 🧁 on the 🍰. Thank you very much for this extra ordinary production. Much love and keep up the good work ☺️! Peace ✌️!
He visited Gabon and obviously Zimbabwe as well, and performed in both those countries.
MAX RESPECT Mr Marley (in the Hall of Fame)‼😁🌿🌿🌿
Alan skill Cole with the great Pele at the time Jamaica best footballer , when Pele club Santos played a friendly game with the National team, he was impressed with Cole skills, Santos then offered Cole a contract to play in Brazil but first he will have to cut off his dreadlocks but he refused, just to show you the rastafarians not greedy about money.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing
Good to see that Nana Rita was there with him.
This was brilliant
I'm glad you liked it ✌️ Thanks
La musique de bob marley est eternelle en Afrique.

Amazing. Thanks for this very informative video
Glad you liked it ✌️
Thank you for this!
💚💛❤As always, valuable musical & spiritual nourishment. In honor of 🇪🇹, "Amasegnalehu"(Amharic)/ Thank you, Yehenyenley sp? (Tigrinya), Galatoomi (Oromia). I wonder if Amharic was the language the Jamaican bredren spoke with the Ethiopian official as the did their "corner corner" deal before finally granting Bob the visa. Berhane Selassie ("Light of the trinity") J.A.🇯🇲 to the world. Thankful for roles of 🇳🇬 Nigeria & 🇰🇪 Kenya in getting Bob to the continent. Blessings to to Zim 🇿🇼
Thank you for sharing! Jah bless!!!
I am so glad that the other roots Reggae artsts like Bob followed Peter Tosh and Jimmy Cliff great and notable lead in campaigning for African liberation through their music. ❤💛💚🖤
Blessings to all authentic Rasta.
"Followed" you say... Bob had a song out(before Peter's,"Apartheid") called,"WAR" from 1976.... So it seemed that Peter Followed Bob's lead in dealing with African struggles☝🏿.. As for Jimmy Cliff, I'm not so sure🤔..
@@akinchinnery1167 Peter Tosh wrote 400 years when the Wailing Wailers Peter. Bob and Bunny was together and the Wailing Wailers recorded it together. Apartheid and War came after that. As for beloved Jimmy Cliff you say you don't know about his contribution. I am not going to educate you sbout Jimmy because for me it's best that some people don't know. Much blessings Peter, Bob and Bunny ❤💛💚🖤 just look how these nefarious ones try to alter the truth. The truth that all you three campaigned for collectively and individually.
@@MsWildberry1 "Nefarious", huh😄??? Wow, somebody's obviously in their feelings☝🏿.. You shouldn't take my response to your comment so personal.. Especially if your such a,",Real" one(chuckle).
@@akinchinnery1167 You couldn't disprove what I said because its factual. Instead you end your post with your damn fool chuckle. Is you who said that I am the real one, not I chuckle bwoy. And yu know what you wouldn't have thought it, then you write it chuckle chops. Just say sorry I got that one wrong, way way out wrong.
@@akinchinnery1167nobody followed nobody. Stop petty arguements.
I apprecilove you reporting Bob's pilgrimage to Ethiopia in this way. It is rarely mentioned that he belonged to the Ethiopian Orthodox Church & was baptized there, or that he lived in Germany for the last part of his life....
Is it not a contradiction to belong to a religion and to live Rastalogy (as a way of life)? No problem! 😉
I'm also very interested in history (more art history) & geography myself, and think your posts are super researched. Compliment! 🌻✌🏻😎
Thanks a lot. I'm glad you like the videos. Nice to connect to a fellow history lover. According to the Archbishop that baptized him, Bob wasn't too keen on people knowing he had converted as he was such a Rasta icon
@@ReggaeAppreciationSociety
Yes, that's exactly what I've read here in German books. But I think he didn't hide it so as not to disappoint as a Rastafari icon, but because he was aware of his important role model function for black people in general.
A very young man & already so wise at the time.🌻📚💡
Woooooow man I never heard about this amazing story thank you bro 👍🏽💯
Much appreciated, informative video,,, blessings. 👏🏾🙏🏾🤌🏿♨️💯🇨🇦🎇🌠🎆✨💎
Blessings ✌️ Glad you liked it
Mann i was looking for this stuff i preciate u
Great short compilation of the pilgrimage and the corrupt system that has since plagued Africa & Ethiopia, denying the very best of our own, someone who fought fervently against colonisers, trafickers and racists, enemy to his home country. Jah bless!
Big Ups, Bredren!! ~Jah Bless
Thank you for this. It was fantastic! We had a 5 hour layover at Addis Ababa airport a few years ago and I wanted to head out to see the statue so badly, but didnt think we had enough time. The people of Africa are absolutely wonderful.
Bob Marley, a true Rastaman
JAH Bless brother for this video ❤️💛💚
The song Zimbabwe was written by DONALD LEACH a member of the 12 Tribes Of Israel who was living in Shashamane in Ethiopia.-he gave the song to Bob when he visited Ethiopia. Check Alan Skill Cole who was there.
Lmao while in Ethiopia for the first time he thought let me write about Zimbabwe 🤣🔥🙌🏿
Another cool thing about this video is it gives a few clues about significant (even nefarious) people in his life. The novel, A BRIEF HISTORY OF SEVEN KILLINGS by Marlon James is brilliantly researched (& the audiobook is superb) addresses one of his manipulated bredrin in the assassination plot who fled to Ethiopia & another he forgave & kept close afterwards.
People who were the subject of ‘Bad Card’ ?
@@scotttaylor7444 Please pardon my delayed response. Hmmm. That adds another dimension. I wasn't explicitly thinking about that, but now I will. It's certainly plausible. And he sang about shady characters like in "Revolution". "Never make a politician do you a favor. They will want to control you forever." It made me wonder to whom he was referring, though it's likely the PNP because the concert which led to the assassination attempt was attributed by some to presumed allegiances to Michael Manley and the PNP because the elections were declared around that time. It seems he rightly felt ambushed - no pun intended. Manley for sure was a better choice than Seaga who was referred to as "Reagan's man in Jamaica". Still, being Rasta- as we know- he didn't want to be connected to either political group. Please share your thoughts on "Bad Card" cos I'd always wondered about it.

Thank you for this video.

Cool but I can't help but wonder why the Ethiopian embassy or consulate wouldn't give Bob a visa

Wait, why was he denied a visa?
❤❤😂
Diaspora Africans aren’t of Ethiopian descent. In fact many Ethiopians don’t even consider themselves to be Africans. I know this from first hand experience.
Apprecialove, your presentation is excellent! Keep shining your love light for guidance and protection. 🙏🫶🏼👏❤️💛🖤💚🎶👑🔥🇯🇲🪘🌎
