Love watching and listening about your parrotlets. I’m adopting one tomorrow and after bonding and taming I will definitely be getting her a friend after now seeing this.
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you'll be getting a second one after you bond with the first. I'm sure all 3 of you will be very happy. If you haven't had a Parrotlet before, you will love having one. They are easy to take care of, on the quiet side of parrots and they have big personalities.
I’ve done a ton of research on parrotlets, but I can only afford one and I heard it’s harder to bond with them if there is more than one and also it makes them more territorial, can I get away with just having one?
Do you recommend getting a female companion for a male parrotlet ? Or is it better to get same sex companions instead?? I have an 11 month old male Parrotlet and have been debating on whether to get him a companion. He is 1000% bonded to me since I had hand fed him from a baby.
Hi! Did you get another parrotlet? I have an almost two month old female and want to get another one but not sure if I should get her another female companion. I don’t want them to breed so thats why a male is not an option for me, not sure though!
Can you add another parrotlet when your existing p’let is 5 months old already? Mine is a male and I don’t want to breed….can 2 males get along and bond with each other? Thank you for putting these videos out and being willing to be a resource for questions!
Thanks for your thanks - Yes, you can add a 2nd Parrotlet, and 5 months is a good time to add. Chances are they will get along, bond. You never have guarentees, of course. No accounting for individual personalities. Mine all have a best friend or mate, but they have lots of choices :) How do you like having a Parrotlet?
@@ParrotBliss I love my little Frodo SO much! He’s definitely a “velcro bird” and gets so distressed when I leave the room or worse, have to go to work all day and won’t see him until dinner time for a couple of hours. We’re together constantly on the weekends. I know it’s hard on him and his happiness is so important to me-I found a 2-month old male locally that’s a beautiful blue color I’ve been coveting. Only problem is he was parent-raised so a lot of patience will be required to tame him. I’m hoping a new bird would learn from watching Frodo that I’m a trustworthy human🤷♀️ Thank you SO MUCH for answering my question, I love your videos!
@@FreshEclecticism a parent raised bird will never be the same as one that was hand said. Still, I would do it. It is a bird for your bird. I’ve done that many times. Yes, the new bird will learn from Frodo, but patience , and this will only go so far. Then again, you never know. I think it’s a wonderful idea!
I have a male and female parrotlet they are in a flight cage with separation. They fight all the time....blue my male is younger so I did not put him in with sweety bird when I got him. Can I trust her not to hurt him?
I read that you should only keep 2 if different sex or a small flock of 3-4 because they can get jealous and kill each other also I read the Mexican parrotlets live in flocks just fine I don't know how easy they are to aquire where u are I only seem to see the celestial or the spectacled and occasionally yellow faced in uk
I did just get a little green baby boy named him chico just taming him up nicely atm already got him having tickles gonna tame him fully then introduce him to my little blue girl and if they get along they will be moving in together
I'm working on today's video - in my Parrotlet aviary. If you catch it, I think it will change your mind about limiting the flock to 3 or 4. However, I follow some 'rules' about putting them together. Doesn't really apply to just 2 Parrotlets, but here's a video where I talk about the rules: ua-cam.com/video/WakpgoccTmI/v-deo.html Yeah, we have Celestial and then it's hard to find other species here. Keep me updated, Nick, as to how your Chico and girl do!
@@ParrotBliss chico is taming nicely let's me give him tickles and has started to learn to step up and step down but can tell he's still a little unsure about being on my hand but he's slowly gaining more trust I wanted to tame him a little before introducing them as my little girl is tame and I think it would be easier to do it now rather than after and better for when they are out of their cage thanks for the vid link watched it love the aviary and all the little parrotlets I also saw someone keeping sierra parakeets and parrotlets together
Hi from germany I never had parrotlets first I had a single one who wsnt happy no fethers now I brought another one and they dont like each other Im lost plus they not easy to get/buy outhere what to do now?...
Sorry to hear that. How long have you had them both? It can take them a little while to get used to one another. Do your parrots have blue backs and blue on the edge of their wings? If you have two males, my guess is that they will get along- you just need to give them some time to get used to one another. How old are they?
@@ParrotBliss itgets better and I leave the door open now so blue can escape lol if it gets too ruff works out pretty good and he gets his fethers back so I think its still better than beeing alone for him
Actually, two! We are fortunate because the master bedroom is a fair size, so the cats live in there most of the time. Since everyone has their own territory, so to speak, we've never had a problem.

You can, but he/she will need you to be around for them more and will likely be needy. In the wild they are with their flock or mate all the time.
Can you have 2 different types of birds together, for example, a parrotlet and a budgie?
Depends on the species and each bird’s unique personality, so it’s a risk
How do you know what are male or female ,
I have several videos on determining gender for Parrotlets if you do a search on my channel 😀

Hello,what are they eating?
Generally, I give them parakeet seeds or millet if they’re eating something outside of their cage
Yes soo do I, but thats something different in the bowl
I cant get mine to eat anything else, like fruit or veg,I've tried seeds with dried fruit in them but ist that as healthy as fresh

You know, you're like, "2 or 3? More!" Yes, yes!
With these little sweeties it would be easy to develop the potato chip syndrome. One would never be enough!
